Discontinued The Sublimator

CG420

Over the horizon u can see the edges of the Earth
Been using my sublimator on override mode for a while now. I'd say I've been doing it since the upgrade was announced although too expensive and not worth it to me. Box has been very quiet. No buzzing noise and I override for over 5 hours and up to 8 or 9 hours. Most times it is idle and runs on either 34 or 48 depending if I want to dab or taste flowers. My max wattage is 57/58 now. Dabbing on max is awesome.

@jambandphan03 what is your max wattage?

I think we're in the very small population that still has the first ever iteration with just the lamp dimmer switch.

I have the OG too and my Max is around 34 watts. That works for me as I stay at 31 and I don't use it for dabs. If and when it drops past 31 I will think about replacing the dimmer to see if it goes back to full power. When it was new, 48 was the MAX right out of the gate. Anyway I still love this thing and I have no interest in upgrading.

I just got this new rig for my beloved sub. It took me a while to find something I like, so I just figured I would show it off. :)

The the ratchet perc on this rips hard!

I'm definitely looking forward to some serious sub action tonight!

I need to get a 14mm to 14mm extension adapter so the sub can sit a little higher and it can chug better with the recycler. It's still great how it is though.

This isn't my video, but you can see how it works here:

Mine too was at 48 max out of the gate; wondering why some people have it up to 60.

I can get 64-67 watts depending on which dimmer I use, but never turn it past 60.
And only on 60 for a few minutes of cleaning/burn-off.
With the original dimmer I never made it past 59 watts so there's still hope!
In actual usage mine never goes past 39 for sublimate, or 33 for flowers.

So what i am gathering is that I should stay away from the older versions due to the timer box being faulty and go with the new XLR 2.0? The Sublimator looks like such a great concept, having a expensive piece of equipment consistently fail is bull though. Does Sublimator acknowledge that there is a problem? Are they fixing these faulty boxes?

That sucks!
Has it been mostly the timer versions failing? Or the OG units with the brown switch and no timeout?

Well truthfully I don't like the xlr version either because I think the cord from the control box is too short and it would be more difficult to make longer...... but I 'm sure they sell longer guitar cord somewhere.....

I made my cord longer on my version 1 sub... cause I wanted it longer..

its not the timer that fails it is the dimmer switch... or the knob you turn that seems to fail or not give full range of wattage..

when @grokit replaced his with this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004GIDW70/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

he got the full range back...

The head on my Appolo still shows resistance 292 ohms so I think it is ok just the dimmer failed , I hope

I think the reason they made the new XLR version was because of this and the new version is lower voltage directly to the head on the Apollo. Very few electronic item that you hold so close to your face are 120 volts... some lawyers probably suggested he change it... lol

why they wanted to charge so much to upgrade his most loyal fucking customers ( US the origanal people who watched his videos and bought his product before anyone else even knew about it ) I will never understand, maybe I need a dab from the slab...... lol

Thanks. Cant seem to make up my mind. There are still a few older versions out there with the time box like yours. Just don't want problems down the road.....but that may be wishful thinking.

The upside of the older version is that once you convert it,
you can use your own dimmer/timer boxes .

I think the fact that the last post in the *new* Sublimator for "eXtremely Ludicrous Retards" thread was almost three weeks ago speaks volumes about how unpopular the Sub has become on account of inherently poor customer service and unnecessary greed.

It's a shame that such a wonderful product is going to end up losing everything and everyone except its core supporters; who, incidentally, are the ones who have been given the biggest shaft by @Enrico and the company as a whole.

@Detonator, I'm glad that you're back online with the amazon dimmer,
but sorry to see that you didn't get a bigger wattage bump.

To be fair I never had a wattage issue with my unit, just the buzzing.

edit:
@hassan, you have always been one of the sublimator's great supporters so I'm sorry that you are joining the ranks of malcontents! But not surprised because of the issues you raised.

The sublimator is well-machined and pretty well designed from a mechanical standpoint, at least some of the 1.0 models seem to have a future. I wonder if it's individual usage patterns or something else that is making some of the units lose wattage.

Fuck, I'd be a rep for Sublimator any day. I practically already am, I just don't get paid for it.

I think if people realized how efficient the machine is you'd see many more units out there. It's totally worth the investment if you toke every day.
How can you not get pumped about the sub when it has so many features?
-"sublimation" or smaller molecules for better taste/high
-1 hit vaporization
-huge plumes
-ability to dab concentrates
-double deckers
-sub oil
-saves weed
-no stale vapor
-easy bong adaptation
-no water necessary
-people ask "wtf is that" when they see it for the first time
-did I mention it gets you super ripped?

My best friend who subs with me a lot calls it "The Bentley of smoking devices"

That being said, is the subculture going to expand much further? Most people who have tried mine really enjoy it, but they say they'd never buy one because of the the price, dangerousness, heat up time, etc...

I know a bunch of us on this forum really care about this product and want to get out there and see this thing prosper. Hey Enrico, pay me!
