Iso Purge

I have extracted bho many times, and would like to try an iso extract. My oil rig is clogged with oil, so I figured I'd use some 99% iso to extract and get some reclaim. Since I have the gear for bho, could I use a double boiler system to purge the iso extract? If so, what temp would be good?

ISO evaporates at nearly body temp. If you use too much heat and begin to create vapor you will lose potency and flavor. IMO you can purge the ISO at room temperature if you are patient. You will want to evaporate it in a large pyrex to spread thin. A fan or other good circulation is a must. I have done this with reclaim and it works well.

Same purge method, keep the heat below 120F (110F is my preference). Same safety precautions regarding fumes is required.

As mentioned above, room temp with a fan is adequate and preserves minor flavor loss (volatile terps), (but not so much so potency if kept within the temps I mention), 'if you have the patience' ;)

I started doing ISO at first then switch to BHO and VACUUM PURGE.
To make ISO descent I use a large PUREX dish and a fan. After 3 to 5 days I have wax.

BHO after purge the next day or 2 it's ready to medicate. Plus I think I achieve a better flavor profile with BHO. If your worried about the health factor then vacuum purge!
butane is relatively non polar, it doesn’t extract the water solubles like chlorophyll and plant alkaloids. Butane produces one of the cleanest extractions, albeit typically at a lower yield than polar alcohol.

You may have read this already?

This is what I made:

You can buy it already made and don't need to DIY like me.

This is my latest up grade. (VACUUM CHAMBER)

I'll probably end up using about a shot glass worth of ISO, if that. Also I'll evaporate outside. It will be 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Any estimate how long this would take?

Do not put in sunlight, that will degrade the actives. How long depends on a lot of factors...humidity, amount, temp, etc. Don't put in a shot glass, pour into something where the liquid will be a very thin level in a larger open container for fastest evaporation. A fan gently blowing can help. I put a screen cover meant to cover frying pans over a pie plate and put in a cabinet since I'm not in a hurry but I do more than a shot's worth. I would expect a shot would evaporate overnight most likely.

That quantities of ISO should evap quickly... under an hour at the temp you mention, you'll just have to keep an eye on it.

At a mild boil in a dbl boiler for an once of bud qwiso'd (never measured the amount of ISO used beyond eyeballing a level just over the saturated goods in the jar), takes approx 20-25 minutes to purge out yet remain just pliable enough to scrape up and transfer to vac purge. If I let it purge dry and cool, 'I' find it too much of a bitch to scrape up with a blade (just don't persoanlly have the mindset for that), or too long and it shatters all over the place. ** I realize your running reclaim this time & my reference is referring to my 20-30 sec max hand broke up bud swish.

I will be doing this in the evening so the sun will be setting/ down when evaporating. Also, do I need 99%, or is 91% fine?

I dont understand how people are saying to vac purge butane which has a colder evaporation that iso. But just to let iso pure with a fan. Im just curious, the only difference I see is there polarity.

When I ISO out my glass and other goodies, I use the larger slick sheet from BB&B shape pressed into a large plastic popcorn bowl and pour in all the ISO and just wait, that way I dont have to scrape anything since it all pops off of the slick sheet with ease.

So I want ahead and did it, but with 91% iso. Let it air dry over night and found some cloudy liquid in the glass dish. I figured it was probably the water from the iso, since it wasn't that high of a percentage. But it still smells like alcohol. Should I put it on a hot plate for a little? Or can I cook with it?

But it still smells like alcohol.
That is why I switch to BHO.
My concentrate taste better now.
I never tried to heat iso concentrate?

If you try it don't go higher than 120f!
Start at 105 - 110f and see if that works?

I PURGE BHO SHATTER with a combination of HEAT & VACUUM.

I always make bho, but this is reclaim. And since I'm low on oil right now, I'd like to make the best of this ISO reclaim oil. What is the easiest way to use the oil? Dab? Edible?

Sorry!
I throw my re-claim on the floor.
If you learn how to make it not taste bad please let me know?
I'll start saving it!

I don't care about taste when I'm low on oil. I have 1 nice dab left and this reclaim. I leave for a trip Friday morning. If I take all this reclaim and mix it into a chocolate bar and it gets me medicated, that's great! I wanna know if this will work. If I make use of the reclaim, I will be medicated until Friday fine.

Actually, I might just put some melted butter in some peanut butter, then add the reclaim, and then put it on a cracker.

I just mixed the reclaim with chocolate. Saving it for tomorrow morning. I put the oil in a olive oil glass dish and 4 Hershey dark chocolate kisses in the microwave for 10 seconds. Mixed, then reheated for 28 seconds. After mixing, I put it in some tin foil and into the freezer.

Since it's reclaim, it's activated right? And did microwaving it hurt it or help? I tasted some of it, and I don't taste iso, but I get this kinda bad taste. I think it's just the reclaim taste.

I am going to buy a vac chamber similar to yours. I saw the label in one of your photos and found their website. There is a poll on Massdrop. It needs 200 votes to escalate to the next level.

I always use a little bit of heat. Its usually a small space heater and then a regular fan on it even closer never letting my temps break 105, just so it doesnt jump up fast with out me knowing. With the regular fan it actually stays a constant steady temp, surprised me. I don't add heat till most my the alcohol has evaped which doesnt take me long I use a giant Pyrex I'm betting its 16×10 is what it looks like.

Well I just used a flat Pyrex dish,

reclaimed my bubbler any my mighty cu.

Got about 2g's or reclaim. It's sticky but you can touch it without it adhering to your fingers intantly.

I took a small dab, didn't taste any alcohol...

Is this reasonably safe to use? I know with butane you can tell if it crackles and pops ir sets fire, there is still butane in higher amounts present.

Is there a similar test for iso reclaim?

Or does the absence of the alcohol taste indicate the absence?

I guess I don't know a test I just purge then cover and let sit out longer. I use qwet not qwiso. Iso has isobutyl acetone in it and believe it leaves traces in extracts.
