Aloha everyone...been following this forum for quite someime. I finally purchased a Persei with the SR-74. I must say, this thing is beast for real! I've tried other pens but this thing actually knocks out that chemical taste. I may taste a very little at times but for the most part, best tasting.

I've just had a few questions:
1. Do you guys keep your batteries in the Persei when it is stored away while working or do you keep them out then assemble everything for Pau Hana(finished work)?
2. I've been using a large pill bottle to store my new device but it needs to be taken apart in 2. I'm not much of a fan of always assembling so anyone find a cigar tube that is long enough to fit the Persei with the SR-74 attached? It is quite long so I doubt it but it would be nice.
3. How often do you clean the SR-74?

1. I store my persei assembled with the batteries, but I usually don't have the herc attached. Hard to find a portable case that will. I see some people using small pelican cases to store their gear. Also I mark my 18350 battery pairs so that they are charged/discharged evenly.

2 good luck finding this. Not sure why you need it assembled. I use a hard shell sunglasses case that fits the herc and persei together side by side.

3 after a few grams I notice the performance will drop because of gunk from impurities in the wax that gets built up on the rod as a black crust. At that point I disassembly and torch the rod. If it's really funky, then I have to push the rod through from the bottom and out the top. Hit it with a torch for a few minutes and you can get it white. Sometimes you have re-assemble without the oil coil and do dry burns to get it white like new. I found heat from the inside cleans better than from the outside (but this usually uses up a pair of batteri
Then I drop the dirty coil in ISO and put in a spare while that soaks for a day or two.

Thank you for the response and info. My main thing for keeping it assembled is so that I can break it in and out with the quickness. Also, I guess I'm paranoid about the constant screwing of the herc onto the Persei. I am sure I'm worried about nothing since everything seems to be built to last...as long as things are taken care of.

I've used it twice but I will keep in mind the cleaning process. Taking it apart seemed overwhelming but it really isnt that bad.

This is the only 4 bay charger I see listed on Xtar's site, is this model the best out there? http://www.fasttech.com/product/1450115-xtar-xp4-four-slots-ni-mh-li-ion-battery-charger

At this point I have nearly every battery size youve sold except the cr123s. I'd appreciate your input on the best charger that can handle my 14250s up to 18650 (and am about to try some 18490s too...)
Try KidneyPuncher.com. Various Xtar models here. http://www.kidneypuncher.com/ I think they are in AZ.
Also avoids dealing with slo-tech.

EDIT: is there a rule that says we cant name other products in this thread? just wondering why we are treating it like 'those who shall not be named' because it will anger the mod gods.
