Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Anybody has order the D020 through aliEx ( I'm in EU so DHgate is too expensive in shipping) ?
I've seen a few links where to order, but I've been told that even if they show all the same picture, some has 10 slits and some only 5 ?

@Herr_Dampf I think you got the one with 5 slits ? How does it function ? Do you have 10 slits one to compare ?

Thx

Hoi, actually it had 3, the other 2 cuts didn't went all the way through ;)
It wasn't horrible, but not worth the money either. I did have the chance to test the D020 a few days ago but opted out. It did look a bit bigger and overall better quality.
If you want to get free shipping and a nice bubbler I can recommend the line perc to HC bubbler from "All Fun Shop" (formerly known as kathy hu store). Seller now is called Amy Hu but product line up is exactly the same.

If you are willing to put down some extra money, get a Blaze showerhead or cage perc bubbler. They are china glass with german QC, pretty decent quality for the buck and offer designs that usually come at double or more of the cost.

I messaged the seller about purchasing a single unit as a "sample". With the potential for many future buyers. We will see what happens.
It's these lot/bulk orders that have made me consider buying a batch and reselling from the states, with a markup of maybe $10-15 per unit to cover the hassle of shipping/inventory.

Would it be worth my time to set up a simple web cart & paypal checkout? Could keep an inventory of about $500-1000 and ship stateside 3-day delivery or something.

Well shipping costs to Europe are definately not bad when you combine shipping :2c: I mean, 38dollars, that's less then 28euros, for 3 little bubblers. But you do need to ask.

Ordered trough Ali also, got the honeycomb one (without the inline) and love it for dabbing.

Ordered the new pieces because i am expecting my Herborizer XL to arrive end of the week/beginning next :ko:

Nice find! I google searched the image and found this site:
http://yingmin5.en.made-in-china.com/
but the min order here is 120...lots of interesting pieces though...maybe one of these places would send a sample?

Nice find. I see some recyclers over there lets hope they are in our near future. Maybe we should link a dhgate seller and tell them to order some.

Looks pretty tall. Does RooR even make a birdcage perc?
They copied this WITH the ROOR logo, or these are pics of the original? 10" looks like a decent
size. I wonder how tall the can is. I'd love to see this up close. If anyone sees it at a place that will ship oneseys, shout out.

Still only a couple inches taller than the D020 tho...

@Herr_Dampf & @tepictoton

Thanks guys. I'm searching a piece with low diffusion, so HC isn't my way. Also I'm tight on budget and can only afford around 20/30€ with the shipping. I've order a 5-arms bub from ali-ex in the past and I was pretty satisfied even if nothing exceptional with it (offered it to a friend). I can see this D020 being better quality. Through DHgate some are showing with free shipping : like the TKO for ex...

TKO has some fans on here as well, just keep in mind its a male connector in 14mm and you might need an adapter, depending on what you want to connect to it. How ever you decide, enjoy your glass!

EDIT: Yeah, here is one of them, the mighty Ataxian!

Man oh man this YQ42 is a beast! I feel like this honeycomb to birdcage perc may not be the best combo though, some of the percolating water from the honeycomb gets sucked up into the birdcage and can make getting the water level tricky.

That said, best piece I've ever owned by far. It's super thick and heavy glass and the base is nice and wide. Another nice touch is that it comes with a double walled bowl piece vs the shitty single wall that comes with the D020. This thing STACKS bubbles and clears super quickly.

Pics and video coming soon.

How can you condemn the D020?
$28 delivered?
Based on your review I'll get the one you recommend.
Get them all!

I'll get the one you recommend however let's be truthful about the D020!

Ok it's small however it's only $28?
Don't even need to drive?
Get them all!

I think he was just commenting about the bowl slide that comes with the D020 vs the one that came with his YQ42 :) The D020 will always be the Father (or Grandfather at the rate they are pushing pieces out) of all DHGate glass!

I'm not an expert but I have a strong opinion
Maybe this is off topic bit it seems like a good place to ask....how do you guys store your pieces? I have a dedicated cabinet for all of my "supplies" but have been thinking some sort of case might be a good idea. Sure its a cheapy piece and I won't be heartbroken if it breaks but some protection would be nice.

I've been using a large toolbox with a lock lately. Kinda sucks for space and you have stack pieces tightly together (separated by bubble wrap as padding) so it's not ideal, but it's what I have until I move. New place will have a cabinet at the bar in the movie room:science:

I would be cautios ordering LEDs from China. This is a very unhonest market (both led lights and chinese). Over on ICmag forums people often mention real watts vs box watts. Fingers crossed for you though!

It is a shady world of business over there, but I have had great luck with Chinese LEDs in other applications. I use them because of the incredible cost savings, but I trust them so much that we use them for landing lights and for night flying.

CURIOUS QUESTIONS:
How many of you also have high end glass in your lineup?
How often is it used Vs using cheap glass?

With all these great and inexpensive pieces, I am a bit befuddled when I come across a $600 toro and I wonder what a customer might get out of such a piece when there are so many identical clones.

One shop owner this week claimed they are worth every penny, and every blower and herb connoisseur that was worth their salt, has one in their lineup.

I thought hogs balls, but perhaps I just don't get it... what are yalls thoughts?

Not sure how helpful this will be. I just received my "W" to go with my D020 the other day. Both surprisingly excellent pieces. The "W" is a bit bigger and heavier which I like. The workmanship was very good and as my first sidecar piece I like it very much. The view of the action is great. The slits were evenly spaced and nicely cut and all functioned. Highly recommend, and I am a big fan of the standard D020. For comparison standard I have a Mobius Ion (expensive piece of glass). If I give that a 10 then the other two come in tied at 8. I use an EVO as my device of choice and vaping through the Ion is another experience entirely. Beautiful action, virtually no restriction ("Smooth as buddah"), and unadulterated flavor.

My only other piece of "expensive" glass is my only Recycler. Its a Roor that I got through a MassDrop for $300 (about half what ALT sells them for). Over the years every genuine Roor piece I've encountered has been of excellent craftsmanship and this one doesn't disappoint. However, I sure would like to see the Chinese start offering cheap functioning Recyclers. Cheap effective vortex ones are not really available. The vortex on my Roor is fun to watch and the piece upholds their quality reputation.

I have about a dozen glass pieces in my current rotation, of which only two are of the "expensive" variety. Most of the rest come in under $50. What I can't figure out what to do with is all the glass I accumulated over the decades that is more suitable for combustion than vaping!

Clean them and sell them! You can also get some new life by replacing the downstem with a GonG fitting. Then the possibilities are endless. Like this:

I don't personally have any SUPER high-end glass, although I do have the Sheldon Black Concentrator that retails for about $180, as well as a recycler from Cory Glass that's in the $150-$200 range. I have a mid-range bubbler from Glass Blowers Direct, the inline submarine bub that retails for $110. Then I have the D020 and the TKO, for cheaper glass (I have a couple other pieces, but the above reflects my "regular" lineup).

It's hard to say what I use the "most" because I do go through phases. I will say that given the choice, I wouldn't choose to dab with the TKO over either the recycler or the SB--the other two do feel like a more "quality" experience. I even enjoy dabbing through the GBD piece over the TKO. That said, the TKO is an awesome size to carry around the house and, at the price, I have no fear doing so. I usually dab in a fairly "safe" zone in my room over carpet, but when I don't, I most often choose the TKO.

As for flowers, I do most often use the D020. I also enjoy using the GBD inline with my Lotus, and have also used the recycler with the Lotus (even though it's a DI piece). I really don't have any high-end pieces appropriate for flowers, so it's hard to say if a high-end piece could easily dethrone the D020. I will say that I've tried two other AliEx pieces from Kathy's store, a honeycomb bubbler and a honeycomb to eight-arm bubbler (or something...it was a friend's piece), that I really didn't care much for. The honeycomb in particular just had too much restriction and was built crooked and was therefore not all that functional.

My thoughts are that the couple of higher-end pieces I've tried DO feel higher-end than the cheap Chinese glass I've tried. That doesn't mean that the Chinese glass can't be perfectly functional, and in some cases, quite nice. It just means that these Chinese pieces are not exactly indistinguishable from their higher-end counterparts. Also, these Chinese bubblers, while nice and a great value and, honestly, a fantastic addition to anyone's collection solely for the purpose of having glass that you can break without crying, aren't nearly as innovative, unique, and just plain fun-to-use as a lot of the higher-end stuff out there.

I see a place for both categories of glass in most vaporists' collections. I'm not sure that I'll personally ever spend $300+ on a piece of glass, unless my disposable income increases dramatically, but I'm not content to stick to $30 Chinese bubblers, either. :)

Too lazy to build one!

I agree with you!
My wife as never experienced cannabis so to spend money on glass makes no sense to her. (she's my best friend)
At least with the cheap stuff I can stay under the radar and enjoy. One day I'll get a $800 piece from a really good glass artist. For now the CHINESE cheap knock offs are filling a void.
