SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
Looks like someone had my Solo in a pocket with a bunch of keys :( scratched to shit. That's what friends are for.
Looks like you could use one of those Solo Wraps someone did a while back in this thread. I couldn't find the place. Anyone else know the link to that page? Might help that scratched Solo. The only Wrap I could find was the other kind by the famous DDave:http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/solo-rap.12902/#post-550968

Sorry about your Solo, thought that might cheer you up a bit:wave:.

Likely my post below. Going to change it up again soon though.
Thanks @Dreamerr. They say for folks not to get there hopes up. Could be the weekend for some.

But us Canucks are tough. Where there's a will, there's a way....
Found some laptop skins I had around. So stuck one on the Solo. Ain't it purrrrrdy.

When I have the time... I believe other have reported 2 LED drops per session so I don't consider it out of the norm.

What's the consensus, how many LEDs does a Solo normally drop per session?

Perhaps, depending on the session. My sessions are different from yours. Which is why I suggest a test routine where the human plays a minimal role.

The 'two per session' situation you related, where the same user (presumably using the same techniques?) gets twice the battery life (number of sessions per recharge) on one over the other is new. That, in theory, standardizes the sessions to some extent?

Otherwise I don't consider 'I get XX sessions' to be of much use unless the difference is overwhelming......which it seems not to be?

So, I would ask, 'does anyone get two sessions (top open, step 7) per led every time? Does anyone always drop two LEDs per session (under those conditions)?

Not that 'how many sessions per LED/charge?' isn't interesting, of course, for me it's one session per usually, 8 per charge? On two different Solos, one of which degraded to about half that and 'recovered' with a battery replacement.

BTW, the battery is rated for about one hour of heating, typically it seems to be maybe 30% at idle, 50% in use (so you get two hours of sessions, heating for an hour of that). At least that's what I convinced myself it was. Pipes and a couple of the other usual suspects poked at it as well......anything to add?

Mine is following pretty much what I'd expect. When it was new (almost a year now) I'd get 2 sessions before the LED would start to drop and then about 1 session per light. (maybe 2 on level 3) so yeah, around 8 sessions if did one with indicator pushing below LED 1.
Now, I'd say my battery is around 80% where I get 1 session on LED 7 and drops about 1 1/2 LEDs per session. Hard to judge as use in true PA mode almost all the time. Likely around 5-6 sessions per charge if using battery only. I use it regularly and charge about every 3 days so that would put me at 100 cycles.
To me this is acceptable although likely short of battery rating. 100 cycles and down to 80%.
Not sure on what the rating cycles are or what percent they consider the life is over at.
But nevertheless these are the numbers for mine.

Sup guys. First off all the info on here has been ace helping me decide what vape to get so thanks for that.

Pretty much settled on the solo and wanted to ask what you think I need to buy to get myself going - what size screens etc. Was also thinking of starting off with one non included stem so which do you think I should buy first?

I plan on vaping dry herbs and am not too bothered about water tools yet; I'm just quitting smoking so want to keep it fairly simple while I get adjusted.

Sorry if this has been answered already I must have missed it

Ta in advance

My Solo that I bought last July, the older model, I got an hour of battery on heat level 4 and 5 when it was new. I now get about 30 min. I kept the battery topped off by keeping it pugged in all the time. I do use the PA with it quite often.

My new Model that I bought in February I get about 2 hours of battery life on heat levels 4 and 5 still, when I first bought it I got about 10 min more. So it's started to go down already, and I've been real careful. I will be curious after 6 months what I will get.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on giving up combustion.

With the newer Solo's I'd just get 1 or 2 extra stock stems. When I first got mine, I too got a HEStem turbo which I loved but they break just like the stock stems....:bang: But cost a lot more. I did not see any big difference except the draw was a little less restricted. But the restriction is something I learned to actually like.
Biggest choice is strait or bent which I prefer strait. Mainly for easier storage and cleaning. Performance is the same to me. Now I'm about to get clobbered with the bent lovers....:D

Anyway, best have fun with it regardless of the stem.

I would wait to see how well you like the stock stems. It is good to have extra stems because shit happens. You may not even like the PVHES stems with the newer model Solo.

I love the solo, IMO best all around vaporizer out there. I loaded ~30-35mg of product (must be unusually good flower, idk whats in this beast but it packs a fucking punch); im blasted. Wish I weighed it before vaping. Made me want to compare with my other "top shelf" stuff with same size load but I couldnt.

Almost questioning if my stuff is laced lol (I know very unlikely) but im blasted.....

Thanks for the advice. Waiting and testing out the stock stems might actually be a good idea I might just grab some spares first off. I just want to try and remove the temptation to spend money I don't have on more accessories but hey I guess that's bound to happen anyway with a new toy.

Give it 6 months and i'll probably be a vapor nerd

Now I'm about to get clobbered with the bent lovers....:D

Nothing beats a well placed double entendre

I tried to reduce my consumption of FLOWERS!
Can't?
CONCENTRATES I have all kinds.
FLOWERS?
Love the Flavor!
Love the EFFECT!
I would rather have jars full of FLOWERS then 20 different vaporizers!

I only have 3.2 full jars?
Getting LOW!

You people, first Mozilla supports the ... what was it?

Hey, that's an awful lot of Keck Klips, too. Is that a pool?

I was down at the 24x7 hospital pharmacy to pick up some meds for my son. A young man, jeans slung low, comes up and asks "Is this the medicine place"? Hated to break the news "No, it's the pharmacy".

Is the Yoda really THAT much worse than the others?

Just ordered a solo! So pumped to use this bad boy, had a MFLB + PA and a VG before, so im excited to see how the solo compares.

I wanna get into glass, looking at the d020 as it seems to have quite the following in this thread. What can i use to adapt the solo to it? The PVHEgong looks sweet but is out of stock everywhere it seems.

Also regarding grinders, how does the super fine consistency of the MFLB finishing grinder go in the Solo?

In the same group of INDICA based strains the YODA is a good one for me.

That doesn't mean it will work for everyone since we are all different.

Since there is a legal battle going on here in the STATES very little information exist on the subject of MEDICAL MARIJUANA (CANNABIS).

The SOLO is basic and cheap.
For me it's my go to medical device.
For others it's a RECREATION relief device.

Whatever your needs are the SOLO is a solid tool!

I have 3 of them however just one is enough!

I use a lot of clips because I broke so much glass on my pool deck.
I like water path so much.
It makes the experience more gourmet with water.
Dry is good as well. (113 seals I love)

Empirical observation... My 2013 is getting 5/6 sessions per charge, my 2014 is getting 7/8, under similar curcumstances. So it isn't twice as many session as initially inferred.

Got mine today, it hits and tastes great, but the straight glass stem already cracked, too much force is needed to remove it! The angled stem is thinner and just drops in touching the metal at the bottom of the heater. Now I have to spend more money on a wooden stem as the cracked stem will probably break any day now.... :(

Bummer for sure. The stems are all different in fitting due to the nature of the way the glass is formed.
The fact of strait and bent has nothing to do with the fitting. With my last purchase of 3 strait stems, I have one really tight fit. Keeping that one in reserve as don't like the fit neither. The other two fit better and currently using the easiest fitting stem and plan to work my way up as they expire..:rip:
As yours is brand spanking new, your dealer might cut you some slack and give you a replacement..?
Either way, you got yourself an excellent tool there. Enjoy.

Thanks for the follow up. That's making more sense for sure. I'm still a little concerned about such a difference in 'nearly new' units. Why? Not only should there in theory be no difference, but at least one Member responded that he'd run the test carefully and found basically no difference in battery (which answered the question 'did they maybe recalibrate the LEDs like they did at least once before?'.

I don't think we're looking at a rash of early battery failures (say under 250 cycles)? Maybe?

Thanks again for the extra info.
