:worms: There is no definitive evidence either way on the TiO2 topic and it's worse that trying to talk politics in an election year. There are benefits to super-heating (when not inhaling) just like there are potential risks. For the health-conscious patient, the simple solution is a quartz puddle nail...or shoot, get a pyrex nail if you're on a budget. If you crack it you'd be oxidizing your titanium nail anyway so hone them torch skills before you burn up $100, literally. I just love my V3 because it has that optional turbo dish or whatever. The upside down dart cart dealio. I like to pin the wax on the mountain top and get full vaporization with virtually no contact between my dabber and the dish. I have not shown interest in those new fits in to everything 10-29mm domeless nails Task just came out with, despite being the most convenient thing for a travel rig since sliced bread, specifically because I am likely converting to quartz when I run out of existing titanium swag.

I wouldn't worry about it too much...like most things in life. Look at this idiot using a quartz nail and a cheapo stainless dabber...that reminds me, I need to call my dentist in the morning.

edit^not attempting to name call with the idiot remark, if this individual posts here (i have no clue honestly) I'm sorry, but you're still an idiot.

We should compile a list of useful links, organized in to categories, and sticky that shit

That's a shame for you to say that :( I hope you're not high while saying it... because that would be a huge disappointment! This girl my friend, is a very enthusiastic Cannabis user who supports 420.

Why don't you go out there in the world and be do something useful for the cannabis culture with the creativity that this magical flower has offered you, instead of calling people idiots? Yes, there are a lot of misinformed people in this world; and yes, people make mistakes; one of them is me. Here is a perfect example:

You can see exactly how misinformed I must have been. Am I an idiot? I'm assuming YOU would probably say "YESSIR," but how does that explain the fact that I'm 19 years old, I've moved into the state from Europe not to long ago, and I've managed to be a Graduate Student in the heart of Silicon Valley, studying Aerospace Engineering, at the moment?

Common, how long has "dabbing" even been around? Give me a chance man... and her too (not that I believe there is anything wrong with what she is doing in that image). Those were LITERALLY my first and second dab I had ever taken in my life! Well I guess the first one didn't count... Maybe as a season? Lol... yea I didn't season it either >.< WHAT??? It's called learning. It's JUST been one month (exactly a month, I just realized! :D CELEBRATION 1 MONTH ANNIVERSARY SINCE MY FIRST DAB!!! haha), and I have learned A LOT my friend. I have just started being online and stuff. That video is my first, and I just made this account, and this is my first ever post on a marijuana related forum. Maybe I can upload another video of a fat half a gram dab of shatter. Ever since the last three weeks, I picked up an ounce of vac purged shatter treated with everclear grain alcohol (man this shit is transparent!) and I've been dabbing every other night, like a gram or two, and I really love it... but I've been dry the last three days (My use is very random). One thing I can tell is that dabbing is definitely much easier on my lungs than smoking bud; I'm a swimmer, so it's to my advantage.

It's all good, man. You're quoting a post that's over a year old from a member that has been banned.

Except from seasoning what else should be taken in consideration the most for Titanium Nail care ?
While seasoning, I did used a torch which was probably wrong or filled with cheap butane. With the reaction in contact between nail and flame there was some yellow flame and My nail got blueish kind of colour like you could get with some kind of screens after torching it ( I generally don't do this). Is this normal and ok ? My nail is supposed to be HE InfiniTi and from a believed sources. Does anybody has something to say about this? Cleaning it? Is it "harmful" ? While using a better suited torch then, I realized there is not such colour appeared but difficult to say after the "bad" was done.

Titanium changes color when heated. The butane you use in your torch should not matter. The yellow flame you see is the fire being rapidly cooled by the cold Ti. That yellow tint to the flame will disappear as soon as the nail heats up. The Titanium will eventually dull out to a bluish slate color and remain that way.

Actually, you should NEVER have a yellow flame when doing this. A yellow flame is fuel not burned due to lack of oxygen. Basically, you have more butane than needed for the amount of oxygen your torch is supplying the reaction. What you need to do is, there is probably an adjusting knob on the head or your torch which can be twisted to increase "air flow" from the back end of the nossle, providing oxygen to the reaction. In chemistry, having a yellow flame means that the limiting reagent is the butane... oxygen, meaning the oxygen is the one limiting the amount of reaction and what your left with is "excess" butane. What you want to do is increase oxygen flow to the point where the limiting reagent is the butane, and what you are left wit his excess oxygen and other gasses that flow from the back. By the way, if you loosen it too much, it might actually put out your fire due to TOO much air, so be careful... You don't want butane just coming out of your tank without knowing... If you do this and have a completely blue flame, there reaction will be oxygen plus butane = water + carbon dioxide (which is completely safe... the stuff you breathe out and plants breathe in to breathe out oxygen for you) + air inside the room. Where as with yellow flame, instead of excess air left, you have excess butane left... and that will sit on your nail as a black butane residue.

That said, I think Deadshort480 is referring to what in my perspective is not yellow, but actually red. The flame that tangents of the opposite side of the metal when heated for a while. That, I have known to be harmless, but I am the a hundred percent positive. It is definitely something I will research about right now! :) It might just be the fact that, due to the change in direction of the flame, the light rays emitted by the electrons within the atoms of the flame have a different wavelength, and therefore a different color appearance.

When I hit a cold nail, any cold nail, with a torch the initial reaction I get is that the flame turns yellow against the nail until the nail reaches a certain temperature. Upon reaching that temperature the reaction of the flame against the nail is no longer yellow, but bluish.

I understand what you are talking about with the cold nail reaction and the flame resulting from it. I have this with my good torch as well. However the "bad" torch I was using to season the nail (that was stupid to use that one, but didn't have anymore good gas for biggy torch) can switch to lighter or torch mode. It was indeed in torch mode, but once it touched the nail I was getting a typical yellow flame along with blue one (when doing in the "air" the flame was normal blue), it was clearly different from the reaction you re talking about with a cold nail, Deadshort. I thought this is what discolour my nail. But you seems to say it is normal...

Im honored to say that im pretty sure thats one of my pics at the end of this article. Note. The picture in question is the vapenwiser!
Good read about nails too.

Sold the vapenwiser. That baby has been used but never abused....
I remember the photo though!

That death residue appears to be nothing more than titanium dioxide and crap leftover from some oil that wasn't the cleanest. I've had that same residue build up on $20 nails and $120 nails.

I keep mine about as clean as the photo on the right. Some of the ones I see on FC look like the bottom of a charcoal grille to me.
