Have you looked at the herbalaire a very solid bag vape and the only down side it has to the volcano is that you don't get a valve system with the bags and you have to put your fum over the bag and the HA only gets to 200c
The HA can also be used with a whip or direct to a bong also they do a 4 or 5 bag attachment grate for part vapeing

Welcome to the forum hope that you enjoy it as much as I do. My two cents on your question is i like the digital volcano. One of the many things that I learned here on FC. is that materials vaporize at different temperatures. Like many other Vapes it Does a good job at hitting and maintaining these temperatures. I have used the classic and own a digital So of course have that in to consideration,I'm a bit biased. I don't know how much of a difference it really makes but I find it easy to set at the temperatures that I know I like. My wife's friend just got the classic three months ago and absolutely loves it.
Do you like pressing buttons are turning knobs? That is the question.

Very true.
I had been using a Zephyr Ion.. and was enchanted, because it heated faster and filled bags faster than the Volcano.
When it was time to clean the unit, I found myself in a messy situation.
Parts that retained resins, and places to clean that do not come fully apart.
The Volcano is easy to maintain and keep clean.
A wonderful tool.

While hoptimum and I both go digi... Captain's wife's associate was happy with the classic.
The Volcano is such an investment that you do want it to be as you like.
I prefer the Easy valve system, although I had both. People vary there also...
but as you can see from images at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/volcano.220/page-45#post-550843 The bag itself was used for over a year, and that is the only mess I got from it.. and it was all salvageable from that bag! (and consumable)
The post at http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/volcano.220/page-46#post-571059 was the only mess I got from the EZ Valve after 3 years of use. It was reclaimable and consumable as well. The notable thing about the 3 year mess was that it was invisible to me for that whole time, and I have a keen eye, and keep my tools very clean.
I did find that the solid Valve needed a bit more maintenance and a touch up with Iso along the road.

Anyone know if there's a best time or place to buy a volcano?
I was on a few vape sites email lists for a while a coupe years ago.. remember seeings a lot of discount offers and such.. don't remember any of them specifically or if they even pertained to the volcano.
Like during on April 20th or something, does Vapeworld, Planetvape, ect ever regularly offer any type of X% off all purchase coupons?

Personal contact with a retailer would possibly yield a small discount.
The best prices come from folks selling almost new units, when they decide Vaporization may not be for them. Many new Vaporizer users hear of Volcano and they take the plunge, and then they sell "like new' units on Craigslist.
Meet the seller and test out the unit before you slap down the cash.
I have found a couple on Craigslist, and the prices were right. I paid 300 for one of them.

^ damn. I do definitely remember one of those sites have a %15 off all products over X ammount. So even then usually volcanos are excluded?
but good call on the craigslist. I'm kind of sketched about buying a used one even though there's probably no reason to be.

I just sold my used Volcano on Ebay for ~£200... I remember seeing a lot of volcanos priced at around the same price, which is about £100 off a new one. Some even included bags. Might be worth a look there too. You could get a lucky bid in too you never know!

I too agree that my Volcano was worth it to me. I like what Vitolo said before me. Faster denser bags. I also owned an Extreme and enjoyed it. IMO the Volcano is a better machine.
