Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

The battery is housed in a capsule isn't it? The issue you are having sounds like something dodgy with the connection between the persei battery and the atomizer. Seems like @THC SCIENTIFIC are pretty brilliant with service though, so I'm sure you'll be sorted soon enough :)

You got me thinking... stand by...

Edit: nope, connection is fine. I thought maybe the bottom spring had collapsed due to a short, but its in perfect shape.

What gauge wire would you guys recommend for rebuilding a 3.7v KISS? I know that wrapping 5 coils with 32gauge nichrome 80 gives 3.8-4 ohms, but I was looking to wrap 5 coils for about 2 ohm for my 3.7v KISS

edit: by coils I mean times wrapped around the ceramic wick

Okay so get this... the cart registers at 7.5ohm or there abouts. My other KISS (3.7) carts are at about 2.0 (I have shakey hands).

Now the question is why my Ophos will still push this?

I remember G saying something about the ceramic cup getting spinned around which could cut the power to the coil. Or something along those lines...

Doesnt explain why it still works on ophos. Sorry just throwing ideas out there

What shipping choice is available to you? And how much is it charging?

Also usps tracking does not work outside of the US other then Canada I think. We have to many frauds from uk to even count in the past two years as the tracking numbers don't do diddle squat with usps for resolutions. We do understand that you want to give us your business but planetvape and vaporwarehouse both are our authorized retailers as well and we will still so tongue to provide top notch customer service if you decide to use them.

Never the less ill look into usps again and see if our partners are willing to add them as well.

Hey @THC SCIENTIFIC was just reading through the posts and as the shipping comment has been made before by myself and few others now, just wanted to add that I purchase a fair few things from the states and nearly always via USPS and tracking is always available to me and in detail too. When it arrives in the UK via USPS, it is taken to a depot and held till VAT/Import duty's are paid. In order to pay this one needs to provide some kind of ID, where have the option to pick up from local sorting office or deliver to end destination. With Fedex, they just send a letter after re the import charges so no ID checked.

Just thought may be useful to know in full detail so helps in making a more informed decision. However I know that customer service will be the same regardless and both resellers are great too.

My Persei top arrived safely at Planetvape and they are sending it out to me tomorrow :) I also got a little too happy and purchased a Nibbler XL, some more coils and 3.7v Rod. Very excited indeed!!

Thanks for your help in replacing! Will review my new purchases when I arrive and also am sorry to hear that you get frauded from UK a lot - prolly one of the most difficult country to fraud due to so many ID checks etc. so very unlucky OR just our standard miserable customer service that can't be bothered to investigate lol.... : (

@SleepinginCA @thcscientific and anyone else that this may apply to, I am a long time lurker and finally made an account to have a few of my questions answered before I press the checkout button.
Let me say, that I have read nearly all the pages in this thread, and most of THC's other threads on here as well, albeit not always in the proper flow of order. Many of my questions have been answered, and google searching with FC prefacing the search seemed to be quite helpful as well. However, I am still left with a few questions.Currently I have one of the older Persei models, Matte black in the original black packaging, with both the dual and single tops. I have been quite successful thanks to this excellent thread and taking the time to read it, in terms of my 5ohm carts. I am ready to take that next step and enter into the Hercules domain. Now on to my questions so I can order this thing and take advantage of this discount code. :) Take my money already! :)

1. Will the top on my unit have any problems with either the SR71 or the SR74
2. Aside from ease of assembly, are there any other options that make the 74 a better purchase?
3. The 71 has more power potential/wattage (correct?), does this make it the more capable hercules model due to a greater usage potential/performance (maybe for hash or flower?)
4. Considering the 71 is the older (outdated) model, why is it 30 bucks more expensive (as seen on planet vape)? It seems like a lot of the guys on here with more UPTECH experience use the 71, is this because on a performance level its slightly more capable or is this because they got them when they were first released and stuck with them?
Here is what I am ordering for the above mentioned Persei:
-SS Kit (anyone have pictures of a black top matched with either the red or matte silver SS kit? or should I just go with black?)
-3.7 Ti Kiss (black, depending on the SS color chosen)
-2x AW IMR 18650 2000mah
-2x AW IMR 18350 3.7v
(will be purchasing the better charger listed from amazon)
-SR 71 or 74, need help deciding?
-Nibbler XL....because, apparently its a must have;)
-3.7 black rod
Basically, all factors aside, I am a connoisseur and a highly technical kind of person. I am fine with a learning curve and would like the highest performing hercules model recommended no matter how difficult it may appear to assemble or disassemble at first glance. If only one could exist until the end of time, and only one...for the people that have lots of experience with both, which would you choose if it where the only one you could keep, the 71 or 74? which ever set up, Id like to get both the 3.7 tasty black rod mentioned and the 7.4 body incinerating white rod.
5. How often would one typically need to replace TI coils? and Rods?

I really appreciate the expedient and insightful recommendations from those with experience in advance and look forward to joining the bandwagon.
6. also, whats the story on the 8 essential oil vape for $199? The woman I talked to when I called the number, stated she could not discuss anything about it. It seems that I remember this being on the site for quite a while (6 months - a year maybe??) Why would one choose this over the persei? possibly in relation to the Vection/Duction discussed in the other thread? I thought i read that the 8 was an abandoned idea or was that the Leela? Lol but it was spoken about on the phone like it would be released soon and was in progress
Thanks guys! I wont be a stranger!

1. Will the top on my unit have any problems with either the SR71 or the SR74
Unlikely, providing the SR is assembled correctly. Recommend getting a digital multimeter to verify correct assembly. Older tops may not have current levels of short protection, so get this step right.
2. Aside from ease of assembly, are there any other options that make the 74 a better purchase?
The 74 should be less likely to leak or burn oil. Also increased battery life.
3. The 71 has more power potential/wattage (correct?), does this make it the more capable hercules model due to a greater usage potential/performance (maybe for hash or flower?)
Yes, the 71 has more power, but I don't hear many of the people with 74s complaining about lack of power.
4. Considering the 71 is the older (outdated) model, why is it 30 bucks more expensive (as seen on planet vape)?
You'd have to ask PV about their pricing. Maybe w9 lowered the price of the new model.

I think the latter. Ultra-adopters and completists might have both the 71 and 74, but my SR-71 is holding up like a champ, so no need to upgrade here. Doing the cooldown hits pretty much eliminated burn/leakage.
5. How often would one typically need to replace TI coils? and Rods?
I think not for a long time. Still on my original white rod and SS coil, with no end in sight. But one day, everything must fail.

A Core unit to AC power the Persei might be useful if it gets a lot of home use.

@ataxian Thanks so much man. I'm totally new to this form of vaping. You definitely sound like you know your stuff with the Persei!

So it would be a matter of loading the hash and the persei changes it to a soft liquidish kind of form? I imagine a small amount of hash would provide many hits?
I have done so many different variations!
HASH I've gone through a bunch!
I'm on a SHATTER obsession because it's easy to make!
I have some HASH somewhere I can test out tomorrow!
It's Tuesday tomorrow I believe?

@ataxian What's that yellow tank attached to your Ophos mate?

You have piqued my curiosity!

Also, I just found this:

Wow, you can put herb in the herc too? Does this work on the herc sr74 too? If so, I can happily justify paying for a persei and herc if I can do this :D

All my days in a daze...
Doh! My few days old teal Persei top bit the dust a little while ago :( nooooo
Just screwed the top back on after putting freshly charged batts and smelled a burning smell... quickly unscrewed the top to see a sickening little puff of smoke come out.:cry:
Melted spot on the underside and all it does now is blink at me.
Have no clue why this occured. Batts test out at 4.2v each. That's correct for right off charger, yeah?

I hardly got to know ye, teal!

I submitted a support ticket on W9's site but might as well ask here... I bought from PlanetVape so do I deal with warranty replacement through W9 directly or PlanetVape? Anybody know?

PV has always referred me to W9 for warranty, though PV has said let them know of any issues. Fortunately w9 has always taken care of me so far.
