Hey everyone Trevor responded to my inquiry regarding the discrepancy with the temperature range of the Grasshopper and it looks like the temperature on the backer page was a typo. Here is what he said:

Hi onigiri1692,

This is a typo our webmaster must have made. Thanks for pointing it out 210 is the upper limit like it said on the campaign page.

Thanks,

Trevor

Well with a life time warranty if it craps out or isn't working right.. They should send you another.. I think lifetime warranty like with MFLB which is why I went for the grasshopper... It will not be a oh it don't work? Too bad! Lol

What happens if this comes out and doesnt work well, like say the puffit...or it ends up being another epipe like all the other pens that are "designed for herbs"...those are two possibilities and in both cases a lifetime warranty doesnt mean anything

I am quite interested in this product. However, I'm waiting til people buy this before I decide to buy one, truly great portables seem to be few and far between, my experience with the PNP (IMO the only other reasonably sized, stealthy herb capable vape I know of) has definitely left me wary of claims about small vapes.

However, could this use a halogen heater rather than a ceramic heater like the Herbalizer uses? Could a 30w halogen heater not generate some serious heat in a small space quite quickly? There are small halogen heaters listed online that could fit in that sized gap too...

If so, what these guys are talking about could be quite possible! Definitely keen to see the final product, I do have an opening for a super stealthy in public vape in my line-up, the only opening left!

They would have to rethink the whole design then. I don't think that is an option for GH. The form factor on GH wouldn't be capable of powering a halogen bulb even at 30 watts which is 100x weaker than the Herbalizer's 300 watt output. Also, even if it were to power a bulb you know very well that durability will be a problem in a pen form. You would have to go back to the drawing boards and I don't think that's what backers are looking forward to right now.

@herbivore21 Not sure if I'm reading this right, but are you saying your experience with the Pinnacle Pro has left you wary?
My experience with mine has been nothing short of stellar. If your's isn't, you might consider contacting the manufacturer, it's possible you received a unit that is not up to specs.
Best of luck.

Check the PNP thread for my comments on the PNP. Basically, the service was ridiculous. I had multiple issues, melting mouthpiece tips and PonGs (yes, multiple), finally made myself a custom GonG and this helped the situation loads, but then not long after I noticed a crack in the top of the PNP itself where the pong/mouthpiece connects. I sent multiple emails to various TRVB employees about the various issues and was met with no answer/denial of issue/ignored questions etc. That was when I decided it was best to sell the PNP (1.5 months old at this stage).

I have a Lotus and E-Nano which I have since gotten which both produce considerably more clouds. Even on setting 5 on the PNP, I could not white-wall my glass pieces with it, it didn't produce steady enough vapour. Multiple possible issues (which seems to be more common for high-heat vaporists like myself) is just not what I go for in a relatively expensive vape.

Back on topic, I really want to learn some specifics about how this thing does what they say it does, I do believe it is possible and if it delivers, then sign me up!

^ Yeah been waiting on the wait list for a while. But I actually feel bad for you backers, some of who cannot even be refunded. Really wanted to wait for this vape, but it seems I'm just going to buy the pax. Seems sketchy that they were so ready, but just had to switch up at the last minute.

The update....

"Hey!

We’re back with another Grasshopper update. There’s been lots of movement over the last few weeks. As we mentioned awhile back, we’d been working to secure a space for assembly. This was a difficult task, due in part to North Carolina not being the friendliest state to our industry. The space we locked-down a few months ago pulled the plug after deciding a vaporizer company was not the tenant they wanted.

This incident spurred us to look elsewhere. After much hunting, we signed a lease for a space in Boulder, CO. Our decision to locate the future of the Grasshopper in Colorado was a difficult one, requiring us to uproot our lives. But the idea of building the world’s best portable vaporizer made the drastic change worth it. Colorado is one of the friendliest states to our industry, and we are excited to be a part of that.

The team moved cross-country in two days, and is working overtime on the remaining tasks. Friends have come out to help prepare the assembly space, while a temporary home office is currently headquarters. This process was an unexpected bump, but it will prepare us for the future.

The Grasshopper project is coming together and pieces are falling into place. We've refused to compromise on anything, and it’s going to be great because of it. Everyone here is excited to be moving forward.

Check-in with our instagram at “Grasshoppervape” for some occasional pictures and we’ll be back with an update on April 15th.
