The Lotus Vaporizer

Does anyone else notice their plate underneath the cap (the one with holes in it) moves up and down like it has bubbles in it. I noticed when I gently cleaned it with a q tip, it got pushed up toward the heating plate. Next load I was drawing on I heard it being pulled back down. I am not sure it would affect performance just curious to see if this is normal.

I took advantage of their 420 sale to get a spare lotus and some screens etc and while I was there I added a spare plate kit with the 15% discount it was cheaper with the shipping than a uk sourced pipe even with import taxes it will work out even but you can't get the spares in uk
Tried vapefiend.com?

A taste on the tongue
Tried vapefiend.com?
Vapefiend.co.uk only has the pipes with the lighters and no spares I did post a question about spares but didn't get an answer so with the 420 discount I just couldn't resist it came to a tenner less than just the pipe which are 95£ everything I ordered came to 80£

I am certain others here can speak with more experience than I, but after having gone through some lighters I would say that anything more than 2 is overkill. Even with two flames, I don't apply heat for more than 3-4 seconds a hit and it stays plenty hot for an 7-8 second draw.

I like the first one you posted the best, simply because you can see when the chamber is getting low.

We butane folks have the luxury of being able to go without power, I don't like looking foolish for not having enough butane:)

Has anyone successfully ordered anything of the Mendocino (lotusvaporizer.com) website lately? I have been trying to order for a few days and it keeps giving me an error about shipping and won't let me check out? Tried different computers and networks and same thing.

I'm just a bit worried that the double flame might leave little room for errors and i'll combust by accident

Yes, from what I see, most people who have a dual flame torch only use it as a single flame. If that torch doesn't allow for the option to disable the second flame, it's probably too powerful for the Lotus (if you do get it to function, it will probably cook only one spot on the bowl, and you won't get an even burn).

However, that second torch you posted - the Jobon torch has been mentioned on here several times. I like that it has what appears to be a pull-out lever to change the flame size without needing an external tool - Seriously thinking about ordering one of those for myself as my Sleek honest and my Zico T-38 aren't performing to my standards so far.

1 flame imo is enough 3 flames could damage the plate a bit easy maybe. I now have learnt that single flame is ample

I got this one last week. What do you guys think? It is double flame but both on the same spot ( turboflame delta v or somethibg like that)

Think about it, sure it's angled to the same point (or close to it) - but you are still double the number of flames therefor approximately double the heat. Sure it *might* work, but you'll have reduced control over your vape temperature, probably cooking your entire load in one draw.

Another problem you might encounter with those angled flames is a lack of a clear 'point' - the two flames might bounce off each other and cause a fuzzy/soft tip, diffusing some of the heat to the surrounding area (which could be bad for the Lotus cap's finish)

Hey guys I have a question, I purchased a mini oil rig, I removed the dome part and all. The very bottom part of the lotus WPA barely fits, it just wont slide down all the way like the top of my ash catcher does or j-hook.

Edit, here is a pic where the WPA does not fit in all the way. Is there some kind of adapter (gong) that I need to purchase to get that perfect fit? The whole glass thing is new to me. Thanks

Just need a dbl female adapter that ends in 14mm for your rig. That's a male glass joint, lotus wpa needs a 14mm female and you will be set. (That looks like an 18mm male so you may need a 14mm reducer too depending on what gong fittings your smoke shop carries)

In other news: Just ordered a lotus yesterday can't wait to try this beast out! I have been keeping an eye on this thread for a looooong time I have wanted that zombie apocalypse flamed powered vape for a while. Finally pulled the trigger, should get some heavy use on my camping trip in a couple weeks.

I had some problems last night with the web store, as have many others. I shot them an email about it.

Hopefully they will reinstate the 15% off code. Real shame to have the website down, I was looking forward to my order.

i just have a question, is the stirring stick removable?? (like a screw?), it could be useful... that you could take it off just in case of portability... plus not having to brake it, and replaceable too

i want to say FC and im new in this forum but been reading a lot lately, i was just falling for the ascent...but i just order a lotus for 4/20 with the 420 15% discount code, im looking forward to get in as i think it has already arrived c: .... will post the news, and thanks for everybody on the forum for helping me make out making this hopefully great decision.

For the J-Hook/Reclaimer set-up, order from the following - tell them Snappo from FC sent you (attach the #3451 code link from above for picture reference):
OGB - michaelandrews@hrecn.net (Reclaimer)
Lotus Glassworks - jesse@lotusglass.com (J-Hook)[/QUOTE]
Got in contact with them. So far only Michael has responded. 30£ reclaimer plus a tenner for shipping to London (2weeks apparently).
However, I've been thinking... Does the reclaimer actually reclaim anything when using dry herbs rather than oils?
Excuse me but I'm an utter neophyte in this particular matter. :p

Lol, that's because you were trying to fit your WPA into a male piece. That's like shoving 2 penises together and saying "it won't fit" ha ha ha. You need to get a female to female adapter. Mike at OGB (listed above) can set you up with the proper adapter. But you need to tell him what size your oil rig male end is (is it 14mm or 18mm - the WPA is 14mm) Your new glass piece has a proper 14mm female end, hence why the WPA fits

Contact Mike, tell him FC sent you. I don't know if you need an 18mm female to 14mm female or 14mm to 14mm - but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out. (Take the 14mm female downstem from your other working glass piece, and try putting it on your oil rig - does it fit?)

i just have a question, is the stirring stick removable?? (like a screw?), it could be useful... that you could take it off just in case of portability... plus not having to brake it, and replaceable too

Welcome to the club! I have the Lotus and the Ascent, both have their pro's and con's. But they are a perfect pair for my lifestyle. The Lotus does take time to get the hang of it, but it's a fun learning experience!

I believe the stir stick is removable (pressure fit, not threaded), but I would never imagine removing it for fear of losing it! It's so handy to have, I simply bent mine out of the way (For clearance on my D020) and used additional epoxy to remove the 'wiggle' created by bending it.

Listed farther back, there's a nice clamshell headphone case on ali-express which holds the Lotus and the WPA perfectly (and only like $4 shipped to the US)

Now I'm off to spend the day shopping for a spare torch or two since I'm not quite satisfied with my current two torches!
