Discontinued Inhalater XP

Does inhalater ever answer its emails???
I need to know the turn around time for repairing an original and an xp
My most recent replacement took about a month; from me sending the unit to getting replacement in my hands..
So 1 week for transport to Canada, another week of waiting, another week to ship back to me... so 2 weeks of shipping which isn't really their fault.

You should just send in your units for repair to get the process started. Its much better than months ago when I was waiting for 2-3 months

I'm just finishing to vape a load of my home made glass capsule (with a Ev-2 glass mp), taste is really better than with the OG capsules, I think the load will be smaller (the glass is thicker...) and it's a good new cause I thought the Xp load was too big (sometime I put a lot of cotton as a spacer but, perhaps my mind, but I taste it and I don't like that, habitually I put a tiny amount of cotton to close my caps and this help to keep my unit clean).

Although the unit will be less stealth with the longer glass stem, it might be better to have glass in the oven and plastic as mp (cause the glass becomes too hot on your lips if it is too short) and a glass GonG capsule might be nice too!

I posted in the INH05 thread as well, but I am back from a break from the forums. I was recently paired up against the solo with my XP and lost pretty badly. Vapor quality and taste were just so bad on the XP. :( Now I feel completely jipped.

I mean small size and stealth and portable charger are nice, but the taste and vapor quality are just lacking. The only time I would prefer the XP over a solo is when I am on a hiking trip. But i have a feeling the grasshopper will be better then.

Please make sure capsule and heating chamber is cleaned of residues. This is source for taste denaturation.

i have been using my xp putting a screen at the end of the capsule so that material doesnt fall down in the chamber where u cant clean it and when u have clean capsule and clean chamber the taste is indeed pretty nice...the problem is when the capsule is dirty and residue ha build up inside the unit...clean the inside get a free capsule use it with a bottom screen ( i use a soft screen bent at the ends like a cup so the sharp edges wont hurt the chamber plastic...) and then report back again on taste...all vapes when they are dirty they taste bad...the xp when used without bottom screen needs some good maintenance in order not to taste bad because its hard to clean the chamber, remove that factor and see the difference...

I haven't cleaned my chamber once. This could very well be the problem, and I hope it is! Could you put the pictures up about this bottom screen your talking about?

I'll clean my capsules again today, but I'm really sure how to clean the chamber properly. I tried wiping the inside with iso, but then when I turned it back on it made a crackly noise and I could see iso evaporating out of the chamber.

Any pics or guides to cleaning would be great. I will admit, his solo was new and my xp is probably dirty. I clean it and call him up for a rematch!

Please try after each session, to use the cleaning tool... it is a straw.
after capsule is cleaned, place straw in the chamber...
suck through straw as you use it to vacuum any remaining crumbs from inside XP.

Prevent the issue, by always traveling with the XP ... mouth downward, so the capsule is an actual "cup" with top up.. until you get first few hits, which will then cement the meds in place so they can not fall into unit (if you were worried)

i cant take pictures right now but the screen i put at the bottom of the capsule is a lot like the screens that are inside the glass straw of some log vapes or the screen that sits inside the pong mouthpiece of the pinnacle...like an ashtray with the diameter of the capsule and i slide it inside with the sharp edges looking outwards...i hope i hlped you on how i do it...about the chamber i get a battonete soaked with ise or a toothpick with cotton at the end and i just keep whiping and whiping untill the cotton comes out without any colour or it ( i change cotton all the time) but now tha ti use the bottom screen i dont think i will have to clean the unit again...

You've said this several times but I just don't think to many people want to suck avb into there mouth. At least I don't, it's kind of nasty.:puke:

You are right.. I age, and I repeat myself.
I eat a good deal of ABV so am very accustomed to it, and I forget others may not be.Years ago, before I became an ABV eater, I would pass wands I needed cleaned over the nozzle of a vacuum. I had a devoted dust buster with a piece of tube taped onto it's mouth for that purpose.
I became old, and not caring... and started eating my abv!

No you are not old and we care :-)

Sometimes just pushing the residues into the straw is a functional way of cleaning the capsules. The dirtied straw is just discarted after each use.

I have been through an INH004 and through a few months of my Q4 XP.. and I am still on my first cleaning straw! It still works so I never replaced it.

Hey guys, I went about cleaning my INH XP and found some discoloration in the heating chamber. It seems like the amber color has a black layer coated over it. This also seems to be appearing on some of my capsules as well. Anyone know whats up? I also have a small amount of residue at the bottom underneath the screen it seems. Any easy way to clean this?

It will take a lot of scrubbing with q-tips and ISO to get some of that charred resin out and it will never get fully cleaned. One of the drawbacks of too much conduction... ;)
Better send it in for a fix... As for the debris below, remove the screen, suck as much as you can with the straw and then swab with a q-tip and ISO. Use a q-tip with very little cotton left for the small holes and when dry suck really hard after you insert a clean mouthpiece to get some more debris out of them... Hard job, the cleaning of the chamber if you don't put a spare screen on top of the load. :\

Screen at bottom plucks out with a dental pick.
I use 91% Iso on a q-tip, (only damp, not wet), and go in deep, and drag the q-tip on the walls coming back up.
I make certain the wipes are only occurring in upward direction to get them out.
Avoid this deposit, by carefully wiping off the capsules of barely visibly dust/debris/trichs that adhere with static to the capsules outside.
Avoid also by sucking the meds into capsule like a straw.. and not allowing the capsule to me inserted into the pile of ground meds.. this allows dusts and pollens to get into that polymide "overlap".
when the invisible stuff pinched and hidden in that overlap heat up, they ooze out and get in the area between wall and capsule and bake into a dark "cake".
You should be able to tidy that up some!

Hey if thats resin just heat the unit up substantially and then once its hot enough take a flat head screw driver or something similar and LIGHTLY scrape it off. I heard its bad for the unit to be on without a capsule in it especially on the higher settings, so be careful with it. Seems odd you didn't notice the buildup

Definitely seems like the source for your taste problem.

Although I like your idea to warm the chamber to aid in loosening the scorched gunk..... I can't really buy into telling anyone to scrap it with a screw driver....that polimyde layer is not only I'm sure very thin it is also very likely brittle from all the heat it has been dealing with..... I would in fact think that much or at least some of the discoloration is do to all that heat.....
Yes cleaning is a good thing in here....I have found it doesn't need it as much as the cap and tube I use...
I typically have to scrap the tiny droplets inside my tube every couple of weeks...I would say I'm able to stretch a cap through 2 maybe 3 tube cleanings...by then it's screen has begun to collect gunk even after scrapping and reclaiming the inside of it.....so into an ISO soak {for days} when I'm ready to put another one in the bath I take one out and clean it thoroughly with a Q Tip.... almost all of mine have 2 scorch rings that I haven't been able to get ride of....but the rest is clean
Now the inside chamber I've notice will need to be cleaned every couple of months for me....but the tell is when you begin to notice it is a bit hard to pull on....even with a freshly cleaned cap....take a look inside with a pen light and if you can't see the grid of the screen......you are overdue for a cleaning...
I really liked Vitolo's described process.....trying to vacuum out debris is really the only way to get the flakes you see below the screen area.....which btw is nothing more than a small white disk with a tiny raised metal platform where the screen rests....the raised platform will look to have 3 almost half circle openings...this is where the 2 stage warmed air enters the capsule when we draw.... if you want to try to push or blow out some of the dust you can see down there.....I plug the hole on one side and blow into the other hole and then tap it on a book or something....not to hard though...as we don't want our battery to crush the circuit board and it's components directly under the chamber now do we.... tapping the sides also works with less concern....

I agree with everybody here though..... you are gonna be so happy when she is all cleaned up and once you get a routine down as to the when's to keeping her clean and tip top.....the TASTE will remain

Ya I wouldn't recommend scraping the heating chamber either but if you see how excessive the buildup is I think its the best solution for him, just giving another option if the ISO is too much work when its caked that much on the walls. Definitely glad I have a habit of wiping the outside of the poly before putting it in the unit. I can see why I do it now lol :p

So you can confirm that soaking caps in ISO won't get rid of whatever is holding the plastic and poly together? I wanna try it but don't wanna ruin a cap when I only have a couple. Also keep in mind that I have newer caps which I got in january.

Yes I leave mine soaking for days...then after a few days of soaking I go after it with a Q-tip and I am also using the 91% stuff.....if I think the rings are too thick still I might throw them back in the ISO for a few more days....so far I have only one cap {newer non-stopper type} unravel on me and it started on the inside overlap......OH sorry have another newer type that has like you have described I believe a very thin piece of what looks like polyimide tape to me.....but that is just a tiny bit of a corner loosing adhesive...
zero issues with all of my stopper caps.....they are still my favorite....
I'd love to see a small glass capsule that had the stopper style mouthpiece on it....I bet that would be SWEET.....

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm going to try cleaning out the inside of the chamber soon. I hope its a solution to the taste. I really love being able to vacuum up the herb into the capsule, flip it over, and then place it in the XP. I feel like its the easiest way to load the capsules without making a hassle. But if this is causing the problem, what alternative should I do. Is there an easier way than just pinching in small bits of herb at a time?

just wipe the outside before you put it in. Make sure theres no dust or anything. I do this literally every time because I read some other member did it and I have no buildup.

Question - I've been using 99% iso.

Is 91% or less any different?

Just curious in case anyone knows.

I make less iso bath since of one of my capsule(without shoulder) was completly dismantled (the orange film was dewrapped...), perhaps it was just a faulty capsule but it seems the longlife is better with less iso bath.

I have a build up in my capsule but not more in the unit itself since I put a little piece of cotton to clogg my capsule, it's a good solution, since I use it I no more need to clean the deep ot the oven!

I use 90% ethanol alcohol or 90% iso alcohol without any differences.I can't access to 99%....
