Savory AVB recipes?

... and a munchie recipe at the end as a thank you for replying.

Everyone says that canabutter made from AVB tastes horrid but I'm wondering if a lot of it has to do with using it in sweet recipes instead of savory ones. The aroma of AVB is burnt and nutty (I haven't eaten anything made with AVB yet) but does this aroma translate at all into its flavor profile? If it does, I'm wondering if anyone has tried recipes that more or less compliment these characteristics as opposed to trying to disguise them with sweetness. Everything I've found is a sweet recipe with one exception, bacon "drippings" (canabacon drippings?), which could potentially make a great roux. Other than that I'm still thinking baked goods but I'm curious about anything else.

BTW, I recently tried some chocolate, peanut butter, bacon brownies (no cannabis) that were amazing. Everything really does taste better with bacon:

Get a box of brownie mix, some organic peanut butter, peanut butter chips, and a bottle of Hormel's real bacon bits for a quick and easy version. Combine peanut butter chips and just a little bit of the bacon bits into the mix, pour into a a baking pan, swirl organic peanut butter into the panned mix with a butter knife, then sprinkle bacon bits on top to taste. A little bit of bottled bacon goes a long way in this so don't overdo it in the mix or the topping.

I do not have a direct answer to this, but I see where you're coming from. I have only eaten abv a few times, but (correct me if I'm wrong) it seems like the badness of the taste is mostly due to the strength of that burnt nutty flavour seeing as you have to use alot. I took a tiny pinch of my light brown abv and tasted it just now. And honestly I could see it being a complimenting spice (even fresh cannabis could most likely). But if you know spices you'll know that too much of a spice can completely ruin the taste. and if you wanna get high, your not gonna use a little bit. Also take into account that most spices arent vaped... Although I do plan on attempting to make something savoury and stoney when I build up my abv as I am not a huge sweets fan, mabye you`re onto somethin.

I just made a 13x9 pan of brownies using 1 oz of ABV, and a little bit of soy lecithin added. I used my go-to method of cold infusing my canola oil, instead of cooking it (search FC for it, jeffp turned me onto it). This batch came out ridiculously strong :whoa:. I have been completely baked for about a week now. Creme de menthe chips in the brownies work with the chocolate to cover nearly 100% of the ABV taste, I don't strain it out because there's no reason to. Everyone that has tried my brownies made with creme de menthe chips say there's no weed taste at all.. every one of them. Nuts are really nice in them too, I like walnuts.

Previous methods I tried with PB were fairly successful, but stressful on stomachs and not near as tasty as brownies. The brownies do have to be cooked at 320-325f to ensure they don't cook away our goodies in them :) Also, get a box of brownie mix that requires 1/2 cup of oil.

This cold infusion method is by far the easiest method to do, and the results are awesome. I really encourage anyone who's looking to make edibles to try cold infused oil; it's so easy!

Hmmmm SAvory, I was thinking about combining AVB with some cottage cheese but im worried that it wont be stron enaugh because there isnt alot of fat. If any one has tried it or has any ideas on mixing cottege cheese with AVB and has a good idea to add another fatty ingridieant to make the canabinoids more active. I know lecithin can help but i cant find it in its powder form.:2c::drool:

If you dont plan to extract the abv and then filter it :)... Then you need only a little fat to get it fatty enough for you to absorb... :) When you are straining is important that you use more fat to herb cause some portion is left in the herbs.. and it is better to loose 10 out of 100 grams.. than 0.6 out of 1 g :)

Abysmal Vapor what do you mean by extracting? do you mean as an oil or butter right? I was just thinking of just adding it to the cottage chesse. So far i have only used it in penutbutter and gram cracker with a chocolate. I go flying with that but i really want a healthier and better savory recopy myself. Any opinion are welcome and Abysmal Vapor let me know if I understood you post correctly thanks guys!

By extracting i mean... straining the herb out and left only with oil/butter (extract) Then u need more.. cause fat is left in the herb.. and it is better if it is 10 % of the overall fat.. cause if you use too little a half of it will be left in the herb you are going to throw away after straining :).. If you plant on eating the plan matter you need just a little to get it fatty :).. Raw hash does nothing to me compared to if i put it in between premade peanut cookie (Oreo style) and warm it up a little.. it gets me wasted.. for hours.
