Apollo Glassworks

They seem to be a small NY company blowing some sick pieces, they're nano line makes me want all of them :brow:. Currently they're only selling through ioffer, they do have a Facebook page though, they're definitely worth checking out. https://www.ioffer.com/selling/americanglassstudio

Btw, I'm not affiliated with them at all, I just got a piece from them and I love it so much I figured I'd share with my fellow FCers.
This is the piece I have, it's very solid, fires well, and doesn't have any bubbles. The only flaw is that you can see the weld.

This piece is definitely going to be my next buy :tup:

I dont know that it is.. I do know the majority of their stuff comes from Apollo Glassworks so Im sort of assuming they just sell US stuff. May not be, tho... I figure there are a ton of blowers out there that we dont know about.
Quoted from the cheap-o thread to avoid derailing.

I'm still curious to know exactly what Apollo makes in-house, and what they import. They claim to have a studio, and as of last fall a, storefront in Albany. Oddly, I can't find any indication of a physical location or address. Their facebook page has neither pictures of any facility, or work in progress.

Items on their ioffer page are certainly available for cheaper at other sites.

I'm also curious what they make and what they import. I asked if they do custom pieces and they do, at least for they're micro and nano lines, so that gave me piece of mind

Vdabber,
Lilly W. Ji the of Q2 trading LLC opened a retail business called Apollo's Den in Troy. I see.

There are a few things that still seem a bit strange to me, but I'm content to live with the mystery. :p

mrboote,
I swear ive seen some of the stuff they sell on DHgate before...
I think it goes without saying that some of what they sell is import, all their titanium definitely is. I personally am only interested in the stumpy little nanos, cone and tit shaped. They look well made. But then some of them have disk percs in them that are certainly Chinese. To me, another site carrying the same merch, and no mention of the "Apollo Glassworks" brand on that entire site is telling.

Ultimately, if you like what you see, it functions and you are happy with the price point, it doesn't matter where it was made.

Maybe it's like Near Dark/BL and they have a deticated chinese manufacturer.
Whatever may be the case, those mod able Toro-likes look really tempting.

Actually they do say. Specifically. On their website. I was checking it out yesterday and it says something like:

"We're family owned and are made up of glass blowers, sales people, and managers. We do a lot of stuff in house and also import some other products. "

Of course I'm paraphrasing off of memory, but that's the basic gist of it.

In either case, Im not pooping on Chinese made glass as long as it functions, etc... different strokes for different folks and all.

Edit:

Who are we?
We are a family owned business made up of glass artists, sales people and managers. We are located in upstate New York near the great Adirondack mountains and the glassmaking capital of the world---Corning, NY.

How are we able to offer such low prices?
Although we import some of our items, most of our products come straight out of our studio in Albany, NY. We do not brand our glass yet, as it helps to keep your cost as low as possible.

Does your low price mean low quality?
NO! We take great pride in the quality of our pieces and our services. We always choose the highest quality materials and our items can easily be compared to the most expensive brand names on the market.

I just meant that if a 3rd party like glasspipemaster was indeed retailing something produced by a veteran glass manufacturer located in Albany NY, it would be odd not to mention it. The other US glass sold on gpm certainly says who made it. I mean Apollo glass explicitly is looking to raise their profile with the name change and retail operation and all...

Enough speculating on my part. :) It's all totally moot anyway until the water test, I recon.

Well, I asked and they answered: Posted this to their iOffer page for this piece:

https://www.ioffer.com/i/10-19mm-gr...ject-stackable-bubbler-552497192?from_login=1

Question: "You Asked: Is this an imported piece or do you make these in house? Is this the same for all the Toro style stackable bubblers?"

Answer: "Our lab glass is made at our studio in upstate NY."

Mmmkay!

My piece from them came from Apollo. It was reboxed and still had the Apollo label on it.

for the couple of dollars it would cost I very much doubt that it is the real reason, why would'nt you be proud of your own products and want to grow

@oli Maybe because they also produce glass for other companies? I know @redglassgallery does the same thing with their iOffer glass (Aeon glass?). They blow for other brands, and so IIRC, RGG said they dont brand their iOffer products as not to undercut other people? Something like that anyway...

Funny enough, I got an email from them (Apollo) today regarding my linking them to this thread...

"We are very busy getting ready to go to the Cannabis Cup in Denver next week, but we are always looking for new ways to get our name out there. We will be looking into an instagram account and putting more info about our company out there soon. We are just trying to do so much at once...ahhhh! Thank you for your interest in our work...stay tuned."

@GSH I was seriously considering pulling the trigger on that thing, please let us know how it works out!

Will do buddy, look forward to giving a report :)

I wanted as little diffusion as possible (for pairing with other percs) and it seemed to me the inline might the best bet :D

I was thinking along the same lines as I was looking at it as well.

I actually asked them about making me a base with a 90 degree stem and a female adapter. That was in one of the emails they havent replied to.
