Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

Lizard King, I sent a Pnp back to VaporBlunt for repair only 6 weeks after having my unit. VB charged me $50 plus the cost of shipping which was around $10 to ship it back to them. It looked very similar to where the damage I had on my unit. make sure you keep your area around the mouthpiece clean.

The Pnp gets a crack then it gets hard to pull off the mouthpiece because of resin built up. You give the unit a pull and therefore breaking the vaporizer.

good lord @Lizard King -- how did you get the ss sleeve so dirty? I wouldn't put that thing anywhere near my mouth!

The ss chamber is blackened/discolored at the top from using a hat screen on top of the bullet for holding concentrates (since I could never get the FMJ to produce any substantial vapor). I can get it cleaner than that though, of course. That photo was taken at the back end of a huge flower and concentrate session.

The rest of the chamber is still clean. The rest of the gunk was (recently) left on there to act like a natural glue for holding the PnP together.

Jesus Christ! Look at that broken PNP! Did this happen through normal usage, or did you put leave the top of your pnp resting on the stove @Lizard King ? Out of interest, how long had you owned the PNP before the main housing at the top started breaking like that?

Glad to have gotten off the PNP train well before anything that terrible happened to mine!

No stove action. But it has been used at least 3 times every day (often more) for the past 5 or 6 months. I cycle through the temps for flowers, but it has seen a lot of high temp action for concentrates. The main housing started cracking like that very recently, within the last 2 weeks. Before that, all 3 of my Pongs were showing signs of damage, and then the main housing began to crack and parts of the raised ridges began breaking off. I posted those photos earlier in the thread.

That PnP needs a bloody good clean.

Yes, the chamber has been cleaned up a bit since that photo. However, like I said, I need some of that gunk to hold the PnP together.

Yes, I remember your case well CarolKing. I've only ever taken the PonG off while the unit was still hot. I'm not planning on returning this unit.

Hopefully, a more robust version of the PnP, made with better materials, is on the way soon.
If VB can make a unit in the same size range as the current PnP, but as well-made and as tasty as, say...a Solo, then they will be onto a winner for sure. I have no regrets about my purchase to be honest. It has got a lot of people very baked. And it's still going.

What I learned from this experience is that the PnP shouldn't, and indeed can't, be used like a 'home/desktop' vape, and is much better suited to more occasional, on-the-go, usage. At lower temps.

With 4 more days under my belt, I'm conflicted about this little device. It's more harsh than the MFLB or the Vapman by a long stretch. I know that the WT would resolve this but, in my situation, that just won't work. Having said that, if I stay on one of the first two settings, I can manage with the occasional coughing fit.

The filler gets crispy brown (although I could probably push it harder) but the effects seem more ephemeral (I don't know how to put it...if I begin to focus on something else, I can begin to feel the effect fade until I start to relax again...not something I've noticed with the Vapman or the MFLB).

Pros:
- In 3 minutes, I'm able to start a session without having to worry about re-heating for the rest of the session
- The clouds are crazy; MFLB and Vapman haven't come close...but I'm not a cloud chaser
- The stealth is so much better than I expected, in terms of smell and usage (Vapman loses this one big-time because of the sound of the torch)
- No loose batteries or torch to mess with

Cons:
- Taste isn't as good as MFLB or Vapman
- Effect doesn't seem as strong or as "robust" as with MFLB or Vapman
- Much more harsh
- Uses much more material than the Vapman for comparable effect (comparable amount, or slightly less than the MFLB but I haven't tried to push too hard with smaller amounts yet)

Not sure this all makes sense but thought I would share impressions (Mr. Mellish...unflinchingly throwing his ignorance out there for the community to see!).

Do I regret the purchase? No.
Is it all I hoped for? No.

Hopefully, refinements in technique will push me to the more positive side over time.

Try using the pong as a mouthpiece, it helps a little. You need a longer air pathway to cool the vapor. Look through and see all the Magyvors we have on this thread.

First post here, so be gentle.

One of the best ways to make the WT far more effective is to put it in the freezer for 15 seconds to have it really cool down the water inside. It makes for a wonderful vaping experience, much better than untreated. Unfortunately, my last time out I forgot it in the freezer and the glass cracked.

I asked theyoyokid for a special "replacement price" but his quote was still sky high, so now I'm looking for something to replace it. Planet Vape tells me that Vaporblunt is almost ready to release a glass GonG for the Pinnacle Pro, perhaps as soon as June. Don't know if I can wait.

So if you go this route, make sure to set a timer on your mobile phone to not forget it in the freezer. We live and learn. :\

Welcome to FC @El Exigente! I think you are not alone, someone else has already posted the exact same story.
I got me the orbiter glass from magic flight. Works great with the pinnacle. Lifetime glass replacement if you order this year.

I searched for "freeze" but didn't find any posts relating to that in this thread, so I thought I was unique, goes to show you, stonership is the mother of invention.

That Orbiter tip is great. How does the PnP attach to it? Looks like the 14mm connection is at the top of the Orbiter, while the WT connects at the bottom.

There are currently two Pinnacle water tools in the classifieds section.

@El Exigente,

Have you every considered investing in a bubbler?

I have a couple of bubblers that I only use with mini ice cubes only. No water.

It helps cools the vapor down, and does not take away from the vapor flavor as I find the water does.

I find that go through less material now.

I use these mini ice cube trays:

Just a quickie that only requires a quick answer, thanks in advance

How would you rate the Pinnacle pro for hash out of 10 :huh::huh::huh::huh::huh:

01/10 or 10/10 ?

or any in between

I use Kief all the time sandwiched between flowers. I wouldn't use hash alone, plus you would need to crumble it up I imagine to as much of a powder as you can for best results.

For Kief Sandwiches, I give it a 8/10.

Thanks for that

So you're saying that with bubble hash it wouldn't work, its for a buddy of mine who's about to purchase the PP because he's heard the PP was good for it, but obviously not???

I mean isn't it as easy as with the solo for example? fill it in, vape it up?

If it's full melt, I'd stay away unless your buddy wants to use it with at least a little bit of herb/abv to suspend hash/oil in the bullet, otherwise it could potentially seep down into the bottom of the chamber and clog up your holes, burn or otherwise be messy and possibly threaten the life of the unit

BarnBoy

Reformed Combustor
The BarnBoy on Cracks – Part 4 An Encore Edition

A while back I did a small series on the cracks that many were seeing at that time. I had one form on the back wall that coincided with having to use the TRVB GonG due to breaking my first Epic Adjust-A-Bowl. The point of this series is that I fully expected the PNP to self-destroy, especially given the stories of others like @Lizard King as of late. I just didn't know how soon…

Well I started to use the TRVB GonG again a couple weeks ago as I finally got the screen to work pretty good (basically poked holes in the screen so one-two strands covered the opening). The BB-Nipple with the TRVB GonG combo make the PNP even more stealth. I just didn’t get any good photos for the contest before the next batch of trouble began. The below also explains why @theyoyokid1 is my hero and might be yours too…

While inserting the TRVB GonG into the PNP for a session, I heard a creak/crack noise and didn’t really think anything about it until I tried to pull the nipple over the PNP and saw a new crack had formed on the front PNP wall. At this point I removed the cork-stopper part of my Epic GonG adaption to make sure it never added any stress to the wall. As a result the TRVB was far easier/nicer/better to use so I converted again. Not a big deal, I hoped/expected the BB-Patch to hold it all together and the glass lined Engineering PGonG is around the corner…

UdOJV53.jpg

Last Friday while enjoying lunch watching the migrating birds in the marshes of the south bay, I cleaned the PNP of ABV particles as the TRVB GonG makes a bit more of a mess. While wiping my finger around the neck I felt a small sliver of plastic drag along my finger. After closer inspection the fragment actually had come from a small hole in the front of my PNP. F-me!

0hi3547.jpg

That made for an exceptionally bad afternoon, concerned as it looks like @TherealVaporblunt & @Engineering have all lawyered-up (not talking anymore; over one month since last posts!). When I got home, I simply text messaged @theyoyokid1 that I was having issues and he is my hero due to his response (photo below)…

So by Monday, when I mailed it to @theyoyokid1, it had further fractured to what is shown below. You can see the neck plastic looks nothing like the earlier photos I have of the PNP in my posts… (no noticeable micro pock-marks before)

ifWufID.jpg

The Yoyokid should receive my PNP tomorrow. I will let all know how this saga continues/ends. I have an important big road trip planned (bringing home daughter for summer) and really need the unit back soon…

So until I get it back, I am using my Steinel HG 3002LCD. Though a huge pain in the butt over all, the flavor is very good. I admit I took one hit from my retired combustion pipe and gagged at the taste…

Never ever again!
-BB

P.S. Before you even ask, Temp 2 for 2-3 sessions and a final run at Temp 4. 4-6 bullets a day since I got the bugger in February; more bullets if friend came to visit. Tried oils on 4&5 but not a long term thing (no super fantastic FMJ results!); bullet sandwich method is far better using the above temp recipe...
