Firewood Vaporizer

Just got the unit. Looks wonderful. Went through the charging process the first time. Charger went from red to green. Unplugged from the charger and tried the unit. Green LED comes on when I switch it on, but when I press the trigger no orange LED and its not heating up...Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong? Should it be charged with the unit turned "on" (Green LED on) or "off"?

On a half charge on the 2.1 I can get visible vapor after about 20 seconds, but I typically start drawing at just 10 seconds because moving the air helps get things heated up. So a very unscientific answer would be that the 2.1 takes about half as long to heat up.

The other major improvement is batter battery lifespan. The old batteries lasted 500-1000 cycles and the new ones last up to 1500.

Thanks for the response. I went to Massdrop and committed to a Walnut 2.1 package as I've a sure sale of my v. 2.0. Rather than simply upgrade I figured this device deserves to be shared - it's that good! Nor am I willing to send my unit back, waiting for the upgrade. This bird in the hand is too precious. Anyone contemplating a purchase may add my conviction there will be absolutely no regrets, just joy.

Yes, sad. The history of this thread would indicate that you'll have no problem with warranty from Firewood. No experience myself but others seem to have been made happy again.

Once the batteries are too old to hold a charge, we can replace them (for a fee), or you could continue to use the unit with a wall plug power supply adapter (we will have some of these available soon). The batteries are not supposed to have a memory effect so you should not have to fully discharge.

The instructions with the unit say "New Units-completely charge and discharge at least 2 times for best battery performance."
Doesn't that imply that they have a memory that would require discharge instead of constant recharging for occasional use? Or am I getting that backwards?

I get mixed answers on this from different sources. At the end of the day, doing a couple full cycles certainly won't hurt and there is a good chance that it will help, so we have it in the instructions.

I got the V2.0 a few weeks ago and I think mine is working, but I might be using it wrong. It is the only vaporizer I've used.

1. I've seen the suggestion of removing the screen from the bottom of the capsule and putting it in the mouthpiece. Wouldn't that cause the plant matter to fall into the machine and cause problems?

2. I only see visible vapor for a short time in the middle of the session (with capsule about 1/4 full). People here and elsewhere talk about it producing "clouds", so are they exaggerating? I can taste it the rest of the time, so I can tell something is happening.

3. I don't think anything is burning, but the abv comes out black (or slightly greenish black). Is that normal?

4. People seem to like extending the vapor path. Why is this? What effect does it have?

Well they did. Got my Firewood after a quick trip back to the Mothership, it works very well. It is quite outstanding. I can see you have to "develop a touch" with it, but its powerful compared to my MFLB, which will still have a place, but the Firewood is now the go-to vaporizer.

1. I have no answer sorry.

2. I'm glad you've sorted your issue with number 2, don't forget to experiment with how hard you inhale which also has a large effect on how much vapor you produce.

3. Don't forget to shake the erb around in the capsule at least once per session so it's all evenly vaped. Most people recommend vaping until it is dark-ish brown. (You can tell it is almost done when the vapor tastes more like toast than herb.

4. Extending the vapor path gives the vapor/air you are inhaling longer to cool down making the hit much less harsh on your throat. Not at all necessary but very nice! If you have a bong/bubbler you could try to use silicon tubing to attach the firewood to the bong, making the hit the smoothest you'll ever have.

You need a bigger screen to put at the bottom.

I've been having battery issues with my 2.0 for about 2 weeks now, and it doesn't hold a charge. Is there a good way to go about getting it replaced? I totally love this vaporizer and miss using it daily.

You might also try contacting them directly. I know that for $35 you can upgrade your unit to 2.1 so that should take care of it.

Somebody had already test the 2.1 version?
I thought it was yet avalaible, that's why I sent my Firewood V1 for upgrading (it's on the way...)

Got vapor under 20s from a cold start is a very nice improvement!

My FW 2.1 is on the way, my previous V1 unit was one of my tastier portables and I hope the glass capsule increase the taste to another level!

It don't seems to have a large publicity but this vape is the better quality/price vape that I own, it seems awesome from a so little company!

Received my massdrop firewood 2.1 yesterday. Fully charged it up. Full disclosure this is the first time using any firewood vape. Anyways i packed it about one quarter full, heated for twenty seconds and then started drawing for an additional 30 seconds. First hit produced a massive cloud. I proceeded to get additional clouds by holding the trigger down for ten seconds before starting my draw. I finished the night off with some kief which took cloud production to another level. I will write more later but so far i say this 2.1 rocks. It will be my new one hitter.

Id love to hear more reviews on the 2.1 model if possible. I loved the look and feel of the original firewood 1.0 but my results were way too inconstant to really get into it. With the addition of the glass bowl and faster heat up times I might have to snag one
