Gear Best Clearo for Pure Gold?

Haywood

I'm using a joyetech ego c at 3.7V. I don't know what the problem is. I'm never hitting it for more than 3-5 seconds. Don't know why I keep getting the vapor lock. Maybe the problem is w my battery. No idea why this is happening. The same thing has happened to me on the past w puregold.
It doesn't seem like a battery "problem" if just removing and reinserting the fill plug fixes the problem every time. And since it's happened in the past to you, I doubt it's a defective Sapphire clearo (unless maybe they were all from the same shipment). I'm assuming that you're talking about GotVapes Sapphire brand of the "Buddy Tech" clearos, as I found that when I ordered (years ago) the "Buddy Tech" clearos from other places, they were sub standard compared to the ones I got from GotVapes. Not sure this is still the case though, due to reports here that buying directly from "Buddy Tech" provided wonderfully working clearos. And GotVapes is still out-of-stock of the Sapphires. :(

So I guess I'm at a loss as to why you have to go through the unplug-plug routine essentially every time you use it. I just push the (battery) button, take a three second hit, release the button, continue to take a two second hit, and then fall down. Compared to my other concentrate adventures, doing Pure Gold in a Sapphire clearo is the easiest and most consistent experience I've found. (I partake of wax/shatter/budder/etc. in a dripless atty way more than I do Pure Gold).

Yeah they are the same from gotvapes. I bought them after reason your posts 6 months ago or so, they are the v4. Today I also noticed that it doesn't vapor lock when I leave the cart on the battery but it happens not everytime but frequently when I unscrew the cart from the battery to store it. Any ideas?

Hey haywood this is off topic and i apologize but what is your preferred method for non pure gold extracts. What dripless atty do you use? Just curious because while i've had trouble with it, the sapphire carts changed the pure gold / travel game for me and I found it via your suggestions so i'm just curious.

I have V4's here but I never remove the Sapphire from the battery, except when I'm changing batteries. Maybe that's the clue? Try leaving the battery on all the time and see if that "fixes" things for you.

Wrong thread. I'll answer you in the correct one, and flag you with an @Alevin so you can find it and read the thread. :)

Leaving the cart on the battery has fixed the problem. Haven't had one vapor lock in a day in a half with a lot of use.

Sorry for the double post. I've been off the forums too long.

Last question: when you travel do you find it better to leave it on the battery or have it loose and unattached. Not sure which is more inconspicuous. Also, do you use a specific brand of ejuice you bring that looks like puregold as cover?

Thanks again for all the help Haywood and others. I really appreciate it and I hope that this helps other people who have the vapor lock issue

I leave the battery on and since I vape nic via e-juice, I also have an identical rig with e-juice, and a couple of small bottles of e-juice and assorted accessories that make up my "kit".

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread, and to let you know another source for the Bud eGo Cartomizer Covers.

I've been dreaming of a way to have a super stealth way to enjoy cannabis. I just found out about EJMix from Liquidizer and am beyond ecstatic.

After many hours of reading, I have settled on the following setup:

-GotVapes Sapphire Bud Atomizer v5

-Vision Spinner Variable Voltage 450mah

That was almost perfect for me. I needed a super stealth setup that could easily slip into my pocket or bag with the cart/tip protected. The one thing that was missing was the cover for the cartomizer. After searching around on the net, I was able to locate two sources for the cover/cap. Unfortunately both sources are international (China and UK).

bud_ecig_dust_cover_and_cap_kit.jpg

The first source I found (and the one I ordered) is Ecigaretteb2c.com. The cover and cap are only $5, but shipping to the states was $25.

The other source for the cover/cap that I found is VapeHit. They are based in the UK, and the total with shipping to the states was closer to $40.

You'll notice, this cover/cap is slightly different then the one posted on the Aussie site. The one from Australia is tapered, it does not allow the top cap with pen clip to be screwed onto the cover. From what I've found, the tapered cover is called "VGO Cone", where the one with the screw on cap is called "EGO Cone".

For me, having that top cap was essential, I want to put it in my pocket and not worry about it getting dirty or anything getting into it. Plus, I think it adds to the stealth factor slightly. I'm hoping the cover/cap I get does NOT have the "BUD" logo on it. I see it on the kits, but not on the individual covers. Having the word "BUD" on it kind of takes away from the fact I don't want people to know what's in there! I know their "BUD" is short for Buddy...but still! If it has it, it will either be removed or covered up. Will update when I receive it.

Also, Ecigarretb2c.com also has starter kits for the Bud Ecig, but I wanted a different battery so I didn't go that route.

So once again, thanks to everyone here. Having THC ejuice in an ecig really is a game changer for me. Can't wait to take this thing to my next concert!

Dude! Thanks for posting this! The dust cover with cap is exactly what I need to put on my ego C mini with sapphire style cart. I just ordered the dust cover and cap thanks to your post. Does the dust cover just screw on to the EGO? Or does it snap on?

thx!

^^^No problem, glad you found it helpful! The dust cover screws onto the battery, and the cap screws onto the dust cover.

Regarding my own personal quest for my ideal e-cig device, I'm still currently using Kanger EVODs. Some heads work for the whole tank with minimal leaks. Others will start leaking like a sieve after some unknown trigger.

I've found that when I get a leaky head, I open it up and am able to add another stand of wick to the head in order to help combat leakage. I just use some wick from spare head.

However, I've lost far too much THC goodness to keep down this route. It's no big deal if you're leaking some cheap eliquid, but this stuff costs me somewhere in the neighborhood of $40/mL!

My next step is to move into a cartomizer/tank setup. I ordered two 15 mm tanks, from IBTanked. I ordered one XL length, and one half length. The standard eGo battery is 14mm diameter, so it's just a fraction larger then an eGo battery. They offer larger diameters with larger capacities if you're not corned about the size, or using it on a larger battery.

The tanks are glass, and you have quite a few options for color/styles. Phiniac is also a tank site that's highly recommended around the net. I didn't go with them because their smallest diameter tank is 17mm. They have nice looking sandblasted options though.

For my cartomizer choice, I selected the Nitro series, by IkenVape. IKV is generally regarded as having the highest quality cartomizers, you just have to find them when they're in stock. Apparently IKV are made by the same factory that makes Boge cartos, but they make them to the specs of IKV.

Sunk a little bit of money into this latest venture, but I'm ready to find something that provides quality vapor production with near zero leaks.

The Sapphire never leaked on me, but the performance left something to be desired. Other bottom coil clearomizers seem to have better vapor production, but leaks are major turn off. I want to have my cake and eat it too!

As usual, I'll report back with my findings. Hopefully a few people learn from my experiences!

@Roth: You may find interesting my "review" of the Kanger Mini ProTank 3 in the one-hitter-quitter thread here. Particularly since (so far) I am liking it much better than our beloved Sapphires for Pure Gold. Not quite as stealthy, and it's still too early to know for sure but...

Very nice, I'll keep an eye out for your updates about using it. Already ordered the tanks and IKV cartos, so going to try those out. Will probably still pick up a mPT3 once they're available stateside. Thanks for the heads up!

Queer in a high haze
Okay, it's been a while since I have been here, but still have been vaping, and messing around with my own mixture, and e-cigs(both for oils/wax/hash and of course quitting smoking cigars).

Now for the upcoming holiday I am getting some pure gold from a friend. I want to be sure, I have the Globe, the Vision Nano, and the Cloud tank(which they claim is for solids, but I am sure I can drip it on the coil or mix it with the solids). Which, would you guys suggest will be the most effective method for pure gold? This will be my first time using pure gold. I right now have ego twist and evod twist(1300mah), which start at 3.2v and go up to 4.8v, and I remember mentioned on the first page that about 3.2v was the sweet spot. I also have a 510 300mah mini 3.3v(or is it 3.7?) auto-pen/stylus, as the other two are way larger. Thank you.

Edit: I also have a BCC mega tank, with a 1.8ohm, 2.2ohm and 2.5omh atomizer, if that's some how a better option to use with pure gold.

Edit 2: I was reading through this thread, and in one of the links noticed that the min auto-pen/stylus I have is this model(in black) with that same exact atomize, though it doesn't have the bud name on it. Will that particular atomizer work? If so, out of all the atomizers I have; Globe, Vision Nano, BCC mega tank, and this generic bud tank, which will be the most effective/efficient to use pure gold with? Thanks.

First pen had a heater issue, caused the cart to leak. Both were replaced promptly. Dealt with two people, a guy and a gal, both were nice, concerned, admitted to some email difficulties on their end. Email contact continues to be difficult.
Regarding using Gold in the pen:
It is an easier, more efficient way to deliver Gold than the original Omicron cart or the Revolution Dart. Two or four seconds on the button is all it takes for a lungful. If you press much longer it gets harsh. It's very easy to use the pen, stealth factor is probably incomparable. I haven't yet, but the carts are refillable and seem a bit easier to load the the Omi cart or the Dart.
But taste is not equal to Gold in a properly working Omicron cart. It's a bit harsher and there's a hint of plastic, but your sensitivity may vary.
Just received a prototype 1701 cart from Delta9Vapes and will compare it to the three I've mentioned and report back.
PURE GOLD!

CARTOMIZERS are low tech however work on many devices.

Well it will be my first time trying pure gold so I'm not sure what would be the best out of the products I own. Thank you.

@lesvape: I tried the Vision Nano before I settled on the GotVapes Sapphire. It worked pretty good, had a nice airy draw, but it leaked a little now and then, particularly when it was warm. I've been using the new mini Protank 3 with undiluted Pure Gold the past week, and I love it. See my review of the mPT3 in the one-hitter-quitter thread. I've never used a CE4, so I can't advise you, but @ataxian should be able to.

In general, what has worked the best for me with Pure Gold, is something that has a bottom coil atomizer. If you watch out for leaks, the Nano you have should work. Your genetic Bud may be wonderful, or may suck. I settled on the GotVapes Sapphire version of the Bud after having bad leaking problems with some early Bud versions (before the blue plug). Reports here indicate that current generic Buds work fine.

Well I had e-cig liquid and homemade glycerin hash mix in the Nano and never had leak. But, I take it is different with the pure gold in it? I'll go to my local vapor bar and see what they have in terms of kanger products, I may try that out. I kind of want to try it with the generic bud, but that's filled with home made tobacco mix. The model I have also has the blue plug. If I go say with a kanger tank I take I should set my battery to 3.3v or do you suggest another setting? Also what ohm version of the kanger do you suggest??

What do you mean by undiluted pure gold?

@lesvapeI've never used a CE4, so I can't advise you, but @ataxian should be able to.

I have a bunch of C4's however I've been using the PRO TANK lately.
YiOb1pI.jpg

Super easy and nothing to figure out.
C4 with CO2 OIL.
Only 1 or 2 rips max otherwise I get a horrible headache.
It never bothered me before however I have to go easy on oils.
SHATTER well purged is better for my case.

I just load THC oil. 31% (very nice)
PURE GOLD undiluted I may revisit.

Next month I plan on having some SHATTER.
I use the HERCULES for that at 7.4 volts.

I bought a Kanger T3D with a 1.5ohm and 2.0ohm and found out that the coils is interchangeable with the PT3. The T3D looks to be the same size as the mPT3. And from the reviews I have seen the standard T3 doesn't offer user replaceable coils, and leaks, while the T3s adds replaceable coil, it still leaks. Neither of these models offer user replaceable tips. The T3D on the other hand doesn't seem to leak at all and offers a user replaceable tip. In fact it almost looks mPT3, but at a lower price. I haven't tried it with PG, but with e-cig liquid it works very well imho, with good taste, vapor production, and efficiency. It could be an option for people.

BTW, what is the best way to load pure gold into something like the PT3?

The most important thing is to keep the tank warm as you're filling. I use a hair dryer - I warm up the tank, squeeze a drop or two, put it back in the hot air, squeeze another drop or two, etc.

Do whatever you can and take all the time you need but make sure prevent anything from going down the center tube. If you do, it's a real mess.

Then, once it's filled, turn it back over and let it sit for 15-20 minutes to let everything slide down.

You'll need a few pulls to get the PG sucked fully into the wick but once it gets going - watch out! Cloud 9 express!

The best thing? Load up a few PG capsules in there (the minis will hold 3 no problem) and you have a sleek, stealthy vape you can pick up and draw on for a month or two, lol. I've had no leaks whatsoever and I toss it around carry it around in my bag, etc.

Burn out a coil? It's less than 2 dollars to replace. I got a 5-pack for $7.50. I really am liking this setup.

It certainly won't replace my Omicron or Luna, but for on-the-go, I don't think it gets much easier.
