I have to say - EJ mix is a letdown for me.. I mixed up .8 grams of winterized bho and about .3 grams of EJ mix in a shotglass in a double boiler setup. The mix came together very well and I was able to inject it into my Saphire cart without any issues. |However each hit produced an extremely harsh throat burn followed by a nasty aftertaste - sorta like the alcohol has not burned off yet. I was fairly confident it was not my BHO to blame so I took out a fresh Saphire cart and dripped a few drops of pure EJ mix on the wick. Sure enough it tasted great initially but the hit was followed by a very harsh throat burn and terrible aftertaste. |I realize people have different sensitivities to this sort of thing so my experience may be atypical, but this has been a $30 lesson learned... back to the drawing board

i wouldnt give up just yet. try an evod tank and see how it goes.

OK, so i ran a batch in my super tiny sawed-off, as I've mentioned in another thread i have a rough time with yields on the super tiny. I only got approximately 10% yield off good green, I think my oven mitt is to close to the escaping butane, i get build up on the tip of the glove and the thumb, i think i need to go back to one that isn't sawed-off as much.

but, after the rough yield, the rest of the story is better. I mixed my oil approximately 1:1 with EJmix and sucked it up in a syringe, used a little more EJmix to try and get the last of it, not the full zero waste method, but i saved the dilute mix to use in my next batch. stirred it for a while in a hot water bath and it mixed pretty well.

For a delivery device I used a kanger protank 3 mini, and am totally satisfied with how it works. I say great flavour, tastes like dabs to me, and pretty darned effective at medicating. Most of the material I used was toasted for 20 minutes at 220 degrees and it does seem to be low odor. The one person who has tried it so far, aside from me, thought the taste was very minimal., not reminiscent of cannabis to him, tasted like nothing. He also agreed that there was very little smell. I disagree about the taste, but he's a cigarette smoker and not familiar with oil, so may have compromised taste buds, and not be able to pick out the flavour of the oil.

Better vapour production, as might be expected from my vamo v2 mod versus the old regular ego passthru batteries I have. The ego batteries work, just not quite as well.

gotvapes is where i got mine, like $4.45 i think. They shipped to me fast, although i have heard some complaints about them.

http://www.gotvapes.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=148_217_222&products_id=1476

hrm.... actually the base looks different in your picture, mine is actually a different base from a full size t3 i bought elsewhere, so the gotvapes one may be bootleg or something ? but that's what i was using. crap, so maybe the bases aren't interchangeable.

yeah the T3 and MT3 are different animals from the ProTank 3. T3 and MT3 are plastic tanks vs. the SS/glass ProTanks. they ise the same coil heads tho.

i was very surprised to see the mPT3 for $10. usually the mPT and mPT2 are usually around $15 each.

just wanted to share a link... Mini ProTank 3s at a US retailer... and for only $10! i just ordered one to check it out. http://www.viper-vape.com/products/kanger-mini-protank-3.html. seems like a helluva price and its not from slowtech!
You may get yours before I get mine. :) slowtech tracking shows mine still somewhere betweeen China and the USPS. :(

I think I'm gonna just play with mine (and the recoiling, etc) with some pure VG and pure PG that I have before I start running precious ejmix diluted concentrates through them. I'm hoping that the thicker liquids we use (compared to most e-juices) will prevent any leaks, but will also wick properly. Seems like you may get to test things out before I will.

I use mini protanks (1 & 2 never tried a pt3) with regular ecig juice and rarely get leaks. Sometimes there is some juice on the battery when I unscrew it but it's usually minimal. But for some reason, when using liquidized concentrate it seems to leak much worse. They usually work pretty well for a while but eventually a leak happens. I've lost everywhere from a few drops to almost 2 ml at a time. It's often a sticky mess and it has happened at some very inopportune times. This has led me to no longer using the protanks for concentrates. I stick with the sapphires even though they don't perform as well as the protanks. Hope you guys get good results with the pt3's, I'll be interested how they work out.

I have high hopes that the mini PT3 won't suffer from leaks, but I've read the reports on all the other versions of the PT too, and that's why I'm gonna try them with thick e-juice loads first before I put concentrate based loads in. Still, a leaky mess is a leaky mess, even if it doesn't have $50-$100 worth of concentrates dissolved in it. I wonder why you had no leaks with e-juice, but did have leaks with your concentrate mix? What kind of e-juice were you running (i.e., how much VG/PG)? When you made your concentrate mix, did you use ejmix or your own concoction of PG/VG/whatever?

At $7 each, shipping included, I figured the PT3's were worth a try. That is if they ever get here... Probably better that 2clicker gets his first, as he's further along his path than I am on mine, and I can learn from his experiences. :)

Ive used all different types of nic eliquid in my pro tanks. 100% VG, 50/50 mixes, 70/30, etc. My concentrate mixes have always been made with ejmix.

Hopefully the pro tank 3's will work out but I suspect they may be subject to the same issues. I've also used and experienced leaks in Aspire bdc clearos and kanger evods. I've been looking at the kanger aerotank as it has a sealed 510 connection and may eliminate the problem. Haven't bought one because they are bigger than the pro tank minis and I mostly use liquidized concentrates when I need stealth and pocketability. I'm hoping a mini aerotank comes out at some point, I would definitely give that a try.

i will be trying EO solids in it first (see one hitter quitter thread. i am having great success with my reg PT2 in that regard), and then i will run some ejmix through it with a custom ceramic coil.

i dont vape for nicotine so i cant speak to reg eliquid but my PT2 and mini davide (PT coils) leak w/out fail. doesnt matter what i do they will leak. its worse when the liquid level is below half due to the negative pressure that builds up. i too have lost up to a .5 ml of ejmix to my leaking mini divide. other than the leaking these tanks work beautifully.

i doubt the PT3 and mPT3s will be any different, but for $10 i couldnt resist.

worst case i will just use it for shatter.

i will still be on the lookout for a leakproof ejmix solution... pref in glass.

i did not even think about the aerotank having dif airpath than the orig (duh).

i also would love to try one, but would prefer the smaller form factor of the minis.

mini aerotank may just be the ticket. and i am sure it is coming.

EDIT***. sorry for the double post mods!

I had some leaking out the mouthpiece when turning it upside down, but the only other liquid i've lost so far is from accidentally unscrewing the whole thing apart while trying to take the tank off my mod, after not tightening the tank itself properly. This is with the regular t3, i got from gotvapes, not protank t3. This is with 2 times half full to empty of 1:1 mix and another half full to empty of more dilute mix.

Just waiting on my ejmix to arrive from the states. Going to use my shinny new protank 3 mini.

To those of you that have used the ejmix, how does this comparison to dabs or smoking a spliff? In flavor and high. I'm hoping a few puffs on this will get me as high as any other method of smoking.

I found the flavor of my 1:1 mix very reminiscint of dabs, and it took me around three hits to get from baseline to fairly medicated, would take more hits if topping off, but if i waited for it to really wear off it didn't usually take many rips to get where i wanted to be. The kid i work with was good after one, but he's not a particularly heavy toker.

it wont be as potent as straight dabs because it is cut, but it should be more potent than smoking because it is still concentrated.

thats good. It would be nice to find a mid point between the train wreck of dabs and the slower intake of a spliff.

well i think u have found your solution. just remember to do a 1:1 mix at least. 1g to 1ml of mix. or for more potent liquid you could do a more oil to liquid ratio. just need to make sure it flows enough to wick.

oh and remember to heat the ejmix before adding your oil. this will help eliminate excess mixing time. if you heat the oil first it will stick to the bottom of the beaker (or whatver u are mixing in) and you will be stirring forever to get it all off the glass and mixed in. heat the mix first and the oil wont stick to anything and will dissolve much quicker.

Need a solution before summer, will be traveling through Europe most of the summer and need carts I can count on.

Being at home it is easy to deal with messes, leaks, and mixing. I will need to mix and travel through many places. Leaks could kill a weeks supply.

The gotvapes sapphire carts, discussed here are great for traveling. They aren't the biggest hitters but they give solid, consistent performance and they don't leak. They are the stealthiest option I've come across, especially paired with a small battery such as the ones provided with the Liquidizer kit or an ego mini. You can get somewhat improved performance from them with an ego twist or similar vv battery. A Sapphire clearo on an ego battery and the pen cap style cover (discussed in the linked thread) make an extremely reliable, solid, pocketable little vape pen.

Unfortunately gotvapes is out of stock and has been for some time. @GetToTheChoppa had a cache of clearos and pen caps he was offering to FCers but I'm not sure if he has any left.

Been using the sapphire carts for a couple of months and have not had any leaks but performance wise I find them not so great, I have to burp the carts often. I think I am going to check out the luna liquid cart since the Cera carts do so well with straight concentrates my hopes are the liquid cart will take care of my ejuice needs and EJmix needs.

Strange, i rarely if ever have to burp my sapphires. I don't love the performance of them either but I do feel like they work much better with an ego twist or other vv battery. They hit pretty nice at 4.3+ volts.

do the sapphires compare to a kanger tank as far as rips go? i find the kanger tanks to be adequate for ejmix, but i would not want any less cloud production.

will a sapphire rip like a kanger?
