Help/advice requested:

Tried a search for this problem, but phrasing is key and I guess I didn't have the key.

Just got my Pro on Friday and it worked fine yesterday until the evening. I unplugged it (showed all blue bars indicating charge). But when I turned it on all I got was like a christmas tree display of blue lights for about 10 seconds and then it shut down.

If I leave it plugged in it works fine. I tried starting the cycle at stage two (green) while it was plugged in. When it got up to temp I unplugged it and the blue lights immediately started flashing. And a few seconds later it shut down. Plugged it in and it showed fully charged, but ran through the blue lights a couple of times before stopping on full blue.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a bad battery issue- the 5 blue lights flash like that whenever it's about to turn off on you due to the battery being spent.. I guess what I would try is to replace the battery myself, but your mileage may vary here- so I'd suggest calling VB; though again- mileage may vary (it seems)

As for @$unnyblaq , sounds like you should try a glass or ceramic PonG mod a la BarnBoy

nnyblaq, post: 579311, member: 17427"]So last nite i used my pnp with just the pong and everything was great. After jus one cycle i was emptying my bullet when i saw a piece of plastic broken off in the bullet. So even using this straight up the pong cracks. The plastic cant take the heat of this unit they need a better solution i love my pnp but this is crazy.
Im curious how hot did you go during your session?

BBP stands for Barn Boy Productions!

I wish that I was there at the show.

Post the link to the chick's KRS freestyle vid if you ever end up getting your hands on it.

I caught a show with KRS, Jeru, Beatnuts, DJ Honda back in the day.

The underground is thriving... thankfully.

Glad to hear you're supporting the real.

I caught Immortal Technique and JMT live too.

I recently went to a Pete Rock and CL, and a Ras Charmer show where I brought my Pinnacle Pro to.

At the Pete Rock show, we held down one end of the bar, and the bartender let me plug my charger into the power bar so we were ripping the PNP all night.

I know there is a show coming up at a venue that isn't that herb friendly, so I'm definitely going to implement @BarnBoy 's suggestion and drop some e-juice to mask the smell.

The best thing about the PNP is because of the slender profile, people automatically assume that it is an e-cig!!!

"Grind it, pack it, vape it, pass it"

@Sativape - But JUST DO IT!!!

So my wife got some free tickets to a San Jose Giants game from our State Farm agent. What better way to test stealth of the PNP right? Now one has to be careful of X-Ray and metal detector security schemes; the BarnBoy has a few clever ways. But this story is of the picture above. Because not more than 60 seconds after taking this photo, which was near the end of the 2nd full 8 minute session on a bullet, a couple of San Jose’s finest walked past. I stupidly flinched and tried to hide the PNP and they whirled about to start the question process…

COP – Is that a Vape-Pen?
BB – :shit:Ahhh:shit:, yes… :shit:
COP – May I see it? (I sheepishly show him) So why did you try to hide it when I walked past?
BB – Because a lot of folks are really tweaked by these things they are all head line news these days (as I show him it a bit more)…
COP – (laughs) Yeah, ok. Please turn it off sir, this is a smoke free facility…
(Exit the BB to clean underwear later….)

So to celebrate yet another near miss with the PNP the BarnBoy would like to host a contest with a custom BarnBoy Proto2 PNP Car Charger as the prize. I am trying to get the eyes/ears of @vtac who controls said contest on the FC forum. But here are the basic rules and guidelines. DO NOT POST YOUR STUFF NOW, wait until the contest is finalized. But here is the idea. My kids had to do photo journals with something called “Flat Stanly”, a small paper doll they color and then have photos taken of them when traveling during school. We had one teacher require rubber chickens (was a bit more fun!). Ok, so the idea of the contest is JUST HOW STEALTH IS YOUR PNP. Take uncompromising photos of your PNP while you play. Winners name and address will only be used to ship the BB Proto Car Charger. I will customize the lengths of the 12V and PNP cords to your exact needs (4 feet or less). The winner will be determined by most LIKES (I assume) and if there is a tie, winner will then be determined by what I call a “merit score” and defined as:

Merit Score = (#LIKES/2 - #POSTS)/#POSTS

If this is all blessed, I would like to launch the contest once this thread hits the 200 page of posts. I still need to work out all the final details with @vtac; when the contest ends, if the above is OK, etc….

How does that sound so far???

BarnBoy, I bought myself a baby bottle nipple today. Are you buying the small or the size 6 + months size? I bought a 6 month size, it seems big, but the gong isn't wobbly like it was. Thanks for the good ideas.

Hey guys, we got a Pinnacle and it is pretty badass... have used it while grocery shopping even in the check out line and no one gave two shits... however we do have an issue. After a few weeks of use the battery capacity has dropped off dramatically to the point now you can't even vape a bullet on a full charge.

If the battery could charge faster, be more "durable" or have longer life-span, and also be swappable/replaceable, this would be the perfect battery powered stealth portable. I fly R/C helicopters, and we can charge cheap Chinese 3 cell 2200ma lipo batteries at 5C in 20 minutes. I also have an SSV, DBV, and Lotus; the vapor quality of the Pinnacle is really good... impressive even.. and the stealth makes it perfect for her to take to work, especially since everyone uses e cigs there. But the shitty battery pretty much just kills it. We got it off ebay from theyoyokid1... it has also been heavily 'used' if you know what I mean. Is there anything I can do or am I fucked?

Thanks.

@nytrix626,

Welcome to the FC PNP thread!

It does sound like you're having a battery issue.

Since you're into RC, swapping out the single 18650 cell that's inside the PNP won't be an issue an all.

Engineering did post that disconnecting the battery might un-calibrate the temps.

Also, be warned that you'll probably be voiding your warranty.

A couple users did explain how to pop open the PNP and swap out the battery.

I'm able to charge and operate my PNP using Lipo packs with my charging device.

You'll have to comb through thread to find the info.

In the end through, since you bought from theyoyokid1, who is an authorized, reputable distributor of the PNP, if you're still covered, then you might be able to get it replaced...

I'll try updating this post with the links if I get a chance.

Yeah. Unfortunately that's not the case with this vape. The unit is way over powered at level 4 and 5. That's just the facts of life=). It's a great vape. But if you want to keep things from melting....

What!?!?
Anyone know of any alternate gongs like the adjust a bowl from epic vape, that bb suggested, I broke mine :( and it doesn't look like we are getting the free shipping anymore using the FCLOVE coupon code

As requested. Opening PN OG and PRO is the same.
Firstly remove the LED/switch Cover. Prize of with something flat such as prying tool or knife. Work all the way around before pulling the cover. Next.
Look at the top of the outer case you will see 3 holes each side with the middle one blocked. The blocked hole is what holds the top in place, these need to be pushed in together and the body will slide out. I put my pinky in the heating chamber for purchase. I did not use a tool to push the tabs but im sure 3 hands would work easily or barnboy will come up with a suitable tool. Once you have the body out the rest is self explanatory. Also take note how easy the nose piece is to replace (4scrwes) . Battery can be unplugged but i am not sure about this re calibrating and i my opinion this is a minor adjustment that's not totally necessary. probably there is a programing mode which barnboy discovered but i would not mes around with that unless engineering offers some advice.

What!?!?
Anybody know where I can find something like the silicone that's on the adjust a bowl from epic vape, I found a few gongs online that I'm gonna try out and I'm looking for that material I can slip on it so it will jam into the pinnacle like the adjust a bowl does

@lookhigh got me thinking, what if the funky lights that come up when you have it plugged in and hold the button down isn't a burn off mode- but a calibration mode? Assuming you put in a new, possibly better battery- one might be able to use that mode and let it heat up all the way to recalibrate? hmmm....

Hi Very high
@Drs1685 not sure on the sizing sorry bud but I think its the same silicone whip stuff used for other vaporizers, just cut it to size with a razer into a taper to make it fit in the Pro better. I have seen the stuff on ebay and other vaporizer sites.

I just got an email from Andrew at Epic. He said you have to registrar to have access to enter the FCLOVE code...

Did you get your BB Patches yet???

Hi Very high
I finally gave and decided to recover my VB glass piece. OK, ill admit its a sweet piece and should come as standard in future, smaller than the adjust a gong, tight fit with o-ring plus extras  I have used it several times with the WT using the base for the Pinnacle and no issues with stability or clearing. I am convinced it hits better  The return address on my box was hand written CW Tech but the printed customs note had VaporBLUNT all over it and yes this glass piece is apparently worth $50 :mental:...I am using the No2 screens on top of the bullets so the piece is staying clean so far. :leaf:
