Good morning everyone!

@hd_rider Wow thank you for making my day bro, I appreciate the kind words, but I am the lucky one bro! My whole strategy in life is to show up early and try and get lucky! I just do what I do and love that I can do it what I enjoy, if I am able to help make someones life a little easier or more pleasurable than I have done something, I have left my mark. Thank you for being a part of what I love!

@stickstones Thank you.

@equatorgringo I am sorry bro, did I miss something for ya? Its been tough trying to hold it all together lately, pls tell me if I am supposed to get you something out.

Its been a wild day and night yesterday, was dodging tornados and running back and forth to the storm shelter. We had some close calls at my place, had a twister go about 5 miles from my house and wreck a gas station. We had em spinning all around here in the state and we still have another chance of bad weather coming this afternoon. Tupelo which is I think the 3rd largest city in the state got hammered yesterday and last night. We lost power for about an hour and all calmed down about 8pm so we could get some rest. As I said though its supposed to fire back up about 2pm today. This is the time of the year where its not so freaking hot just before summer and right after winter. It seems to go from winter to about a few weeks of spring and right into the blazing hot summer here, so this little time between winter and summer is tornado season. When we got our place, the first thing we did was to get a storm shelter put in and I am damn glad we did. We have been really lucky that the bad stuff either goes above us or below us. I am looking forward to all this being over, I am ready to go camping this weekend, I cant wait!

Stay safe Ed. When I talked to you yesterday didn't realize about the tornados all around you. I was watching CNN and thought about you and your family right in the middle of all that.

I'm looking forward to the Cocobolo 14 mm Wong/stem for the Ascent and the black wood Wong for the Solo, I think it will be great for a mouthpiece. Don't worry about getting things done, just stay safe my friend.

How do I remove the screen in my Solo WonG shorty? There appears to be a metal ledge on top of the screen preventing it from being removed.

Armerad,

What you need is a pair of snap ring pliers, similar to below:

The pliers will allow you to remove the ring that is holding the screen in place. Once the ring is removed, the screen will fall right out.

You might consider going to eBay and buying some 1/2" screens in bulk. I bought 100 steel screens for 7 bucks. I change out the screen on my Solo Wong every two weeks or so.

Good afternoon everyone, I hope all is well out there! Been giving it hell in the shop since midnight, bout time to get a quick nap before I go get the boys from school. We re going camping tomorrow for a couple of days, we are so excited!

@CarolKing All is good my way. its a bright and sunny day here finally. Its not too hot or to cool. Its gonna be 86 degrees Sunday though, gonna start feeling like summer soon down here.

@$unnyblaq You are in luck bro, I have a Hammer stem on the way now thanks to a FC member is also interested in a wooden Hammer stem. Hang in there with me a few weeks and I should have something for everyone. Am looking forward to doing something a little different. I appreciate the kind words and wish you all the best.

@Armerad there is a small internal retaining clip installed just over the screen to hold it in place and wont fall out. @hd_rider is right you can get a pair of pliers at Amazon or ebay for a few dollars to remove it then pull the screen out and swap it out. Once you have the new screen in, out the clip back down over the screen and use a blunt object like a wooden pencil eraser to seat the clip back on top of the screen and you should be ok. A little care and maintenance can go a long way t prolonging its life. To be honest with you, I dont have a pair of pliers, I just the use the pointed end of a metal compass like you had in school as kid to poke in one of the holes of the clip and lift out. I have wanted to offer a tool to do this but haven't found anything that would work for me. Just get something narrow and pointed if you can and poke the point in one end of the clip, then lift it out.

@hd_rider Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts bro. I hope all is well your way!

I got a thought last night about a 14mm stem for the LB, I gave it a try and it turned out nicely.

@jambandphan03 Thanks for stopping by and the kind words.

@Reflections I am seeing it not quite as wide, I used my parting tool to make the groove. I wanted it to be narrower and not quite so bold, I wanted it to be subtle and not so overwhelming. I have a smaller size turquoise coming that should look more consistent and will fill the groove more uniformly is what I am shooting for. Glad you like it though, that makes me feel good. We are packing stiff now for the trip, had to buy a new tent, couldnt find my old one. No sweat the new one is the shit!

@stickstones You have seen the 14mm water pipe adapter MF offers right? That one you have to hold the LB in place for it to work right? This one is hands free! Do you think I have a winner? I am glad you like the turquoise too!

My E-Nano stem is staying as snug as you please!
No movement whatsoever, and I am giving it hell!
vitolo - thanks to you and your recent guidance I will soon be posting some 'before' and 'after' pics of my new custom Nano stem. The 'before' pic will feature just the wood blank; the 'after' pic will feature the new stem in all its glory - stay tuned - it's in the works NOW!

EDIT: Man!!! I keep going back to see Ed's turquoise inlay stem pics above - OUTSTANDING!!!
Just the beginning folks, I can feel it in my bones!!!

The mflb wpa looks sweet! The only problem is that the mflb needs to be used horizontally so we may need to buy a glass 90 degree adapter or 45 degree adapter to make it work properly on a water pipe depending on the angle of the down stem. If there is a way for you to make it a 90 degree adapter I will buy one immediately cause I've been thinking about hitting up Oregon glass blower to make me one but this would be better than glass!
