Discontinued Indica Vaporizer

I hope it is "nonsense" too,but i can say that zippo is very aggresive with trademark protection. Similiar lighters have lawsuits against them. Goggle the appropriate search terms and you will see. Hope im wrong.are they selling any product anywhere at tradeshows etc ?. I dont think so ...

I have to agree with @rizzo that the shopping cart explanation is wearing thin. We're now going on 6 weeks and I have trouble believing it is simply a software issue.

Haven't even heard from @Indica Vaporizer now for 2 weeks, after he was "hoping" that the problem would be solved within a week. Time for another update?

i called them today and it seemed like it was a central call center for numerous online stores. they said it was available. they took my number and said someone would call me back. i'm not sure what to make of it. haven't heard back from them yet.

None of us are certain what to make of it.
Things happen, and life throws us curves.
We certainly see good intent, and a good product.
I will request of those that are of such belief, to join me in putting some hopeful and positive
energy on the wings of the wind...
Yes... corny uncle Vito is asking that a few of us concentrate our good thoughts on Mike's well being, that whatever the impedence to Indica's distribution be cleared.
It couldn't hurt.

I remember seeing a photo of the indica and zippo side by side and although i have no interest or knowledge I bet the similarity of same is a potential issue. Read the privacy/ legal page on zippos website. Zippo is an american icon If You showed a photo of their product to an adult in any culture I bet the majority of people would say Zippo
Hence the reason companies defend their image/likeness with such force.

If Indica could provide an update it would be interesting, and i could lay to rest my overactive mind perhaps.

It might not be an issue.
There are a few zippo clones (lighters that are a bit cheaper that look the same but do not say Zippo)for sale at my local tobacco shop, it may just be Zippo does not care as long as none say "ZIPPO".

I guess time will tell Vitolo , im all in with the grasshopper in any event. If the indica had a user replacable battery it would be more appealing. My take on zippos legalize is that they have a patent/trademark on the classic shape. Much like the Golden Arches of McDonalds or the coke font style writing on a coke can
.

I've seen cheap zippo knock offs in small mom 'n pop stores. Some have car or motorcycle brands imposed on them. Junk.

I had a hand warmer (cant find it) that was the same size as the Indica approx. and also had the Zippo look.
I spent days tearing house apart for this late 1950s item, to no avail.

Once again, I need to apologize for my absence on the forum. The shopping cart is now working properly (though not on line) and as of tomorrow evening you’ll find a new and much more educated professional customer service organization manning/womanizing the phones (800)-211-4420.

Yes , this this has been a longer journey than I had first envisioned with more hurtles than anticipated. First and foremost let me address the Indica itself. The few problems found by our limited testers of pre release product helped identify and improve upon the indca’s battery longevity and performance. Kudos to you unnamed individuals. The timing though awkward did preserve the company’s reputation as a quality producer.

Now as for the shopping cart integration, here’s the low down. In order to make amends for poor IT pre planning, those of you in the know realize I will eventually migrate to a Magento like system though it is a costly endeavor. In the mean time, totally transparent to all except maybe the web changes, we had to re generate the site but utilize the existing shopping cart and blend this, with a specific customer service program, that is more robust than most, to keep you the customer actively notified regarding orders and shipments. Additionally this system will work perfectly for allowing warrantee tracking and product QC issues and repairs. This is now all in place.

The final piece of the puzzle is the merchant bank approval for credit card processing since the implementation of these modifications. Though we originally planned to be online by February 1, as you all know, this day arrived and passed. We were previously approved but with date limitations. We are now under different directives that are more complicated than before with a nonconventional or standard gateway. My team feels we will have this resolved and audited by the Merchant account no later than the end of next week.

This is a lot of detail but you all are deserving of fact. As much as you may have been stressing this past month, I’ll tell you, I have carried this burden of responsibility heavily and wanting only to express positive answers. Yet these are the facts. We have plowed through obstacle after obstacle and feel we, my team of trusted advisors and IT experts, see the light ahead.

One again I apologize for the silence and prey that this is the last time for explanations. I hope the next post will be the announcement of the site being open for business.

Ha! I still have one of those kicking around somewhere too!

I'll join in on forwarding the 'positive energy' and am looking forward to hearing what folks think about this one.

There will be 2,500 units in Denver for direct sale at the trade shows events in about 2.5 weeks. Though I have been hesitant to announce an actual shopping cart opening on the web site, I will tell you we are extremely close. I have intentionally built inventory for the upcoming events in Denver which has waylaid the amount of merchandise determined adequate to sustain a status quo in the Californian warehouse. Let’s just say the portal will be fully operational by the 2nd week in April. This 2.5-month extension from February was not anticipated. As FC forum members, you have been the only individuals that have had visibility to the ongoing ups and downs of the manufacturing and customer service needs to make this company run seamlessly.

When my expectations have been high, you’re the first to know. If a problem causing a delay arises, you’re also the first to know as well. The timing and numbers above are stated with a high level of confidence. As such, I’m hoping all of you that have been part of this journey, can also rest assured that these are firm dates for the retail side of the business sector.

Rizzo, all sales, be it at shows or online, all intergrade to the same system for drawing inventory and the accounting processes. As you have implied, it would be in my best interest to start generating revenue, but to have product on the market with out the full downstream support, be it software integration or customer service, would put the credibility of the company at risk. I’m targeting Indica to be a long term presence in the industry with a strong position of consumer confidence. Take a moment to see how we have updated the website to assist consumers regarding use of the product. This is just the beginning. If you are content with the Indica in the first week of ownership, it’s likely, you will be a overall content believer in the quality, performance and service my company provides.

Within 2 weeks, this chapter will be over, and I hope to begin discussing the next generation of product amongst the beta team since this is only the beginning.

That is the pitfall to being right here in a forum with the actual manufacturers of these devices...
Members get to hear the thought process leading up to events...
...BUT... members also thereby build up anticipation.
In some, the anticipation becomes too great and members start emotionally pacing... waiting.
Being privy to the Manufacturers moves, means that the onlooker must apply EXTRA patience, to keep anticipation under control!

Thank you for the update sir. When the unit has a user replaceable battery I will be in. What is great is that the large flat surface would be perfect for a custom laser engraving to customize it. I already have a design planned for my buddy to engrave on it.

There will be three major events happening from the 16th to the 20th. "The Big Industry Show" from the 16th to the 18th at the Denver Mart Complex. This is primarily a B to B event but is open to the GP on the 18th. The High Times Cannabis Cup", April 19th and 20, same location. Finally "The 420 Rally" @ Civic Center Park. This event is free to the public and is expected to pack close to 100,000 people both on the 19th and 20th. Indica will be in and at all 3 locations throughout the week.

One inside heads up, we won't be difficult to miss within any of these events:)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I'd read this was going to be around the $160 range. The $199.97 price tag surprised me.
Am I mistaken or was a price change announced?
