Looks like or neighbors to the north are out of some luck getting the Pax local. PV states to order them from the US for some reason I didn't finish reading so I ordered it direct.

Already got shipping confirmation from ploom, still waiting for that from PV with orders placed minutes apart, lol.

Not sure, I was commenting on that it looks like all Canadian sources are out of any new stock so US is the only place to get it. Someone could get it for you here but you would have to run it through a converter to charge it but seems this is a better topic for the pax thread then a Cera thread.

Oh, PV= Planet Vape http://www.planetvape.ca/vaporizers/pax-vaporizer.html

Based on some great advice from FC, I sent my recently purchased used EO cartridge in for a rebuild. I have to give a shout out to TET for great service. I mailed my cart on Friday, arrived at TET on Monday, and it was in my mailbox already today (Thurs.). Amazing turn around. However, for some reason, I am having problems finding any CO2 oil at my normal dispensaries. Hopefully just a 4/20 rush shortage. At any rate, I have some reasonable quality CO2 shatter and butane wax and butane crumble. Any advice on which would be the most forgiving concentrate for my first go? I've read up on loading techniques, but did not get a good feel for a definitive opinion. I'm super excited to give my Cera a good run.

Without checking them out in person, I'd say you'll have the least trouble with the wax. I used a lot of Butane extracted Sour Diesel wax in lots of Omicron carts, DARTs and Cera EO cores and never had anything more than normal fouling (say 3 grams per Omicron?). I've had trouble loading both shatters and crumbles (including trying to help a friend load his homemade crumble which was near impossible for some reason).

Others have reported problems or special techniques for these types as well I think.

As always, I think the foil test is a useful indicator here. If it passes easily, it loads easily as well.

Start with the wax. Say half a gram?

Good luck with it, I hope you're enjoying it soon.

I found a great deal on a Cera with car charger, wall charger, extra batteries, loose leaf, liquid cartridge and more. It's still in the original container.
I am waiting on the INH05, but its not going to be shipped out until June.
I was considering getting the Cera while I wait for the INH05.
How does the Cera compare to the XP (or INH05 if anyone is beta testing it). From what I hear the taste is incredible. I've never had the pleasure of trying the Cera.

Any feedback comparison would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

@OF thanks for all the great advice. I am now a happy member of the Cera family. Awesome flavor! I love the versatility as well, it's so easy to get light hits or big clouds. With a properly working cart, the Cera is so simple and straight forward to use. Very little learning curve. As usual FC lead me down the right path.

You're very welcome, thanks.

You're right, it a secret too good to keep to yourself isn't it? An elegant and useful tool for sure.

Congratulations. By all means enjoy it well and often.

I'm about to purchase a LL Cera. Is the titanium one worth the extra money? I know it's lighter and more corrosion resistant, but does it work any differently than the stainless steel version? Also the 1 thing I don't like is the button placement. Is it a sensitive button, if you barely need to touch it, I don't think it would be to much of a bother. Does the weight of the device engage the button if you rest it on your pinky (SS & titanium version)? I'm ready to pull the trigger and wanted some opinions, I don't know too much about it other than people seem to love it and say it tastes amazing.
Thanks in advance

Only you can say if the price is good, of course, but IMO if you have a SS Cera, don't buy a Ti LL cart. Corrosion is not a big issue, usually. Getting the Ti cart stuck in the SS screwplate and making a mess of things is a real big deal. Crank too hard and those four tiny screws, each with barely a turn into the base of the core, and you're normally on very thin ice. Fuse the core base into the screw plate because they're different metals on one end and substitute the weaker Ti for the SS in the core base and you're asking for trouble you don't need (or IMO want). Save your money, buy another EO core instead.

You're on your own with switches, we've beat that to death several times. No matter what you say, a dozen or more guys will be just as firm in their convictions you're full of the traditional substance. Few seem to care in the end with EO use. While it's not all that stiff (it's recessed, but the Cera doesn't weigh enough to accidentally turn it on if you stand it up on a lump of something), I'd say we're pretty split on it for the minute or two you might want a LL core on. Lots of simple work arounds, my current one was first suggested by a fellow Forum Member over a year ago. It uses a one inch plastic cap (some guys use furniture leg bumpers) and a smaller cap (cut down) and hot melt glued into a washer to keep it centered. I cut the cap down some to make it easier to slip on and off. Others have used pencil erasers or similar and cardboard:

Edit: One other point, you don't have to 'bottom out' the switch. It actuates about half way down, it uses established car horn technology here......it doesn't get louder if you press harder......

I got a brand new titanium LL for $280 off Craigslist so its a win win. I read through many pages of the cera thread and you seem to reign supreme. You apparently love your Cera very much which got me very interested in one myself. I appreciate the detailed reply very much and thank you for your time sir. If I have any questions, I know who to ask. I can't wait to love it!

the button placement is ok... there is a "technique" to hold it (
)... it also good to hold it like this because after a while the body on the top of the cera where the LL cart is gets hot.... and the botton is not as sensitive you really have to push it with your index- or middlefinger, so it wont activate it self that easy...

by the way mine does perfom best if i am putting not to much and not to tight in the cart (0.05 - 0.1g)... i tried 0.2g but i didn t get really vapour out of it and the draw resistance was very strong...

maybe after you managed the technique (cera) you can write a comparison between the cera and pax in the pax thread thank you....

and have fun with your cera... i like it a lot...

You'll will end up loving your cera. Iv been breaking in the pax, and I realize I miss my cera. Watching the core heat up in a dark room After a few bowls has a mesmerizing effect on me lol.It also does produce nice clouds. Hopefully I get mines back by the end of next week. Great customer service.. Tracking it going through the usps system by email.

can you boil your LL cart in hot water? in the user manual you can boil the EO in hot water but... the LL is shown to dry/wet wipe...??? thanks

user manual:

Think I. Read somewhere in this thread that boiling the LL core was not recommended, I clean it with qtips and rubbing alcohol. Which works fine because it does not get too dirty.I would use 91 or 99% ISO to clean it but do not have any at this time. I have two LL cores and ima be honest at say that iv even forgot I had one soaking in alcohol for like a week. Let it dry out and it still worked fine. But I don't recommend that. Sorry to say I really don't know gonna need some more input. From other members..

i even don t need iso to clean it .. i wipe it out with an q-tip when it is still hot... But i ask this question because i was wondering if maybe between the holes int LL cart there is maybe falling grinded herb into the heating element (the glowing thing)... how could you clean that...

I assume that the small particles that would fall through get vaporized when te core heats up? You can also just run the core with no herb to get rid of the rest.

Sure, boil away if you want. But it generally does no better that the recommended routine (which is why it's recommended......). When I got the first LL cart for Beta testing, it came with instructions that anything except the battery and switch could be boiled and to try it all. I did. There's just no advantage to it, unlike the EO cart.

In the LL cart the heater never contacts the goods, it stays clean on it's own. Nothing cooks in, unlike with an EO core. You can also boil T1 (like Revolution/DART), but again, no real gains over a wipe down really.

The core is only very tough ceramic, Stainless Steel (or Ti), and the magic heater wire. Nothing afraid of solvents or heat. No rubber, silicone rubber or even the PTFE (Teflon) insulator used in Revolution/DART.

Boil away, but don't expect better results.

ill gladly do a PAX/Cera comparison.
Im charging the batteries now. I'm gonna be out of town for a few days, so I'll try to figure it out this week and should hopefully have a comparison by the weekend. I want to use it for a few days so I get more familiarized with the Cera.
I'll keep you guys posted. I also want to compare it to my other hand held vapes as well.
Thanks for all the info guys, you guys are the best!

Im pretty new to FC but Im on a mission to find the cleanest portable vape. By clean, I'm talking no chance of inhaling off-gas or any plastics or batteries in the way of the heat or air-path. Someone mentioned the cera LL was the best it gets on that aspect. Since you all are the experts, do you agree? Are there any other competitors out there? I don't mind glass either, I just don't find well done portables... There is always something foreign getting in the way in most of whats out there.

While I too think Cera is probably the best solution available for purists there's also the Bender worth considering. Cera has nothing but ceramic and metal near the vapor, Bender is all glass (the heat is transferred into the load by Infrared Radiation). In the case of Bender, there's noting but glass in contact.

I personally find the Cera better (and easier to control), and while I think that's probably the common experience, there are sure to be exceptions.

I don't think you'll go wrong with Cera, but you asked 'are there others I should consider'......

Regards,

OF

OF... thanks for the response. its crazy that you cant find the Cera anywhere in shops and they are all selling garbage these day(and the volcano). Ill be looking to get one soon. do i need to modify it like all you guys are talking about or the cera LL is great out of the box?

Cera is avaliable online I have not seen any at any shops either. The cera LL is great out of the box, just as long as you know what it is, a mechanical vape. Which I assume you would know based on your research. Mmm vtc4 batteries from sony do make a difference in the core heat up time. But mods.. Idk I havnt done any to mine..clean very clean and surprisingly, cool vapor.
