I never commented on how cool it was of FV to include the little black rubber band with the kit.
I did not actually know what it was for, but it was a special quality of band. I contacted FV to ask, and learned it is here to strap the stem to the unit for easy packing and moving!
Thanks FV... that is GREAT!
I have since employed it.

Speaking of stems....
I again have made a couple changes as zeroing in on the most comfortable way to use this pup.
The stem is now double elbowed to get my eyes in the right place for viewing the window without walking away cross-eyed.
And about the viewing. I took away the bazooka light and went for more of a pop gun. Just used a cheap type LED key chain light and removed 1 of the 2 batteries to lessen the brightness. Angled the LED down and shielded the light from escaping from the sides.
First tried the white and did not like it. Gave blue a go, interesting but ended up going for red.

Now sit back and join me in a puff with the red light.

That feels better......

I have received the S2 kit a week ago. Today I wanted to clean the FV with iso and I have discovered that the one week old ceramic support is totally broken..just the outside frame of it is not broken..the inside doesn't exist anymore...How is this possible ? A couple of time I have reached combustion but nothing really serious...is this an S2 K issue ? How to solve this ? Shell I ask for a replacement ?

That sounds like you got the original S2 spacer. Does it look like this?

You can see that this one has already developed a crack in the centre. These were replaced with a second version that looks like this:

Where did you get your S2 kit?

yes correct ! I v got the original version...so the original version should not be on the market right now ? I have got it from an online dealer in Aussie..

Probably I should inform the FV guys...maybe they do not know that the original version is still on the market...it is really not working : it was totally destroyed after one week..

Contact @FlashVAPE and he will take care of you. In the meantime, until you get the right spacer you can still get convection from your FV by using the S2 batteries and hitting it upside down:

Just be careful not to block the air intake holes.

By the way, I merged the three consecutive posts that you made. Please avoid back-to-back posts. Edit your previous post instead.

There's another way to limp by until you get a replacement. Pending your access to stainless steel mesh.
Using a technique which is used in the world of DIY e-cig devices. Google "how to rebuild a genesis atomizer video". Or allow me. "click here". The only part of interest is rolling the mesh and heating to make non-conductive. Once you understand that, the rest is self explanatory.

Thanks guys for your help ! I have already written to FB and as always their customer service is first class...no words . They are so fast in taking care of customers problems. I have noticed that even with only the original spacer frame (what is inside the frame is no more ) there is a small gap between the screen and the bottom. So it may still function...just the top screen is a bit loose so can't shake well. Let's see..Cheers !

Received my (top) screen replacement tool last week in the mail even while the website still said "Awaiting Fulfillment". It's true even a guy like me with banana fingers and lack of mechanical skill could still replace that screen (the first time !) in less than a minute. Highly recommended.

My next big investment probably next week will be the S2 spacer. I've been really digging the plain jane model (no S2) but I think it's time to try it out in overdrive, lol. Two questions, do you still need a tabbed screen under the spacer or just sit the spacer on the heating element/screen and only put a tabbed screen on top of the spacer (?), and do you still need to shake it after every hit ?

TIA

You use a tabbed screen above the spacer. You still need to shake it, but I don't shake after every hit even in conduction mode.

Every hit works for me, I'm a sipper..... Next question. Does the ceramic piece wedge in the bowl tight or will it fall out if the unit is turned upside down ?

If there is no tabbed screen then the spacer will fall out when you invert the FV. Tabbed screens don't usually fall out in my experience, so if there is one in place then it will hold the spacer in.

BUT.... COULD you keep a tabbed screen under the ceramic piece to make changing from S2 back to S1 mode easier to do by just removing the one top tabbed screen and dumping out the spacer. Would having a bottom tabbed screen (between the heating element/screen and the ceramic spacer) lessen the heat and or convection process ?

I promise no more questions until I get hold a spacer and do my own experimenting ;>)

I've never tried that because it's easy to insert a tabbed screen. The time and effort savings wouldn't justify it for me even if it didn't reduce the heat available, which I think it must to some degree.

Ask all the questions you want, it's not a problem.

Ok, finally getting to my Flashvape PA review. It's awesome. I'm all about the stage 2. One slight issue though, it doesn't go to 11!!!!!

This is strange.... Sometimes now when I push the button nothing happens. No green light and no heat. It happens randomly sometimes seconds apart sometimes not for hours. I've re-tightened everything, wiggled the PA wire (it happened once a while ago on batteries one day but I thought maybe I had just "thought" it happened). Tonight it's been happening regularly. I know FV will be really good about fixing or replacing it but I just wondered if anything like this has happened to anyone else and/or also worried that it won't do it while/if I send it back.... any ideas ? This is the first out of 5 vaporizers that I have "broken".

EDIT : So after more playing around it happens on the battery and on the PA. Sometimes I can't get it to work at all other times I can't make it not work. It seems to be in the (power) button ? Also "seems" to be getting worse, happening more often.

Do you have a rattle in your unit? cause with mine (I don't own anymore it cause it was not my cup of tea) the power button was broke and FV CS sent me another one.
But when my issue was coming Pakalolo gave me an answer about a way to fix my issue, look at some pages before and you can find his answer about my issue (power button don't work).

No rattle except for the top cap a bit which I can stop by holding one finger on it when I shake it.

The issue PPN mentioned that I had was a collapse of the spring in the power button on the bottom. Since you have a problem with both batteries and the PA, you have a different problem. The FV is a simple device so the only suspect left is the power switch.

That top cap rattle is probably the glass window. You can tighten the top section enough to stop it rattling, it just takes a fair bit of effort/strength. I apply a little dab of olive oil (extra virgin) to the male threads on each section of the FV every now and again, which makes it easier to tighten them fully (and unscrew them).

Do you mean that sometimes you can't turn it on and other times you can't turn it off, even when you release the button? Or do you mean that sometimes the unit works fine (green light / heat) and other times it doesn't work at all (no green light / no heat)?

Top rattle is not an issue. Sometimes the unit works fine (green light / heat) and other times it doesn't work at all (no green light / no heat). But it gets worse.... Now I've finished off 2 full bowls of material and have only experienced a 1 second power failure in all that time... but how can I ever trust it again and if I ship it off to FV for a refund/fix/swap and it works for him consistently (remember it has ran for weeks before without failing) will he think I'm just some senile old codger, lol. I had a car once that never missed or backfired as long as my mechanic was driving it. In the end I bought a newer (dependable) car. Go figure. I love this thing and it is definitely my daily driver but I need to be able to trust it not to fail me during some important time of need :>(
