Who's expecting too much? The EVO is used by MANY people in ways that don't involve a HT. VXL sells HT's because it's a unique product to their line of vaporizer. Why wouldn't they want to capitalize on a lucrative, beautiful, and functional accessory? Just because they don't sell standard bubblers/glass doesn't mean it can't/shouldn't be used with it. You're acting like people that don't use a HT are somehow misusing the EVO.

No one in this thread is trashing VXL about the concentrate attachment being HT only, merely expressing our disappointment that we won't be able to enjoy it.

I understand VXL does not have the power to control gravity around me, and I do not fault them for their lack of ability to do so! I was never promised a concentrate attachment when I bought the EVO, it was simply a nice bonus that I unfortunately won't be able to take full advantage of for a while.

I will still likely pick on up and experiment with it using my standard mouthpiece.

I concede the point to Mr McGuire ;)

Any standard or dry mouth pieces will work beautifully with the VHNail attachment, this is it with I tested it.

@Seek - Our engineers are still testing solutions, please keep an eye on your unit when you use it.

To play devils advocate, it is listed on their hydratube page in the shop...
Lets call it 1-1 ;)

It would depend on the adapter...

I really can't visualize how a universal adapter would work...

I'm guessing separate adapters will look sleeker, and be a bit cheaper if you only need 1 size, but more expensive if you need multiple sizes?

Sorry, this might make it easier:

Option 1 - One adapter + 3 attachments (18mm, 14mm, 10mm)

Option 2 - 3 separate adapters, one of each size (18mm, 14mm, 10mm)

There are def benefits to both but I'm curious to get your thoughts...

^For sure, and I definitely plan on picking up the concentrate attachment for that very reason. I just enjoy the water cooled aspect quite a bit. So I'll just need to play around and see what works best for me.

So option 1 sounds like a lot of keck clips or things to fall off. I like option 2 for the simplicity.

Would option 1 cos roughly 3x the price of option 2 if i was to buy one of each size for option 2? I think if option 1 was a lot cheaper than option 2 then people would prefer that? Is offering both options not possible?

Really?? Their indefinite QC mishaps say otherwise.:\

I agreed, QC is an important part of the equation of course. But I wouldn't call it “mishap” yet. I would rather call it “growing pain”.

Here’s why; Maybe I know where VXH come from having following them since the very beginning, maybe I have a slight sense of what’s they put on the line for our community and most importantly, maybe I have an idea of where they’re going and because of all of this, they certainly deserve my endorsement.

SIDE NOTE:
Profit is also part of the equation like any other business but never less, theses peoples are on a mission a mission that I like and support fully. I support their creativity, I support their will for pushing innovation and limits and I support their love for THIS community.

I am confident that they will prevail :rockon:and all this “growing pain” will soon be history. VXH will deliver because they always did!

So I stand by my point and as long as they stay genuine I will do so.

Hey Seibo,

I would lean toward three separate dedicated adapters. One less (main) piece to lose or break and a cleaner/simpler connection. Why bother with two pieces for each size when one will do.

Peace from NY. ;)

I've got another 2 overheats.
Luckily, I've found out really soon in both cases so it didn't make it very far beyond MAX temp.
"Only" an orange glow from the heater (It should only gets sligthly red there on MAX).
On the first overheat the whole heater was bright orange and the glass was glowing as well all the way to the bottom of the GonG.
...

I think these 2 cases actually weren't overheats.
I've found out that when I turn the unit off just when it hits green (even on low temp like noon) I can see bright orange glow from the heater, that is brighter than the red glow on stable heat-soaked MAX.
I think the heater needs to heat more when the unit is not heat-soaked so the temp is actually correct.
When I leave it on green for a while and let it heat soak, the heater slows down after a while when it desn't need to heat so much to keep the temp correct.
So a bright orange glow from the heater seems to be normal if the unit is not yet heat soaked.

But the first case was definitely overheat. A lot of glass has been glowing bright orange then. Not only the heater.

Of course us inverted users assumed/*wanted* the all glass concentrate attachment to work inverted.

But to call it "stupid" because it doesn't is not only needlessly insulting, it illustrates a mindset of irrational entitlement and a lack of logic or experience with other concentrate attachments.

I have another device with a dedicated oil concentrate attachment, that device can only be used 'upright' as well. Those who use nails/dabbers also deal with a certain orientation.

Accessories/add-ons are optional. If they don't do exactly what you wished they did, that's how it goes, and it's pretty darn normal in the electronics industry.

I dont give a hoot about the concentrate attachment because I dont have access but it sure seems like to me it wouldnt be too tough to design an attachment that could be flipped either way. Might have to really stay after it to keep it clean but I dont see why you couldnt do that.

Based on the design of the current attachment, which seems quite good IMHO, there really is no easy way to make it invertible ...

I was finally able to pick up my freshly repaired EVO (broken bamboo after I knocked it off the table).

I sure did miss this thing! Only had time for one ELB, but it was quite enjoyable!

I did notice that when looking down the top of the GONG, the top restriction "plate" for the bamboo is quite a bit higher then my previous one. Just curious if this was a conscious design change, or just the nature of hand blown glass?

Everything seems to be working well though. My ABV wasn't quite as dark as before, but I definitely felt like I got everything out of the bud. Lots of variables though, could be the change in the bamboo, or I could just have missed the last hit in it. Like I said, was in a hurry, so it could have easily been me.

In regards to the attachment question, I'd prefer 3 separate attachments, 1 for each size. The cleaner look of a single piece of glass is much more appealing to me. And I could be way off on this, but it seems most people have glass of one size?

Almost there...
Talking about the concentrate tool, there could be an easy solution to make it invertable!
Although no-one is sure of the design, so this is just a guess...

If the concentrate holder has a small bowl shape that holds the concentrate, why could they not add another inverted bowl to the other side? Voila, reversible!

Please excuse the very rough paint sketch...

From @Fame Is A Vapor 's post a couple pages back ...

"It looks like a test tube, or a giant hollow nail, with slits cut into the bottom, in a couple different sizes & places."

"it has a convenient lip with a short stem on top that stays cool enough to let you pull it back out by hand, and it keeps the nail from dropping onto the final restriction inside the bamboo"

/******************************************************************************/

If you invert the EVO the glass "nail" will fall out unless it was "clipped" in there somehow (even without concerning oneself with the issues of what would happen with the concentrate, this alone is a pretty big issue to be able to "clip" something glass inside the EVO bamboo and still allow it to fit on an 18mm female GonG connection ...)

Is there any benefit at all to use a hydro tube that they sell when smoking herb? I've got a nice bubbler but want to use this thing for optimal results.
It's definitely optimized for it, in my opinion. I've never regretted my hydratube because it has always gotten the most use, using the vapexhale as a daily driver.

I think the EVO was desinged to be used with a HT as it really excels with one.
Using the EVO with my bubbler works just as well but it seems to lack something, the flavor is not quite the same and i find i need to turn it up a it more.
This could all be linked to airflow through the piece though.

All i can say is i reach for the HT when the EVO is on.

That just happened...
I notice the trend in the herbalizer thread is people adapting it to work with a hydra tube and turning it into a cloud like device. Imagine if they started getting bent out of shape because using their herbalizer upside down is awkward. It can be done but the form factor begs it to be used right side up.

The cloud works upside down but honestly from an engineering perspective it was designed to be used right side up.

Actually the Herbalizer has a tilt sensor so if you tilt it too much it turns off.
Upside down use would render it useless i would think!

My HT has gotten the least amount of use with my EVO. I do enjoy it because of the flavor but my Mobius creates the smoothest hits I've ever experienced. I really rotate my glass for use with the EVO. Two weeks ago, I was getting great pleasure out of white-walling my 16" double honeycomb piece. Last week I used the HT because of that smell issue (which magically seems to be gone now) and now I've been favoring the Moby this week.

Variety is the spice of life.
