Discontinued The Hammer Vaporizer

A man in search of cloudier pastures
After a couple refills using Neon 5x butane I use for lighters with the Lotus, the performance really dipped. It's taking much longer for heating.

Anyways, I've been reading through some forums about BHO and their butane preferences, I came across "Lucienne" which some users said to be great quality (some said as good as StoK, some said better than Vector). Wondering if anyone here has any impressions of Lucienne butane.

Learning curve? I may be crazy, but I'm having some trouble..

I have been using an Extreme Q for the last 2 years or so and love it. I can get very thick hits from elbow packs, which I enjoy.

I've read that the Hammer can do similar on very minimal amount of bud.. however, I'm not experiencing the same.

Here's what I do w/ lock on stem:
1. Hold button for 30 seconds
2. Fill my stem and attach to hammer
3. inhale slowly and let go of the button and continue to draw when I feel the heat on my tongue.

* I start at about 70% and go up slowly from there.

It works fine, but I'm finding that I'm not getting huge milky hits. I still prefer my EQ except for being plugged into the wall. But, perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I've read so many great reviews :)

I really did minimal research and just went with an uneducated feeling during the sale...

Just finishing my third stem, this is GREAT!
I have some refining to do with my technique, but overall it was an excellent experience.

Did two on the stem. First was perfectly evenly vaped all the way down after one pull. The second I got overconfident in the ease of use. No combustion but super dark; and from the taste and color, I could tell it was close. I stirred and got one more nice light one. The viewing angle is actually quite nice with the stem, seeing the colors change and clouds coming at me.

...Then, for the third, I took out the GonG water attachment. Being an even larger chamber, I got even more confident and went for it.

It was fantastic! I find my throat is more and more irritated by hot vapor these days and I was thrilled to put it to good use in my 4/20 Sheldon Black purchase. This is the way to go! Taste remained strong, clouds were thick, but sadly the hammer blocks the view a good bit- not that I even care though, a 14mm bent neck adapter will make the viewing much better.

Very efficient piece, probably used about .2 for all three stems, and I am certain I could pack about half of what I am using.

For those experienced, do you all go for the lung-buster-I'ma-gonna-get-it-all-in-one-pull, or do you load full chambers and have more extended sessions?

I'm finding for my use, I have to pre-heat a full 30 seconds before I even start drawing, and keep the heat on for a little while, before I get real visible vapor (and the accompanying slam to the cranium)... this is amazingly good for getting a nice low-to-higher temp vapor with an itty-bitty stem.

Oh, and I have the flame control turned nearly-to-all the way up (to the right)

I have found once i get the hammer up to temp its rips, but i have issues with getting my internal lighter torch to stay consistent. Since day one i have kept the dial on full and the initial heat up time is taking me closer to a minute and a half almost 3 times the suggested 30 seconds. And probably closer to 10 plus seconds after heated to maintain this heat level. As i mentioned once i finally get it to temp its perfect. I have noticed when first pulling it out to heat up my lighter is so soft of a sound i can almost not hear it running as i get half way through a session it seems to get louder and reach higher temperatures faster. I sent a quick email to the hammer support and explained what i have noticed and asked if they had any suggestions to fixing at home or test i could do to figure out whats going on. I figured id post here and see what community advise you guys had.

I used to have that problem and then I searched on the Internet on how to purge & fill a butane lighter. First purge, and what I mean is let all the gas out of the tank. Use a chopstick or a wooden match bottom and let all the gas out of the tank. Make sure you don't hear any hissing. Second, turn the fame adjustment all the way down. Third, fill, have the Hammer upside down and put the can of butane to the valve (don't shake, you will mix propellent with butane and it won't burn as well). Push the butane can to fill valve firmly but not to hard for a 5 second burst. Repeat once or twice for a 2 to 3 second burst. You should see a very small bubble in the thank, you can't get the tank completely full but close. Last, wait 10 min to let the butane warm, adjust the flame to maybe 50% and light. Give that a try and see how that works.

Thank you very much @CaptainDave I'll give this a try. Since i have zero experience using and filling a butane lighter this could definitely be my issue. I'm really hoping I can solve this with out sending it back. When ever you say a small air bubble could you help describe this a little. when i was first filling it i was trying to get it totally full but it never seemed to get above the glass unless i hold it upside down.

So you are saying that after filling that you have a large bubble in the tank ? I usually only have a very, very tiny bubble that I can only see if I turn the Hammer on it's side. Some times after purging I will place the Hammer in the freezer for 5 min and then fill, by cooling the tank it creates a vacuum and you can put more butane in. I hope this helps you @Philreal187

Butane & glass stems. Probably a good idea to buy extra stems. Can of butane last a long time. I just went thru my first can of cheap ransons. It was the small can and I got the vape in early December. Would definitely like to try some high end butane ,but I have a can of Zippo & 8 cans of Neon that a friend gave me because it would not work for BHO.

I get a about 5-6 nice good hits out of my stem..i am using a screenless customer stem. I do not try to kill it in one hit. I start out on the lowest setting and get 3 good ones there then I crank the heat up to finish it off. I am temped to put the hammer on my lotus j-hook and see what happens. Kinda scared to do that...it may force me to retire my lotus cap...I have pretty much retired my FF.

I would suggest putting the stem on at 15 seconds and letting it warm with stem on for last 15 seconds and then hitting it.

Volute of Vapor
I received mine yesterday, it works great, no butane taste at all and big clouds!

1st bowl at 70%= several hits with nice clouds and nice taste, great!
2nd bowl at max= 1 really big hit with a fair amount of combustion and cough
3rd bowl at max= shatter and cotton! several big clouds but I would like something else than cotton...

In the user guide it's wrote that you need to use it upright(vertically), with my bubblers it warms upright but I connect it horizontally when it's hot enough to take my hit, is it a problem for my unit?

Edit: I get the lock on stems, they arrived both in perfect condition, I'm lucky cause they are very "fragile", breakable. Another stem option free of glass and more solid would be nice (to use with a hammer you need solid accessories! isn't it?).

The nail is here only for the fun I think... cause it's not a really nice packing tool or perhaps it is here for something else I misunderstood....

After the first warmup do you need the 30s preheat or I can heat less since the unit is already warmed...
