Caveat Emptor - "A Billion People Can Be Wrong!"

@herbivore21, @Caligula, et al. ...thanks for all your help! While I did finally get the screen into my 14mm all glass adjust-a-bowl Gong, it would only go in dome-side down (through the top). A slim bic pen did the trick. I have buckets full of nails in the garage so lack of implements will never be a problem - thanks, @herbivore21! BUT, there is absolutely no way possible to get that thing in dome-side up. Through the bottom of the Gong is impossible either way (dome up or down) because the opening diameter is much smaller than the top opening. I would've liked to insert the screen dome-side up, but even through the top with a pen or nail head it's just not going to go that way (screen too big/opening too small). Though I truly hate to be a pest, I did PM/email Andy for guidance on this in the off-chance that there has been a fluke manufacturing size variance from standard in either my screen and/or Gong, or my methods are just flat-out wrong. Perhaps the screen is only meant to be inserted dome-side down through the top on all the 14mm adj.-a-bowl gongs, whereas the 19mm will accept the screen all ways due to the larger diameter bottom opening. If this is the case, maybe a 'Helpful Hints' blurb could be added to that specific item section of the Epicvape web page, as I'm sure not all clients world-wide visit FC for wisdom & wit. Will report back with Andy's solution.

Have a great Sunday, Guys & Gals! I'll be around!

So my girlfriend decided to get me an enano for my birthday(may 3rd). After the maple burls went the way of the dinosaur I ultimately decided on the exotic figured walnut. She ordered it Saturday night of last week. Thursday night I received my tracking info and to my luck I received it yesterday afternoon! It came in a tiny package. I was thrown off a little at first. Let me say I was and am one happy mofo!! This vape is gorgeous and very well crafted! I owned a volcano for about 2 years and a lsv for about one and half years. Hands down this is the best vape for flavor and clouds are comparable to lsv. I received everything including a gong. I wish the gong glass was a little thicker, looks like it will break on me in a few weeks but I have been keeping an eye on teds TNT stems and his WONGS that are coming soon for enano. Pictures and videos soon once I figure out the most optimal way to upload! Andy is the man!:rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon:

Curious, took my heater port screen out for some cleaning and see that the ceramic heater can wiggle a bit, but then I noticed half a screen shimmed in there. Thought it was a little odd and ghetto but is this designed like this so the heater doesn't wobble and make a sound when placing it down?

The ceramic heater looks like it may have some teeny fissures but nothing crazy like I've seen on another unit.

Makes perfect good business sense to me now that I have seen the item and description on the website, along with your explanation made on behalf of Epicvape, which I appreciate. Thank you! It is certainly a nice option to have available.

OK good folks ...I'm a f'n idiot:tinfoil:. The screen is in! Apparently it is supposed to go in dome-side down ...not dome-side up like it appeared to be to me in the website pic below. Just slid right in when pushed with the end of a slim bic pen. Before, I struggled to no avail to stuff it in and down the top, dome-side down, but with fingers only. Hope I got it right. Thanks to all who tried to help out.

This website pic ^ looks like dome-side up to me???

Oops-Damn, I double posted:-(

Had a bit of a similar problem with my first basket screen (the freebies Andy sent out when they were first introduced). It had gotten a bit flattened in transit. I put it in dome down, because I assumed this was how they were supposed to work (making a basket).

After reading about others using it dome up (pretty sure it was Caligula), I flipped it and have never turned back.

What I did find from this is that if you have trouble inserting your screen dome up (basket down), insert it dome down first. This will reshape it to the tube. After a few heats from the nano push it out and flip it. Goes in much easier after being reshaped!

@flotntoke - I thank you much for the suggestion. Actually, I eventually tried just that and sadly it made no difference. This really is a mystery to me. I'm usually pretty good at innovation & figuring out manual/mechanical things, more often than not getting them to work as advertised. But even 'alchemy by fire' :science: as you've suggested didn't make the magic happen.

Sorry to hear your experience was different, and now don't feel bad about missing your posts previously so I could suggest this.

I don't have any 14mm GonGs, so maybe that is the issue. If you have spares, you may want to just ditch that one. I probably would, but I get kind of superstitious like that sometimes. Like if I hammer a nail and it doesn't want to go in right, I just throw that one out. Same with a flaky lighter or a golf ball I slice more than twice. Hate to be wasteful, but have no patience for inanimate objects that won't cooperate!:goon:

Thanks! Until I hear from the Grand Master, Andy, I will hold off on doing anything drastic:D. Besides, like I said before, the screen DID go in dome-down with a little push from a slim Bic pen. So, it is perfectly usable that way;). Stay tuned:nod:.

I've had a look at some earlier posts and it seems that the nano cord is soldered at the dimmer switch and in a crimp connection at the enano. The close proximity between the swich and the nano at the moment really does annoy me so I'm tempted just to buy the cord (it's not expensive anyway). To those in the know, it would be Really Helpful if you could tell me how far the dimmer switch is from the enano with the new replacement cords (can you measure it)? Also, do other people with the older cords find they sometimes accidentally knock it and change the setting? By the way, my current switch is 18.5 inches/47 cm away from the enano.

Thank you.

Same here. I'd be fine with the dimmer right next to the outlet and out of the way, I rarely adjust my temperature until the end of a bowl. I keep hitting my dial while in use and have to constantly check it to make sure it hasn't moved, really annoying. I guess some tape would fix that.

Any cord should work as long as it is the proper gauge. Been thinking of just modding my own cord but I'm not very good at soldering and was afraid to void my warranty.

Thanks for those answers. The gauge is 18 I think so it wouldn't be difficult to find the wire, I think it is quite heat resistant though which is a bit harder to find. I'm a bit worried about detaching wires without instructions and I've also never taken a soldered wire off a circuitboard. I do have a soldering iron though.

The new cord (as recently replaced by Andy) is total of 104" (264 cm) and 28" (71 cm +/-) from nano to dimmer. Pretty sure this is what is being offered as replacement cord at Epicvape site. Cord is also much more pliable. Dimmer doesn't move quite as easily as my old one, but still can be moved if bumped. However, don't seem to bump it nearly as much with the added distance to the nano. Don't know if I would consider this optimum (or if I would engineer it the same), but is MUCH better than the original cord IMO. I'm pleasantly surprised how much difference this 10" makes (if my old was same as yours - measured it once but don't remember how far). So much so that I never even think about it anymore, and that has been my only gripe with the nano from the beginning.

I haven't opened mine up (before sending for new cord & tweaks or after), but from pics posted way back in this thread there are crimp connections at the nano end. Looks easy enough to open it up (2 screws on bottom), clip the old cord off and crimp on the new one. So there would be no soldering necessary for full cord replacement, just a little clipping, stripping and crimping. As explicitly stated here and on Epicvape, if you do this yourself you will void the warranty.

If dial bumping/moving is a problem, a rubber band can help. I used one from a lobster claw (heavy, thick, yellow rubber band) with great success. Think one of those blue broccoli rubber bands would work well, too. I used to just leave it right on the cord and slip over the dimmer as needed. Do note, this will wear your numbers off the dial pretty damned fast.

I clear coated my dial with finger nail polish as soon as I got the new one, but don't know how this would hold up with regular rubber band use (haven't used one on new cord at all). Think it does look pretty cool with the high gloss shine on the dial, though!

EDIT: I just looked and can't find the replacement cord on Epicvape anymore, so don't even know if still available. Going to leave rest of this post as is, just in case. Figure Andy will probably be through here at some point with more definite details.

Glad it finally got there!! I think the rule on here is that you have 24-48 hours to enjoy it before you have to post, but after that you'd better be back with a full report! :D
...and with pics and vids too!!! ...Please:bowdown:

Open basket screen-edge diameter flares out. Can't compress enough to force through Gong top or bottom openings for dome-up insertion. Would someone like to compare the measurements provided below with their own 14mm glass adjust-a-bowl Gong & screens? Thanks!

Well I am completely sold on this vape. I had a great time this weekend using it and my gf is even enjoying it after not been into any vape since my SSV. I love that I can use tiny loads and just keep it on for the night so it's ready when ever.

Also wanted to say how great Andy has been though this process. I ordered when they were on back order and still received it in just over a week. I ended up breaking my gong on its second go around so I emailed Andy and also placed an order for a new one. He ended up refunding my new order.:clap::nod::clap::rockon:

Awesome service and an even more awesome product. If you have been lurking this thread (like I had been) I suggest you just go ahead and take this as a sign and grab this bad boy.

Cheers all!

That looks absolutely perfect together.
My two other vapes are top notch performers (see sig) and I remain loyal to their good service, but since getting my Nano it's been a whole new ballgame - Solo & Lotus aren't retired, but they have been benched for the past 2 weeks. E-Nano really is a first class quality product that performs like a true champ! If you've thought twice about getting one, don't think thrice - just get one!
