I agree that you should fill in Hermes Medical on your correspondence (CC) ... might help you get it resolved ... they are truly concerned about their customers! Good to give the distributor/retailer a chance to make it right, but Hermes will make sure they make it right (or will help you out themselves) ... really a stand-up company from my experience!

Hi MiniVAP fans. I currently own a Solo and am wondering if upgrading to a portable MiniVAP is right for me. My main criticism of the Solo is that it's hard to get a decent draw through it. It feels like I really have to suck in hard and still don't get a decent hit. Just wondering how the MiniVAP compares. Also a point of concern is the start up time. I believe the solo's is approx. 2-3 min. whereas the MiniVAP website states around 5min. I think 5min would be the upper limit of what I require. Do you guys have to wait any longer to get it up to temp. or is it well and truly there by 5min ?

Also I've heard rumors of potential firmware upgrades and upgrades of the unit to an all glass air-path in the works. Any ideas when these are due for a release ? In particular for the glass air-path upgrade any ideas if it's going to be retrofit-able or not ?

Finally I also own a Herborizer XL sphere for home use only. Just wondering how the vapor quality compares if anyone owns this also. I really enjoy my sphere apart from the 10min warm-up time. I'm just worried the MiniVAP might make my sphere obsolete which would be a shame.

Thanks

Hi,
one dealer lists warmup as:
Heat up time: 0-2 minutes .

I hope to do a review soon and will post my miniVAP experience.
Mine arrived with bottom piece (battery) a different color.
I'm in the middle of exchange process

The wamup time depends of the heat level, I think 5mn for the green level is the timing and for the red level (higher setting) it's longer, especially for the initial warm up, but it's worth the wait!
The MV is one of the tastier heavy hitter......and it's a portable!

A 0-2 minute warm-up time would be great! I'll forward to reading your review. Did you order from the MiniVAP website or a distributor ? Also does anyone have any coupon codes for the MiniVAP website.
Thanks

Yeah I thought I read somewhere it was around five minutes (damn two minutes would be awesome). It should be ok for me as long as it's not closer to 10. I'm kinda kicking myself because I was tossing up between this and the Herbo XL sphere last year and ended up going with the Herbo. But now it looks like I'm gonna get a MiniVAP anyway and could have saved a bit of money. Nothing against the Herbo btw it's still a great home unit, just the Solo doesn't meet my portable needs.

Just ordered a minivap yesterday , after watching roger d's youtube videos while looking for mobius matrix disc videos , so thanks roger for sharing your videos

I also use botanic choice liquid cranberry extract in my glass because of your videos and it keeps them nice and new even when I mainly smoke flowers it's just a quick rinse with hot tap water

Ps: does anyone no how long delivery takes from Hermes to Scotland and do I need to buy the glass adapters separately ?

Hi,
can you please post a link to roger d's video? Is he vapefeind, as I've seen that one and it's an excellent review. If you haven't seen that one, you should. He wears a ski mask to conceal his identity.

Delivery---they have been very slow on deliveries (to US) as I've been waiting weeks to exchange my new miniVAP as the bottom piece (battery) is different color from top. So, it's been sitting unused for weeks :(
US retailer says Hermes finally has inventory and it's "in the mail".
Anxious to finally try it out.

Was finally able to try out my miniVAP after replacement approved for bottom/battery which was very different color from top black piece.
Oh my.....words can't describe. I used the tiny basket for some finely ground Green Cush. Herb didn't even cover bottom floor of basket (very little loaded) yet I seem to get vape after vape after vape from it. This is like 1000X times better experience than my cheap vape pen.
Going "up the line" on the temps gets a superb, yet different taste at each. The low temps are like sucking air over a lemon drop and get fuller taste at each level. The taste on inhale and exhale is just like the bare herb smells, if you know what I mean ....and I love the bare herb smell.

Question--been checking on herb color several times. Each time, there is some herb above the basket, out of the chamber flow, sitting on the white upper deck inside. And no, I'm not trying to suck a football thru a garden hose, taking gentle long pulls with 40% from vape and 60% sucking air around mouthpiece.
Anybody else get this? Is it just the one downside to using tiny basket insert as it sits way at the top of the chamber??

Love my miniVAP!!!!!!!!!

Did you close your basket to the silicone cone? imo this is the better way to use it (and the cleaner) but Jorge (MV maker) told me to put my herbs directly in the MV to get clouds faster, I didn't try it since I prefer to keep my unit clean.

When I got it I thought it was really smooth dry but now I use it quasi-only with a water pipe cause it produces too much vapor and makes me cough without water filtration (except with the 2 lower levels).

Enjoy your MV!

Can anyone with a Solo tell me if the MiniVAP has an easier draw. My wife finds the draw on the Solo very heavy so she is not converted to vaping yet. I really like the look of this vape as my less portable vape and if I could get the wife converted that would be a huge bonus.

PPN, No, I just pushed it into the main chamber. The skimpy manual had no directions on the tiny wire basket.
Just took out the stock screened part and put in the silicone cone. Basket snaps in nicely, Should eliminate the spilling out problem, thanks. Now there is no screen above herbs, any issue with sucking
herb particles up the mouthpiece??
I much prefer running it cleaner with the basket, don't need giant clouds, prefer slow and long enjoyment of the flavor!!

Thanks again for the timely tip!!!!---it has fantastic vape quality.

DrR---no Solo experience but if you "overdraw"/ suck too hard , there is restriction. If you do firm, slow, long draws you get minimal restriction. It's easy to see why....looking where the two pieces snap together, there are two small holes, the air intact ports. If you draw faster than their max input there will be restriction.
I also find the open lip draw helps. Lips are slightly open over the mouthpiece and you are drawing some air from the MV AND plain air from around the outside.
With minimal attention to proper technique it works fine and the taste is exquisite.

airflow is way better on minivap then on solo...no use comparing the two actually, minivap is way ahead...
Thanks for that. I think I am going to pull the trigger. Now to decide if I am going to purchase from Vapefiend or directly from the manufacturer.
I think with the huge battery capacity I will go for the portable version.

Order from minivap...I think most people here will agree on that...

I've been trying to order through www.minivap.com myself. Unfortunately there's no option to select my country - Australia, when ordering. I've e-mailed miniVAP directly without much luck. Any ideas ? Also there's a big difference in price been EU countries (469 EUR) and US (519 USD) for the portable and ideas why this is and which price is for my country ?
Thanks

Just ordered on the European site. The price does seem very high compared to the US site but since i am in the EU and shipping is free its still should be cheaper. Stuff gets expensive when you have to pay import duties from the US and shipping can also be ridiculous. I was looking at the Indica vape which costs 200 bucks but they wanted 100 for shipping!

Anyway looking forward to my new vape and converting my wife! Would be great to get tobacco out of the house and keep us both much healthier without having to give up our hobby.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for all the information which has helped me make a (hopefully) well informed decision.

Good choice! My wife depends on the Minivap now. At first she questioned the price, but it is such a key part of her pain management now. Been using it for 1.5 years now solid, mostly on AC power.

When I get a new strain, I can't wait to try it in the minivap- the flavor is always the best.
