Ok, so I feel a bit stupid for posting this, because my issues are nowhere near what you guys are describing here so this should be light reading for most of you guys. (by the way, although I don't know anybody here, I still have a strong compassion for you guys/girls)
A while ago I started having extrasystoles (when your heart beats a bit faster right after the previous beat, so it waits a bit longer for the next beat to get back in the rhythm which results in a harder beat that can easily be felt) I felt it every now and then, once or twice but a few times I had them almost every other beat, multiple times in a row, for half an hour or so.
This scared the fuck out of me, so I grabbed my big balls out of the closet and went to the doctor. (I'm not
a doctor guy hence the need for a bigger pair)
That white coated know it all told me it's probably from my mj use, according to him, mj can have an
effect to the heart which could trigger an extrasystole, together with the massive amounts of stress I
feel on a daily basis due to my line of work I could experience more of those.
His advice was....stop vaporizing. I told him I stopped drinking coffee, stopped drinking coke, hardly ever drink alcohol, never smoked etc but he still advised to quit it and relax more (that's why I started using mj as a main reason in the first place !)
So here I am, ready to say goodbye to this awesome herb.
I have to be one of those few who doesn't benefit from mj :ugh:

*edit* five minutes after I wrote this, I was reading cnn news and found this :

So I better listen to my doctor's advice I suppose?
(the comments on this article made me smile though)

The only thing I believe is that whatever I look for about mj, I always find about the same amount of negative as wel as positive info about it.
At the end I have to believe somebody. Our legal system is getting strickter when it comes to mj
so no doctor will tell me vaping is good for me, this will all even get worse after the upcomming elections.

*edit* ps, all this BS began AFTER i started vaping, before that I had NEVER used it, ever, didn't
eat it or smoke it ever in my life

@ataxian, cannabis does have cardiovascular effects... It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to believe that it could be causing something. Hell, I know an old coworker that's allergic to weed. It's really not a 100% safe substance, but comparing it to pretty much every other psychoactive substance, it's relatively benign. It can cause anxiety, depression, euphoria, sedation, analgesia, why can't it mess with the heart for some people but not others?

Hell, if I were feeling it and thought weed were causing it, I'd stop for a while to see what happened.

I was a right winged republican corporate guy before I got late on set ATAXIA (SCA).
In my youth I smoked a few joints recreational. After College I was straight as an arrow. For 3 decades no cannabis. When I went on my medical journey to the worlds top doctors I became worse. These PHD's from top universities gave me {PROZAC, AMBEIN C, VICODONE & many others I can't even spell}.

They made me worse?
When I began vaporing cannabis.
I was better?
Sleep, Nausea, Talking, Walking?
Cannabis made me do these things better?

I had to manage myself?
Modern Medicine failed me?

I may be jaded now.

Don't get me wrong?

I'm not a hater.

I just don't think CANNABIS should be demonized just because it cuts into the mainstream profit center!

I know we all have different reasons we vaporize.

Let's not believe politically swayed science.

I agree with you however I tried to go without cannabis and I become worse?

It helps me!

Just to set the record straight, I'm not trying to demonize cannabis in any way, I LOVE IT, but
I am from nature a very nervous person and with alot of strains I feel that it can make me even
more nervous, not the whole time, but for awhile.
This makes my heart race, makes me worry about those "skipped beats" and results in me getting
even more nervous...
because one of the main causes of those extrasystoles is stress, I do believe that sometimes
I get the opposite effect than what I wanted (wich is stress relieve) with mj.
I'm also not going to give it up, but I'm going to go from using it twice daily to using it once a week
(on my night off) and see what it brings me.
I'm not a connoisseur when it comes to different strains and their effect but for me, the effects
differ a lot of the time, (mabye due to my stress level?) I also get different effects as I vape in different vaporizers. So my super silver haze (to name one) gets me happy and relaxed one day and makes me nervous and makes my heart race the other day.

You and I most likely would be very good friends in real life.

Behind the keyboard who we are and what we believe can easily be misinterpreted.

There are some strains I don't like at all. Others I love.

It's all good!

I just want to tell you.... I TOOK THAT PHOTO! :)

That was in the Aberdeen WA Home Depot. ;) and we LOVE how it has taken off! that was our exact reaction. :)

Next progression of the photo should be the same sign, but standing next to it is the store manager complete in Home Depot attire, holding a roll of TP and smiling! Now that would make me ROFLMFAO!

Vape on and thanks for the Laugh!

If I were you I'd stop using cannabis for a while and see whether the incidence rate drops. If it doesn't, then your doctor is out to lunch. I certainly wouldn't assume that he's wrong yet, though.

You can expect a sharp rise in articles like that as the opponents of legalization try to turn back the tide. I think that particular "study" is a sham put together to discredit cannabis. If you read it, you'll see that there is no research there, just a collection of data from records not intended to investigate this relationship. They have not (indeed cannot) establish a causal relationship. They admit that their "findings" should be compared to the incidence rate in a comparable group, but then give several reasons why they can't—not without bringing in completely unjustified speculation about unexplained unexpected deaths. Expect more scare-mongering crap like this.

Yeah I didn't let that article take away my love for mj, I was just suprised that I found this right after my visit to the doctor.

If I would diagnose myself I would say that the major reason of those extrasystoles are because I have
an increased amount of stress the last two years (started vaping about 3 years ago, began doing it seriously about two years ago mainly to take away the stress) and because I am a nervous person, using mj combined with the "fear" for skipped beats can make me extra nervous, thus increasing the possibility to experience it more.

While I agree that a procedure such as this demands a second if not third opinion;

I predict that @mvapes will be the first cyborg ever to quantify and absorb dabs digitally and directly to his endocanniboid receptors, with the aid of an e-dabbing outboard processing unit that he will pioneer. This will forever immortalize him in the annals of medical cannabis, and usher in an era of compassionate use of medical cannabis technology. It's a new century of medicine folks, and this is only the beginning!

At the very least, this image ^ is the beginning of a wonderful new avatar
