Anybody else running those trustfire 18650s off the website? I ordered two, and it seems one is significantly better, but neither of them are as good as the stock imr. Running a hercules sr 74 on my ss kit persei. Ordered some efest 18350 high drains as well and will report back when those come through. I was fairly happy with the consistency i got from the tenergy 18650 i bought from batteries+ until i dropped it... oh and intellicore i4 charger is the shit.

edit: anyone experience weaker vapor production in the sr 74 with crumbles and drier waxes?

I can't find a picture of it, but a friend just told me that Whoopi Goldberg uses the same vape pen as I use,
Persei with Hercules

yeah I read she likes to call her pen "sippy" but there wasn't mention of the brand AFAIR

I should be getting my package (trade) in today with the Core, Hammer top, extra heat rod to make the bender work more smoothly. I'll post some pics after it gets here.

it's here! :brow:

Vapor > Smoke
So after 3 days of trying to understand how to get the Hercules to perform as its advertise, I am still not confident using this product.

These are my three major concerns/flaws for this product..

1) Maintenance - I realize every vaporizer/cartomizer needs maintenance but every day? That gold spring loaded contact is constantly getting stuck for me meaning I have to take the whole bottom part of the cartomizer apart and soak it in iso.

2) Performance - I have loaded the recommend amount of concentrate in the cart, I power the Persei for about 5 seconds, puffing like a cigar until I see decent vapor being produced and then I go for a slow, long 15-20 second haul until my lungs are full. The problem here is I expected to get a "nail" type hit over these 15-20 seconds that I expected and it just seems like I could get the same results out of the KISS Ti if I went for two 15-20 second hauls back to back.

I have been told its best to let the Hercules cool off a bit after the next use, I don't really get this as no one ever just wants to take one hit and then have to wait 5 minutes to take another? This kind of counters the whole point of getting the Hercules and if you DON'T wait the 5 minutes for it to cool down a ton of product will just melt to the very bottom where that gold spring loaded contact is located making the Hercules non functional. Even if I wait the 5 minutes, after 4-5 sessions that bottom cart is almost 3/4 full with melted concentrate. I have tried using full melts, half melts, dryer honeycomb, same results every time.

3) Hassle to load - With the KISS Ti or Gentleman's Mega V2 it requires next to nothing to load more product, you take off the top mouthpiece or either unscrew it and load. With the Hercules, take off the mouth piece, unscrew the very sticky top safety cap, and reload. I think the accessory THC was talking about would work wonders if you could just pop it on and off or I would recommend getting rid of the Retaining Collars / Screen in the mouth piece and just send a silicone mouth piece and make the mouthpiece itself slide in/out instead of screw in/out.

That being said I wont be giving up on it just yet, My major concern is the product that is melting past the coil, no matter what I do it just seems inevitable.

Any additional feedback would be great. Just to make it clear, this is just feedback, not trying to bash the product or anything :D

Thanks!

Hi there caporoot! I can't really help you with number 3, but I feel like I can help you with number 2, and if you can get 2 down, 1 will be resolved on it's own.

The issue here is that you're treating cooling down like a passive action. It's not. You should be giving a constant pull through the hercules without pressing the power button during cooling down. You should cool your hercules down after use. However, by after each use, we typically mean each session rather than each hit. So if you start your hercules from a dead cold start, then hit it for 20 seconds, then hand it off to your friend, and he hits it for another 20 seconds, your friend is probably going to die as his head slowly implodes whilst his face melts away. At this point, you can continue hitting it and passing it if you like. As long as it's being hit and vaping consistently, you will not leak. Now, once you and your friend are finished hitting it for the time being, cool it off. I cool my hercules off if I think i'm going to go more than a full minute without it being hit. So, if during your vaping session, you and your friend both hit the pen twice for a total of 80 seconds, and then decide you're reasonably medicated, you would want to take 80 seconds to draw cool air through the unit to cool it off.

For hit technique (using 7.4v SR74 rod), what I like to do is this:
hold power for 4 seconds
begin drawing gently while still holding power for 3-4 seconds
while still drawing, alternate 3 seconds on, 3 seconds off pulses

I find that this gives me great clouds without getting a burnt taste. The hercules is, in my opinion, a portable electric nail with a nearly limitless amount of vapor to give. You can't handle it. You can't tame it. You won't be able to out-lung it. But you have to learn how to use it first. You see, it's this 5 minute passive cool down period you are taking which is actually causing your oil to leak and forcing you to clean your unit so much. Since getting my SR74 rod, I've probably ran 4 grams through it and leaked only the first 3 or 4 days, sans when friends and noobs hit it. I q-tip the threads with iso every few days, but even that really isn't necessary.

hope this helps

I had the same issues as you. Charge your batteries. Unload and clean your herc. Squish 1 Ti coil between 2 quarters as hard as you can with your fingers on a hard surface. With your rod out replace the coil. This should create a better seal and stop your oil from leaking down while also making more contact with the rod. Load .5 and pulse until melted. Do cool down hits. Should be ready to go now. I do 4 seconds on 4 secs off til I'm gonna cough. I'm a heavy dabber and 2 hits satisfies me. I than dry hit the herc every couple seconds until there's no longer a bubble popping and it draws air freely. Works like a charm. Every single time. Hope I could help as I'm a new user but this worked for me.

1. It should not need maintenance every day. Something is wrong for sure.

2. Could be multiple issues but we are willing to find out for sure. You dont need to wait to use the herc between hits who ever told you this might be thinking about the regular essential oil cartridges.

3. Pm me your order number lets see if we can get you worked out and up and running. Because this does not sound like normal Hercules behavior.

Not sure if any one has mentioned this but you should also store the Herc on its side when you're done using it. I rest it at a very small angle so oil doesn't run towards the mouthpiece either. I had a lot of leaking for a while but takings cool down (no button) rips and laying it down when I'm done have really helped. I'm not sure why you're not getting the clouds you're looking for. As many folks here have also said, in my experience when this thing hits it hits real hard. Good Luck!

@caporoot I think you should call w9 and speak with G to get some direct help.

My hercules is incomparable to a dab from a nail. It hits harder and is more effective maybe to effective.. I've over medicated many times with the hercules lol! Like @itschad said you only need cool it down when your session is over. The hercules still produces vapor even after disengaging the button.

@THC SCIENTIFIC I NEED a Mech Top!! Maybe even with the option for "click on click off" OR "momentary" I could dial in with the Core and ride the button( OR just click on) with my Herc all night long!:freak:

Taking my Herc for a road trip tomorrow but it will be the first time I'll be using one of the TI coils. I know that most have recommended a buffer of .3 and then another .3 on top. My question is, should I add .3 first and let it absorb into the coil or should I simply throw .6 in there at once? I know it may seem like a noobish question but I'm not trying to have any complications when away from the house.

Vapor > Smoke
Tried all the recommended steps above. Still the same results.

The top of my white rod is black now, is this a problem? Have I screwed up my rod now?

Just disappointing to hear that this thing will produce dab like hits and all I can get out of it are super small hits

THC I've PM'd you, shoot me back when you have time.

Thanks everyone for the feedback at this point I think its they Hercules itself. First a faulty Persei and then the Hercules now functioning to its potential.. Ugh lol

.3 then .3...also squish the coil between two coins first if you havent read that already. I used a clamp to squish it. Worked like a charm no more riding up

That is normal with the rod. If you clean it out and do a few dry runs itll get back to white.

Cant help you with anything else cause i have the 71

Thanks! So should I just pulse the button until the first .3 seeps in or should I be hitting it during the initial buffering?

no, let it soak in. I like to pulse the button with the cap removed so I can look down and see whats going on. That way Im sure not to overhear the oil. Remember, the coil and rod retain a lot of heat after it starts to build up. Kinda like stopping a moving train at that point. It takes a while to cool.
