The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

HEY, HEY, HEYHEEEY, VAPE WEED EVERY DAY
I appreciate you guys posting here. Makes the wait a bit more bearable knowing that at least some peoples units are arriving, even if there are some issues.

VXL support emailed me back and I have been told that Pre-Orders will probably go out next week.

Update:

Had a fun birthday night with my EVO & Fakexhale :D
2 clouds + Mobius Clear matrix bub = :ko:

Unfortunately I got the red LED issue again :(

The EVO performed great, gave me maybe slightly lighter ABV than the fakexhale, but their performance was pretty on par with each other.
The EVO was set to 2.30, and the fakexhale to 3.

I'm def liking the EVO so far, just gonna have to open up a ticket to see if we can solve this LED issue...
I tried turning it off, setting the dial back to 12, and turning it on again, but that didn't help...

Didn't last long, a small shard of glass appears to have cracked from my bamboo as it was cooling down. . . Quite disappointing as this thing was looking pretty revolutionary when is was working.
Mine was shipped on the 14th for those who wanted to know.

I checked back on this thread to see if I was experiencing an isolated issue, and reading this and the following posts my heart sank. My bamboo also broke cooling down. My unit had red-light fever right from the first time I turned it on, I left it for a full hour without change, trying every spot on the dial (only found out later that it will go green if switched off and back on). Cranked all the way up, the top half of the unit became way too hot to touch with a finger for more than the tiniest fraction of a second, but still stayed solid red. When I switched it off, I noticed an odd phenomenon where the "red LED" stayed lit, even with the power cable removed. I assumed big filtering capacitors and residual charge or something. It was only when I actually looked down the bamboo that I realised what I was seeing was red hot incandescent glass. My GonG was actually glowing orange from the side by channeling the glow from the heart of the tiny, artificial sun like a fibre-optic novelty lamp. In the hours post meltdown my unit made a lot of tortured tinkling sounds at random times, and now a frosty pattern is visible on the walls down the top of the bamboo. I know she's leaking as she doesn't whistle anymore, just sounds like a straw. :c

I'm wondering how long this is going to take to get replaced, because if there's some underlying issue here that's causing a spate of similar failures, it could be a while. :/

I also got two ELBs, not six, but for some reason I was expecting four; I can't recall why, though. I was expecting the hydrafoot since the post mentioning them being included with tubes late last year, so I guess the present is the extra bands?

Sorry to hear of these lose's so soon after such a wait.

Yeah my red light issue isn't going away :(
When I experience it and its preheated at temp I can turn it off/on and it generally comes back to green. But its not that simple if its not preheated at the desired temp It doesn't always work, so your waiting for it to turn green as it heats but sometimes it forgets and never changes to green - turn it off/on and green light comes on showing it has heated but green light did not show before the reset.

I also feel like I have a cooler unit as I can max my unit and heat soak it for several hours and still not get NEAR combustion. I haven't hit really dark abv and def not black abv. I was rocking it on max and loving it mind you, but I want to do concentrates and I like being able to get my abv as dark as I feel like so yeah, let down.

What are the other international people experiencing with their evo's temps?

Mine tinkles and creaks when its cooling really hope the bamboo is ok, need to do a seal test but its always on and too hot. - And part of me doesn't want to know.

Put a j-hook or a piece of glass with no water in it on the EVO, plug the bottom of the bamboo with your finger, and blow or suck gently. Mine noticably wheezes insttead of behaving like a sealed tube. Yours is probably fine; mine got REALLY hot, I'm pretty sure much more so than it's supposed to get. I was getting combustion just past "noon", and at full power I had the Chernobyl incident.

I am still waiting for my package, reading previous posts regarding the bamboo breakage issue makes me wonder if there could be an actual health concern inhaling shard glass and whether or not it would be recommended to issue an advisory to all intl clients with instructions on how to inspect the bamboo to verify it's safe before inhaling on it.

To recap current issues pending official response, hopefully SM55 will provide official responses soon...

1. Red light issue never turning green
2. Capacitor leakage issue / red light ON when power cable unplugged
3. Bamboo breakage issue / people report poor packaging for intl
4. Hydrafoot gift not being a gift (was given to a large amount of domestic IGG contributors)
5. Return/repair policies

So my International Early Bird package arrived save and sound either.

Sadly I get the same Red light stays on and starts overheating issue but seems I was able to spot it thanks to the posts before me.
So by watching the machine closely and cycling power when feeling the heat up time should be ok, the green light comes on and overheating can be avoided! :D

I also had the orange glow when testing the first time and think the bamboo is not so clear as before when looking from top but luckily it didnt break. :)
Maybe because I turned it back on to 12 after few minutes cooldown as to not let it cool to much and build up stress in the glass?

I also need to say that the performance is just awesome as others so often reported
Thanks VapeXhale!

The rest will be fixed by feedback from all of us and the VapeXhale team I trust. :2c:

Until then watch you Intl EVO's temp closely and Power cycle

2. Capacitor leakage issue / red light ON when power cable unplugged

It wasn't residual charge like I assumed, it was the glass inside the bamboo being so incredibly hot that it was glowing with heat for minutes after the power was removed.

3. Bamboo breakage issue / people report poor packaging for intl

The packing wasn't amazing, but wasn't that bad either. The broken bamboo in both cases was intact when the units arrived. It seems to be related to overheating the glass and ruining the temper, causing stress-cracking as it cools.

Edit: Just caught up the main EVO thread too. Looks like it wasn't just the two cases of broken glass in this thread, that seemed to be heat-related; in the main thread there's another couple of units that arrived already broken, like b0's. :/

I just wanted to throw out there that while I do think the packaging left a little to be desired, I wouldn't go so far as to say "poor".

Just coulda used a little bit more bubble wrap IMO.

For example, the evo package itself was "loose" in the shipping box. It wasn't slipping and sliding around because of the packing peanuts and whatnot, but I would've expected it to be a smidge more wrapped up.
I'm pretty sure my hydratube had 1 piece of bubble wrap around it. I personally would use a bit more when shipping glassware, but as I said in another post, it all arrived perfectly intact, so there's not much for me to complain about :)

Vape Enthusiast
3 out of 3 people who got their 220v EVO's have reported issues in the first day - I counted treeman, paracaps and teedub.
My package is still in transit, I am EXTREMELY concerned about what's coming next for me.
What's the policy for returning a damaged Evo (who pays for the delivery?)

EDIT:

@paracaps can you please share what kind of serious issues you're having with your unit?

Having the same issues with the red light not turning green
Turns green sometimes for a second and then when trying to vape it goes red with massive combustion at 12 with the taste of plastic coming out of glass. The Evo also gets extremely hot to a point that you get a little worried the insides will melt.

The unit also came a little scratched as if it had been used.

Hopefully the team at Vapexhale will have this sorted as soon as possible with a replacement of a new unit

My tracking is still saying 'pre-shipment' and has done for nearly two weeks now so I have no idea where my Evo is, it should have arrived by now. Not particularly impressed with the United States Postal Service- if you don't ever bother to update your tracking details what is the point of having tracking details!?!?

I am very concerned about the issues that some/all (has anyone got one that works yet?) of us seem to to have on arrival- I thought that the long delays us international customers have suffered were due to the extreme testing that the units were undergoing? Given that the red/green light issue appears to be self evident almost as soon as the Evo is switched on why on earth wasn't this picked up on before they were sent out. I'd have rather waited another few days while they were thoroughly tested than have to send my unit back (I may explode).

This is becoming more farcical than ever- I've waited months for my Evo, now it seems to be lost in the post and if it does arrive it probably won't work anyway.

Sob.

I think after a point some things just stop making me angry and start becoming funny.

This is one of those situations. I was angry in December/January. Its now April and I still don't have an evo or a tracking number and if I do so happen to get one it'll probably be broken. This is just becoming so utterly stupid that all I can do is laugh at this point. What else can we do?

Wait...so I ordered an EVO and HT yesterday. Located in RI. Where is VapeXhale located out of? Should I be worried I just invested in this device?

We are talking about the international version. There were similar problems with the US version at the beginning but they were fixed. Vapexhale will repair the EVO if there is a problem. Seeing as you live in the US, it shouldn't be a big deal. You should be fine. I believe Vapexhale is mainly located in Philadelphia.

FINALLY ...

And ?

The loud barking of our Kelpie's left me in no doubt ... It was finally here!
The postman, in fear of his life, had fearlessly placed the parcel on the doorstep and fled - no signature required! The Kelpies looked pleased with themselves ... My heart quickened as I brought the parcel inside.
I expected something bigger ! Carefully placed on the table and opened I was glad to see everything was there though as others have warned a little light on the packing. Gingerly checked 2 evos and no bamboo problems ... I then took one unit upstairs to my wife and returned to setup my unit in the kitchen.
A loud bang and the answer machine is resetting ... Not good ... The wife is complaining that her unit is not working !!! Finally my unit is GREEN ... I definitely need to be medicated right now. 9 months of waiting and wifey is not happy. I quickly pack the ELB and start at 12 ... Little vapour .. The LED color change is quite nice and I don't seem to have any RED LED issues. Turned up to 2:30 and the vapor starts... I am a little under impressed. Nice taste. I lift out the ELB and check the color ... Very light. I grind and reload. I am not paying attention and just inhale the tasty vapour ... The Cloud of vapour unobserved strikes me out of nowhere ...My lungs are soaked in it ... And then ... Very Satisfied !!! It took a while but on returning to reality, I reset the fuse and tested with wife's evo ... No Problem ... Traced fault back to power board ... Wifey has been medicated and is expected to make a full recovery. I am not expecting to be too active today... The temptation to have another ELB is just too strong ...

I hope that other internationalists get their evos soon ...

Shame we haven't heard an official voice in here for quite some time.

So are people opening support tickets for these red light issues? And any responses yet?

I really don't want to lose my evo when i only just got it but i do want an evo that works.

I haven't opened a ticket yet.

Wanted to give it a couple of sessions to see if it was a one off thing...

I was using my EVO last night, and didn't have the red LED issue, but I didn't change temp.
I just set it to 3, and was lucky enough to not bump it.
I don't recall power toggling it, and I think it was on for like 3-4 hours, so maybe my auto-shutoff is a bit wonky?
More testing required :science:

Also, when I get the red LED issue, it still seems to function as intended, it's just that the LED doesn't respond.
It still heated up to wherever I set the dial to, I haven't had any combustion issues, and certainly didn't have my bamboo glow orange-hot.

Aside from these software issues, performance-wise it's kicking ass :D

Unfortunately I will have to ... After 30 minutes the warmed up unit went from GREEN to RED and the power switch did not turn the unit off. Removed the cord quickly! Looks like the active is shorting and bypassing the temperature control. The bamboo is still intact so this may be simple to rectify.

I have explained to my wife that I will need continue testing using her evo ...

FYI, when I got the original cloud (110v version) I never had green light but it worked wonderfully for a week until the big mistake of ice cubes...

Anyway, the cloud is here, I need to leave work before 17:30PM to get to the post office before 18:00 PM to pick it up!

I got my herbs ! Lavender, Verbena, Theresa and Passion Fruit!

Will report !

Its been 7 month and few days without mary jane, I'd be honest, I don't feel like its missing but I think its because my mind is set of getting out of troubles...at first I was in deep mess with anxiety but now I feel much better, the only place I vape mary is in my dreams, and it feels amazing...too bad it doesn't happen often...really looking forward to try my herbs! wish me luck!

Yup, my unit stays on longer than an hour, which I like but sometimes it doesn't.

My evo is like a crazy girl that you cant stop having the hots for.

And yeah mine still works as well the light just gets confused. Im worried it will cause the orange glass glow mind you. If left unattended as a red light, therefore the temp isn't registered and continues to heat up?

EDIT: GAHHHHHHHHH I just went to use the evo its been on for over an hour at 12 I turned it to 2pm took a couple of hits whilst its changing temp. It didn't go green (red light issue) so tried resetting it to see if it was at temp/green. When I turned it back on it flashed red several times than the light went out. Then I realised it was glowing but the unit was off. looked down the bamboo and its glowing bright orange with heat! Ive unplugged it and its cooled down took quite a while for the orange to dissapate. Im hoping it doesnt break the bamboo.

Man Im so edgy using this thing, always gingerly handling it and never knowing what to expect from it or if it's gonna die. I don't even want to turn it on at the moment.

So to confirm are there no international units that work 100% correctly? Has anyone received an Int evo and had no issues whatsoever?

I wonder how this is all going to be resolved?

Not on this forum. But the sample has got bigger and there is still no 100% correctly working unit reported here. I'm getting the EVo soon, but my anticipation pretty much died off with these news :(
