Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Vapes on vapes on vapes!
Me three!

While we wait for our xnails does anyone know of a chart or something that shows the temperature of the EVO at the various dial positions? This would be useful info for ultra low temp dabbing...

Me four!

I have like no experience with concentrates so this will be interesting. I'm getting some good shatter this weekend apparently though. I've got two VapeXNails on the way and already have a Skillettool Honeybun. I believe I will be all set to be using the VXNail by early next week!

....when I saw stonemonkey @ igzactly420 dispensary on 4/20..this is when I had my 1st (and only) experience with the accessory he kept the evo at full blast...it only took a small amount...I wasn't able to get it all in one hit...

I envy you guys who have access to concentrates, my Evo is in for repair and I cannot wait to get it back, running the Cloud and can't wait to have a working Evo for the first time. I thought because I was using my Cloud I wasn't going to be anxious about getting the EVO back, shit was I wrong, reading the positive post about how good it is has my patients at a all time low. Now I'm deciding on whether I should buy a Mobius bubbler or the double swagger...and maybe when Illinois gets its shit together, one day the vapexnail.

Don't make me create yet another shipping thread. Your excitement is understandable but please don't clog the thread with this sort of post. Thanks for your cooperation.

I'm about as clumsy as a person has no right being. To protect nice things in my house I have to employ special measures. Hydro tubes provide a nice target for clumsy folks so I've added a base of glass.

You can buy glass disks here: http://www.telescopemirrorblanks.com/glass_circles_and_glass_disks.html.
Are they Labrador tail-worthy? No. a Labrador's tail will knock the whole thing to the floor.

I used a product called Loctite Stik'N Seal clear outdoor adhesive. Smells like airplane glue. I had it laying around. If I would have found clear silicone, I'd prefer to use that because you can always get it apart if you change your mind.

How did you glue the HydraFoot to the glass disk?
Yeahh I wouldn't use a glass disk if you didn't have a hydrafoot to attach to it.
Just like placing a hydratube directly on a wooden table is better than placing directly on a glass table.

The glass hitting glass impact weakens the crystalline structure of the glass, compared to wood which has more give. -source SliM ;)

Really cool how thick (and probably heavy?) those disks are though!

I've glued the hydrafeet to the glass disks. Seems ok. It would just be my luck should it promote breakage in some way! The disks are heavy enough to weigh down the hydra foot so you do not need two hands or nimble finger manipulations to remove foot from tool. The empty glass disk is for a hydrafoot on order which should arrive soon.

I just got a huge surprise, not a good one either. I finished a more done than I thought elb, caught up a bit on the thread, and then went to cook dinner. I left the EVO on (green mode) because I was going to load a fresh elb and try some of the suggested inhaling techniques after dinner.
This problem concerns INTERNATIONAL VapeXhalers.
When stuff was cooking and didn't need any attention, I came back to a smoking EVO. My room light was off but there was a new lava lamp on my desk, so I noticed right away. I wish I got some pictures but first I was contemplating if I should take it out of the house or if glass shards were about to fly everywhere. Then I got the camera but couldn't find full batteries and dinner was done. The bamboo was way brighter than the led, literally molten glass solid orange all the way to the top of the gong. It's continuing to crack as I type. The smoke was starting to get pretty thick to.
On an even more serious note, this could have been bad. I thought my EVO had gone rogue by itself from green mode twice in the past week or so, but I saw it happen early so just thought it might be heating up and toggled it. This could very well burn a house down unsupervised. I don't recall getting a serious safety warning from VapeXhale, and I think at the very least, a message to internationals is a must.

The temperatures for various dial positions can vary quite a bit from unit to unit based on a number of factors such as the specific bamboo. Each unit is set according to the bamboo that is in it, so there is definitely variation (can be expected being that the bamboos are hand-blown)

Wow that is scary. I feel like if this was a different manufacturer there would be posters with their pitchforks ready for blood.

My 220v EVO is OK but only since I'm not using it due to risk of injury.
I agree that VXL should release a safety warning, as I'm educated only thanks to the feedback in FC and I assume there are many intl IGG folks who aren't here and may leave the Evo unattended near children, etc.

Macbill what size did you order. The 4 or 6 inch?

The glass disks I used are 5" and I bought them in a Dollar store years ago. The Dollar store had them as candle chasers. I thought it was a good idea so I searched for something similar so as to present to The FC community. I didn't look but a round piece of marble would be good, too. I would probably go with the 6 inch.

For VapeXhale sake I hope they reach out and warn owners of 220v EVO's and recall the devices. I would hate to see someone's house burn down or someone gets really hurt because an unattended 220v EVO overheats. More importantly I don't want to see anything happen to the company because I love my EVO and look forward to new models especially portable ones.

Could anyone please tell me how the cloud evo might hit in contrast to this:

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/herbalaire.276/page-66#post-587055

I mean seems like if I ignore the vape that might as well have been a cloud?
I had a herbalaire 2.1, it was a great vape for the price, you could throw whole solid nug in and it would come out even brown!

But it is stainless steel and teflon and tastes just OK, and bags aren't as good as bongs. Compared to the evo that tastes exactly like the bud smells and milks glass epicly!

International Customers, we have hired an additional engineering firm to help us resolve the 220V issue. Because of the length of time it has taken, we are going to send ALL of you guys 110V units (just keep your existing 220 whether it works or not), a 300 watt 110-220 converter, 1 EVO heat shield (3.2 mm neoprene that International customers will get FIRST), AND (that's not all) $50 in store credit (ELBs, VapeXNails, credit towards a HydraTube).

When the 220s are out, you can keep using your 110V with power converter OR you can send it back to your local partner of VapeXhale and they can exchange your 110 for a 220. Feel free to email
support@vapexhale.com if you have any more questions.
Doesn't this mean that it might have been a 110V unit that went meltdown?

Greetings,

Before writing to tech support yet again, I thought I'd reach out to you. In brief, my brand new EVO needed a "firmware update" after a single month of use because it stopped heating well. I sent it in, 2 and a half long weeks later, I got it back. First day and a half, its performance was less than ideal. Vapor was wispy. ABV was very light even after long hits at 3-5 pm on the dial even after heating for hours. But, then it seemed to go into full gear and for the next couple of days has been performing like a champ. That is, until now. I've had it back one week week and…

Suddenly, now it seems to be overheating--the LED turned solid red and stayed that way no matter where I put the dial and the unit feels hotter than ever--all over. I unplugged it. Reset (toggled on/off) at 12 pm, unplugged again. Let cool down. And now, it seems to be heating normally. Maybe. I'll have to watch it closely. But, wow, it was really hot (I left it running unattended for about 20 mins after it was on for a couple hours). This is a 110v US unit.

Anyway, it seems the sensor got tricked into thinking it needed to heat up when it was already too hot so got stuck on red. Is that possible?

Also any/all suggestions as to how to deal with this issue are appreciated.

Thanks,
jd
