Hey everyone,

I have read the threads of all of these products. I like what I hear for each one. I already tried to order the IoL, but got ripped off by someone on craigslist. (Bastards)

Anyways, what I am really looking for is someone that owns/tried all three of them and can tell me really quick how these points were:

1. ease of use
2. easy to pass around/learning curve with friends
3. stealth
4. weather proof (i mean like wind, a few drops of water, things like this)
5. breakability/malfunction
6. health and safety
7. price
8. any other comments

i know there arent many with the glass VG, but anyone who can input on the regular VGs would be appreciated as well. I understand that if you drop glass, it breaks. so that would be the con with the glass VG, plus idk how the glass filter piece doesnt get hot but we'll see. ME WRITING A REVIEW ON THE GLASS VG IS NOT A REASON FOR ME TO BUY IT! lol although I will of course write a review with pics and all if thats what I get.

I wouldn't count on hearing from someone who's tried all three. The Vapman, IMO, is good for outdoor use-windproof. The Vapman rules on the ski slopes. If you don't need wind proof I wouldn't consider it. The iolite doesn't mind the wind either, unless it's cold.

The Genie will work with a torch lighter, but does better with a regular flame. The iolite is the easiest to use and the most likely to fail. With the other two, you have the learning curve of a flame powered vape but nothing really to go wrong. Health? You either trust the materials and design of the iolite or you don't. You could suck some soot with the Genie unless you use the less desireable torch lighter. The Vapman is heat, then hit. Doesn't get any safer than that.

IMO the iolite's ease of use and stealth is worth the extra $ over the other two, but that's just me. I think dieselvapors.com gives us a discount on that one too. The glass Genie is not nearly as practical as the orginal. If price is a high priority, I'd consider the more portable and rugged wood Genie.

I've not used the glass VG, but if you count the classic and/or hardwood VG, I've used all of these.

1. ease of use- I would give this to the Iolite/Iinhale. There is very little learning curve here. If you already know how to fill a lighter with butane, you are halfway there. I do find that I needed to work on the inhalation technique to not get frustrated with the tight draw. I just inhale super slow while taking in a bit of ambient air.

2. easy to pass around/learning curve with friends- Any of the three are easy to pass around, but again for learning curve the Iolite is the winner. With the VG, your drunk friends are almost certain to scorch the herbs at some point.

3. stealth- All of them are small, and can be easily hidden, as far as stealth while using? I guess the Iolite wins here too. It does make some noise, can't be heard over ambient city-traffic or anything.

4. weather proof (i mean like wind, a few drops of water, things like this)- Again the Iolite is best here. Maybe every brand of torch lighter I've ever tried is crap, but I've not found one that can stand up to a really strong Manitoba wind.

5. breakability/malfunction- I'd give this one to the VG. I don't see how it could malfunction. The mouthpieces can break, and if your looking at the glass VG, that's a whole other kettle of fish.

6. health and safety- Dunno. I'd trust any of these three over smoking.

7. price- VG. This might be the biggest bargain in the vaporizing world.

8. any other comments- All of the above is my personal opinion.

Thanks for your comments. I have actually decided to get all 3 of them. I am waiting for them to refine the design of the IoL before I buy it. There have been too many malfunctions with them at this point for me to order one. The vapman I got for camping, stealth and portability. I also am going to get the glass VG (probably after I get the PD) for taste and to just try out the glass version of the VG. Overall I like the vapman, but the learning curve is a bit higher than the VG. It took me about 5 hits to learn how to use the VG (not glass one) but it took me 3-4 whole bowls of burnt bud to figure out the vapman

Well that solves the choice problem.

Too many malfunctions on the iolite? You mean you've heard of a few breakdowns? Compared to the breakdowns I've heard reported on say, the Extreme, I'd say the iolite is fairly trouble free. As for refining the design, any changes they've made on the beta untis that will turn up in production units won't really change the design as far as reliability goes-just bowl and mouthpiece changes that don't require mods to the main unit itself. I'm pretty sure any major changes will happen down the road and show up in a new and higher priced model.

VaporGenie says the glass model is being redesigned to make the ceramic filter more secure (comes out too easily I've heard). You may want to wait until that change is made before buying one.

It wouldn't surprise me if VG would exchange, free of charge, all those that purchased the original glass piece, if asked. There a pretty darn good company when it comes to customer service and their product isn't to shabby either.

I agree with that point Iwien, but i am still waiting on it anyways. I don't need the glass VG right now so whenever they upgrade ill buy it. I have heard a few things about the IoL breaking down. However, thats not what i mean. What im saying is, most people dont even realize their unit is broken they just dont like it, or its not the best thing theyve ever used, and then they find out later that it has been broken the whole time. I have personally seen 3 of these cases myself so I am a little skeptical. I tried to buy an IoL from craigslist but got scammed, (so fuck that) and now im just going to buy from a reputable company when the beta units become the real units. Thanks for all the feedback and support guys!

Well, I'll repeat my point that the changes they're considering won't change the design of the unit. Screen, heating pin, condenser-that's all the changes they've made. Worthwhile changes yes, for the company and buyers, but these changes won't have any effect on reliability of the main unit.

I get that max. What I'm saying is since I don't NEED it right now, I'm just going to save up for it and when the changes are made I'll buy one. Same with the glass VG right now, since I have my vapman. (Which btw works very well now that I get it.)

OK. You said you tried a craigslist buy so I thought you were in a hurry. Since you aren't, I'd definitely wait for the updated model.

Just got an email back from Dan at Vapor Genie and he said that they would have more glass VG's available at the end of the week.

There is one shitty video of the glass VG online but that's about it. I'm assuming it works well because of the quality brand name VG but I can't really find any reviews from actual users. I'm curious to know how it stacks up against it's wooden brothers and sisters.
