update: Just experienced the same glowing hot bamboo issue. Turned it back on at 12 let it heat up and heat soak came back turned it to 2pm took a while no green light, looked down the bamboo and saw the glowing.

Now I don't want to use it, feel like its gonna end in tears. I'm going to have to get a support ticket going.

as stated I have the same issue but I try to keep focused on the EVO when turned on and power cycle if I feel temp should be ok.
Usually it turns to green then or I can find the zone where it turns green with the dial, to see how much is missing.

So observe, power cycle a lot and that way I can use it nicely.

I do not leave it unattended in fear of the orange glow and turn off after usage.

More heat up time but hey it seems to work

Mailed support with similar statement, let's see what they can find out :)

I'm still trying to comprehend how this could possibly happen. After all that extensive testing and retesting that went without a single problem, how could so many units be faulty?
Seriously is there a single intl unit that arrived in one piece and isn't dangerously overheating to red hot?

Tomorrow, I'm going to a long and expensive trip to our customs just to get the EVO, and I'm not going there with an excited smile on my face.
I would need to be the first lucky one to get the first properly working unit... I've never been half that lucky in my life :(

Well I just got the EVO and the red LED issue is the same for me, it was green at low temp for once or twice, but I couldn't care less , my original cloud acted the same, I don't think it will over heat because the cloud needs to keep his temp right all the time anyway...it doesn't feel that hot its on 12:15pm or so

Anyway, the Puck is nice :) and the evo as well...smaller than the original cloud...

Started trying out my legal herbs...the good one's don't vaporize as good as mary of course but I thought Levander was nice but the chamomile was pretty awesome!
I need to grab me some of that...took the chamomile out of a tea bag lol
Not sure if he does anything but I feel nice ;)

Well they planned a day to post ALL INTL UNITS and here we are a month later and people still don't have tracking numbers. This probably happened in the same way... the US market is just bigger and more important to them at the moment I guess.

I understand that the US market is more important, but if you can't treat international customers properly, don't offer an international version. I would have taken the US version and used it with my HIGH QUALITY TRANSFORMER had I known this was going to happen. Literally every post I have seen has had the same problem. Did they not turn on one EVO? I, like others, thought part of the extra wait was due to extensive testing. If I have to send my evo back, does that mean double customs charges? And does anyone know why some got priority and others got first class shipping? I feel like 50 usd+shipping for national customers should have covered priority and it would have been appreciated("expected").
I'll end my rant because I hate being a whiny customer (literally the first product in my short life), I don't have my evo yet, and the sample size isn't very large but... :disgust:

I think we are all entitled to a rant given the catastrophe that the international launch is becoming/has become.

Would really appreciate an update from stonemonkey on the questions raised regarding lack of testing, postage and returns. A reply from vapexhale support to my email sent last week would be great too...

I've invested more than $750 with Vapexhale over the past six months and still have yet to receive even a single wrist band.

@liscoe you've got a knack for posting just what I'm thinking :)

It's really disappointing that there have been no responses from VXL in this thread despite all the issues that need to be addressed. I feel sure that we will all end up satisfied eventually, but this has been and still is a crazy ride like I've never experienced before with anything I've ever purchased!

I'm going to be picking mine up from the post office tomorrow. I'm not quite sure how to feel after all the reports now, but I'd say I'm still pretty excited. Custom charges weren't as bad as I feared - £37.91 for my Evo and puck, including the £8 handling fee by those robbers at Royal Mail!

Glad I could infiltrate your brain @vapecat ;)

We deserve some some attention and explanation - I've found folk on this thread to be extremely patient and supportive of Vapexhale (especially so considering all the delays and mistakes made) and our faith should be repaid with prompt updates rather than silence.

I too am sure that we will one day have an amazing vapouriser but the journey is becoming increasingly frustrating and I am getting close to giving up. If I wasn't so excited by the Evo I'd have asked for my money back long ago.

Give us an update stonemonkey! You have been pretty good at communication and us internationals really need to feel that someone actually cares :(

Evo rocked up in sydney today.

Packaging is just stupid, one standing hight drop would break it for sure. Everything should be bubble-wrapped, not filled in with loose packing.

Besides that, works perfectly, one instance of green/red issue, 12' restart fixed it.

About 10 ELBs in, we'll see how we go.

It ruined a speech of mine today.

FYI, I got 2 ELBS but I have like 6 or 8 from the original cloud...have to say not having this vape might make me want to try out mary more than before...but the cloud would probably collect dust until I can reunite with mary,
I had a terrible dream about breaking my friend HT lol, I don't know why...

BTW, I really like the EVO package

Another EVO landed in Australia and defective. I didn't even get a full session. Upon second heat up the heater just ran (red light for 5+ minutes) until the unit started smoking at which point I turned it off. Luckily I spotted what was happening and my bamboo is intact.

It now needs to be power cycled 10 times each use to work at all and I can't change temperature or the heater runs constantly with a red light again.

Mine worked fine but did not stop after 1 hour...on red light...the 2nd session was green good but stopped automatically after less than an hour...then the next cycle ran for more than an hour on red.

Intl. Evo still working fine, maybe 30 ELBs over 2 sessions.

Still only one green/red instance.

Two ticks heard, one upon each cool-down. Both sounded like movement between two surfaces, rather than cracking.

Swagger barrel is a bit chat, can't really rip on it at all. Still decent but, and very well made.

I would leave it on all the time, but I don't trust the circuitry yet, so the glass will have to bear that problem.

Fingers very crossed. Self very impressed.

Edit:

Red hot bamboo has reared it's bastard bastard, caught it quickly, cool down was ok. Two ELBs since have been ok, close shave i hope. I wrap it in a pillow to cool down as slow as possible.

This kraken is all pervasive, it seems.

So everyone is getting the red light it seems.

@Mosh I have dreams about dropping/breaking the cloud/evo/glass too! Haha my mate also had one last week about breaking his cloud+. Cant really blame us they do have a very good reputation of breaking/not working!

My cloud went red and green exactly as expected, no issues there. If only the glass was still intact. . .

The Hydrafoot keeps my worries to zero, I forgot to mention that I dig it!
If only I had it with the original showerdome it would might be still alive...but the 5.0 has it now anyway so it doesn't really matter...

On the other hand, I bought some more herbal blends ... hope they work also good (Stevia, Luisa, salvia and nettle)

Cant believe that this situation rumbles on. Got fed up 4 months ago of not being given straight answers as to the preorder and so glad didn't do the IGG, instead bought an LSV, have never looked back. I dipped into this expecting as to see everyone enjoying (which would then result in me having to have one!) and is truly shocking to have read the past few pages.

I get that Stone Monkey is an awesome and well loved guy around these parts but you guys should get recognition for your patience and continued support. I would have lost it months ago!

For the record I am a massive lover of the Cloud and Vapexhale but haven't they been suffering from these sort of issues for years?

Hopefully these issues are fixed but its becoming increasingly hard to part with my cash whilst these issues remain and continue.

I am back from the trip to customs and have my EVO.

So the trip itself cost me about 15$ and they charged me another ~70$ at customs.
So far this trade-in cost me almost 400$. I hope at least the bamboo is going to be in one piece.

*Opens the package*

Contents:
-2x ELB
-4x wristband
-a nice little hydrafoot gift (in contrast to my other one, it has only 2/3 radius, has a hollow joint, and has a nicer looking edge)
25iu6f8.jpg

(The hydrafoot on the right is the gift)
-oh and the power cord of course.

The bamboo is not broken and there is no almost drool inducing restriction like in my old Cloud.
When I pulled on it, the loud whistle has startled me, but I like that it has much less drag than my old unit, that is exactly what I was wishing for.

Now let's get to the issue that striked me the first second I saw it and I'm still completely mind-blown how something this obvious on first glance could possibly slip through QC:

THE TEMPERATURE KNOB IS MISSING! WTF?

Did they even LOOK at these units before shipping them? It's not really a critical issue, it's just ugly and not so user-friendly.
Luckily, the knob holder is exactly the same as the OG, so I can put my Cloud+ knob on it.
However I hate how ugly that knob is. That must have been the ugliest batch of knobs ever put on clouds.
...An ugly knob is always better than nothing, so I'm putting it on:

BEFORE / AFTER

So let's deal with this and continue testing...

Oh, there is another tiny thing I noticed:
The power switch is not perfectly in place, the off side is not pushed all the way into its place, so I've pushed it in with a quiet audible click and now it's in place.

Assuming that every single working unit had the red light issue so far my is probably going to be doing this too.
When is this happening? Randomly? When you move the dial? When?
I'm really scared of this. I'll just keep attention on it every second it is on and probably it will be fine until this gets resolved.

So when I forget about the missing knob the units looks completely ok. Everything is aligned and smooth.
Once last thing that concerns me is that the bamboo intake is touching the enclosure on the bottom. I don't know how much force if any is there, but I know that this was what killed my old Cloud. Its bamboo was touching the enclosure at the GonG end under some pressure and after 200 days the bamboo broke for this reason. No other stress was there.

So, I'm going to turn it on, try playing with the knob and see how these LEDs respond and then if everything goes OK I'm going to hit it.

*Turns the unit on*

I like how the red light is brigher now. ... ...I just don't want to see it when it's not supposed to be lit.
First LED difference I could see was that it flashed green on the start and immediately turns red. It always flashed that green for a fraction of second when I restart.
I can also see that green flash when I turn the unit off while its red.
My old Cloud+ always started at red. Also I can hear some nasty sound coming out when it heats up and cools down.
This is getting me worrind about the bamboo as a lot of people hearing these sound had the bamboo break shortly after. :(
The heater is mighty fast. Not even minute of heating passed and I can feel a lot of convection heat on my lips sucking on it.
...

So far I think the LEDs are working way diferently than my old Cloud. The red doesn just change to green immediately when on temp, but flashes super fast between green and red until the green overtakes. Looks like these LED are working like PWM or something like that.
...

So during this short testing I couldn't get the red light issue, but I'm still going to be attentive.
The LEDs actually seem to know what they are doing in contrast ty my old Cloud, which LEDs seemed to me to work more like a timer than actual sensor.
So I'm going to fill an ELB and finally try this thing. When the airflow is so much better than my old unit I am really expecting a really nice hit :)
...
The hit was thin and tasty. A low temp one. The unit has been on for a while so I think it's already heat soaked, so I'm going up with the dial a bit.
A bad thing is I will have to make some hash marks as this old knob doesn't have these hour marks on it. So there is nothing except the visible angle that tells me the dialed position.
Not really a big issue to me, I have a good visual accuracy for angles so I'm good.
Also the enclosure hotness is not that bad as I thought.
I'll still give it some more time to heat soak, but now it only gets uncomfortable above the vapexhale logo so I can still make a full comfortable grip now without holding it on the bottom.

*Some more time to heat soak on the new ~1hr temp.*
...
This is a Cloud!
So blue, so smooth, so tasty, so effective!
I'm going up some more. Let's try 2hrs!
...

As much time as for previous temp bumps passed and the LED still didn't turn green, so I got scared and turned it off.
No overheat, but when turned back on, it was green.
So maybe the red-light issue? If I didn't restart would it overheat? Can't tell now, maybe next time lol.
I will not be sure until I see the red hot glass, but for now I will keep being paranoid and power cycle at every 15 secods of red light or so.
...

Even bigger Cloud. I can taste the subtle temp difference there but its still so smooth compared to everything, including my old Cloud+.
The small load is still completely green with some slight yellow discoloring. I think I can still go up a lot with the temp. That's what I'm going to do:

*3hrs*

No green light after 15 secods again and a green light after a power cycle. At 15 seconds I will probably get no overheats, so I can't know unless I risk or don't give attention...
The cloud was not so big, because it got already extracted at the lower temps i can feel it :D

....

Sometimes I get the red light. I can be sure it is in red light mode when i move the dial all the way between max and min and if it doesns go green anywhere it's the red light issue.
When the LEDs are working right it always goes green when I go over the real temp. And goes into that PWM rapid switching at edges.
Really feels like a senzor now when it works right, I like that.
I don't know if it overheats in this "faulty mode". Now it seems to me it either turn the heater off or maintains the temp for me...
I've never seen the glass get red hot at this glitch. I hope it stays at least this way.
When I turn the unit off at max temp I can see a little red glow from the heater (not the glass). Just prior to that I pulled a nice cloud without combustion so I think that's normal.
A red hot glass surely isn't and I don't want ever to see that.
The unit can be in the "red light mode" even after restart.
I really don't know what causes it, sometimes it happens a lot and I can't get it to work right even after restarting a lot, sometimes it works right for a prolonged periods of time...
First time I think the heater went off when I was slowly going up.
Then it went into red light and even restarts didn't help.
One of the restarts even didn't light up the LEDs, that scared me (can something be bad at the power socket? i can rock it back and forth in every direction slightly.)
After a cool down I tried again and now I got great results at max (and did that slight red glow test above). The max feel the same as on my old Cloud, which is perfect.
I think one difference between the EVO and Cloud on vapor output is that EVO gives more more vapor at slower pulls.
And my EVO gives me lighter ABV than the Cloud even when giving the same results.
Maybe this is normal and just my old Cloud was so restrictive I has to pull a lot to get the airflow like slow pulling on the EVO.
I think the restrictions moved down also adds to this.

I really want to love this vape!
It's probably even greater than the Cloud. Just if it wasn't so glitchy. And I still can't comprehen't how the fuck could they send a Cloud without a temp knob :D
Also I think the first run was the glitchiest. And then I swthed back to the default power cord which wasn't as loose at my soft one.

...
After adding wristbands the top half get as hot as the Cloud in wristbands and the bottom half is cool.
Without them the top 1/4 got super hot, but bottom 3/4 stays cool.

Great, I've got my Evo, but no ELBs in the package. So I can't even test it. What a complete pisstake, I'm so annoyed :cuss:

Does anyone in the UK have a spare ELB that they could loan me?

Apologies, I thought this thread was closed and that all the action was in the standard EVO thread. We are currently collecting data (7 units so far) on the various issues that are going on and trying to replicate them. With the varying countries and the varying voltage, we are trying to figure out exactly what is happening and how to resolve it. We are currently working out an easy exchange program with a local distributor so that these units don't need to be sent back to the US.

We had tested all the units with our international power supply before shipping so it is a bit puzzling as to why the units are getting so hot when they did not do that in the United States. Needless to say, we have our engineering staff dedicated to solve this issue as we knew that due to the different power grids of each country, there would be some additional variables that were not accounted for.

Just want to add to SM55's post. We have all hands on deck today working on issues with International units. If you received an International Unit and experiencing anything out of the ordinary. Please open a support ticket. (Be sure to include Serial #)

Our support team is gathering data right now to hand to engineering so if you have not received a response it doesn't mean you are not being handled. Everyone should receive a response by 9 PM Pacific Standard Time.
