There have been some EVO's that needed adjusting. So you might want to just ask them. How long were you letting your unit what up? Were you hitting right away from cold or allowing it to saturate with heat first? Oh and you didn't overwhelm the heater that is the auto shutoff happens after one hour.
Believe it or not it was not the auto shutoff it goes back to solid green after the hit without resetting it.

I am also giving it plenty of time to heat up at least 15-20min or longer.

I had a + and a og ticker so I know alittle bit about clouds. For anyone who has both models would you say the evo has a higher rate of extraction & effiency over its predecessor ?
So, I'm answering you, I have a Cloud + and an EVO. The EVO darkens and can combust weed. My Cloud + never do it to me. Make your own conclusions. Or just buy it, try it, and if you don't like sell it. IMO all of them do the job. But "my EVO" extracts more, if you call almost combusting really dark even black chocolate ABV.
And your "so I know "alittle" bit about clouds" , sounded "a" little bit of a ... you know what to me. I was trying to help you and you came with an smart ass answer.
I hope my answer helps you now.
Good luck and stay vaped...

In no way was I trying to be a smartass.i do know about the cloud but not the evo which is why I asked that question. Even though they are similar it is not the same beast. your answer did help me so thanks :)

I have an EVO and a cloud OG ticker. My EVO broke and is in for repair and also my OG ticker broke all within 2 days of each other :( My friend let me borrow his OG ticker so I have been on it for a week now and I can say that there is no difference in extraction from what I can tell.

EVO pros (compared to OG ticker)
1. Fast heatup
2. Lighter
3. Removable cord
4. Brighter LED to see that it is on
5. Wider range of heat temperature. My EVO seems to be really cool at 9 o'clock and very hot at the highest setting

EVO cons
1. The plastic gets way hotter than the ticker ever did
2. No audible ticking. I grew to love that.

EVO / OG tie
1. Extraction is the same as far as I can tell
2. Heat output at the high end is the same in my case but the OG ticker has a slight advantage in max heat output. I think individual units vary quite a bit and the EVO should get hotter at the high end than what my unit does but if it gets any hotter then the plastic might become unbearable to hold even with the wrist bands.

On a different side note on Hydrastands I started using that sticky tack material and it works perfectly. I can now use the super slim hydrastand I got with my EB purchase because it keeps the hydrastand firmly to the table and it creates a cool blue color under it that is pleasant to look at.

I'll admit I was a bit dissatisfied my first couple of goes with the Evo. It took a couple of trips back to the VapeX lab and the second time was the charm. My Evo is running nice and hot and I am getting an excellent, thorough extraction. I really just want to thank the awesome people at VapeXhale for making the Evo "right" for me. Not only did one of the employees tell me to write a note so that it ended up in his hands first so he could personally look at it, they also sent me a prepaid shipping label so I didn't have to incur any extra fees to have my Evo looked at. I feel like a lot of the time it really is the negative people who are more vocal so I wanted to update my situation that is now very positive. I wanted this to end well and am glad I have reached a peaceful resolution. I love my new Evo. Thank you VapeXhale!

I decided to try a concentrate dab with my newly recalibrated Evo. Before the hits were too wispy, even at max on a fully heated unit. I'm having much more success now and I was thoroughly satisfied with the extraction and amount of hits I received from a tiny dab of some lesser oil. Apologies for the poor camera-work, I was very medicated from a previous dab attempt that worked so well I felt I had to record it. Got another milky hit and a light hit to finish the dab off camera. I can't wait for the concentrate adapter... but for now I'm having good success with just an ELB!

@Zangano Cruel has some serious lungs... Cloud Evo w/ ticker assist...
:peace:
First time with a Devastator. Very nice and practical piece of well made glass. Sturdy and pretty stable even with all the glass on top and vapes.
Seriously smooth and heavy hitter that combo. Very good night with very cool people from FC. Thanks a lot.
Stay vaped...

Oi oi! Alright people, just got my evo over here in Scotland and I have to say that I really am delighted. Its 9am and I've just caned 3 ELBs in about 15 minutes and am pretty seriously done, although I fully intend to keep going (got the day off :D). It's been quite a ride, pre-ordered the original cloud but never ended up getting one for numerous reasons.
Feels crazy to actually have one after talking about it for so long.

This thing seems like a serious step up from my DBV, and is much more fun to hit. What has impressed me the most is that I put in a blend that had a lot of moroccan style hash mixed in with the weed, typically such a blend becomes one solid block which doesn't allow for much airflow but the evo just ploughed right through it and I got a serious amount of thick hits from it.

I've been running it on max and I'm not finding the unit gets too hot to touch, though it does get fairly hot. I don't think mine is running cold or if it is I don't really care cus it is putting out the vapor!
Back to the vape.

Almost there...
I just got my Evo but I'm not sure it is working properly. If I try to use a small amount in the elb I can't get dark abv, even at max temp. Half an elb at max temp the avb is a darker brown but it takes a few hits(3-5) and they are somewhat wispier than I would have expected. This is my first Cloud so still learning but I've seen a few posts where people say they combusted at 3 I can't even come close to combustion even at max setting. Also a couple of times I've overwhelmed the heater and got the red light to start blinking.

It's definitely still medicating me quite well but for the money I would like it to work perfectly. So do you guys think I need to open a ticket or am I just expecting to much from the Evo?

I think mine was the same as yours in the beginning.
It works really well but it just lacks that extra punch to the face.
You can get decent vapor but the ABV stays a light golden color?

I let my original unit warm up at MAX for 40 minutes before hitting it and the result was golden ABV. If yours does this, it needs to be sent in.

I sent mine in for a recalibration and it works perfectly now!
Nice ark ABV consistently.

I would send it in if i was you.

I'm sure you already tried, but give it a couple full cycles heat soak up.
Depending on your meds, or weather wise, sometimes 15-20 minutes aren't enough for a total powerful extraction.
If after a couple back to back auto-shut offs (keep an eye on it, back to back means back to back :) no rest)
your ABV isn't dark chocolate brown after some big clouds.... then you'll need to send unit to recalibrate...
Stay vaped...

great video:clap: i love the perplexed look you give the piece at the end. I agree though that is a massive dab and a miniscule cloud. I had to rewatch in order to even notice the exhale. You are a much braver man than I, I dont even walk away from my piece when it has my solo in it for fear of it falling over. Im currently T-breaking so watching milk vids is as good as it gets for me!

Vapes on vapes on vapes!
I have gone back and forth on sending my in for calibration so many times. It just acts very inconsistently. I can't really get much/any visible vapor below 2:00 on the dial. I usually have to have it on 3:00 to get some pretty thick hits and then max to get hits like I did with my Cloud. Sometimes it works great, sometimes not so much. I have yet to combust and I use it on max all of the time. My ABV is very inconsistent even with allowing it to heat soak. I have experimented with grind, moisture content, strain, heat soaking time, etc. and have been able to get good results, just very inconsistent.

I would hate to send it in if I didn't have to, but it seems like some people with similar issues have seen results after sending it in. I'm going to wait off until I am unhappy with the way it is performing. This happened at one point in time and I was about to send it in. Just before I was going to ship it all of a sudden it was working better again. I have never had any/much luck using it below 2:00 on the dial. Any advice or input would be appreciated. I just sold my Cloud to my buddy because I'm a little low on money so if I shipped it I'd have to go back to the Vap 2.0. Not a bad thing I'd just need to clean it out.

Send it in. I just sent mine in for almost the same symptoms after being on the fence about it. Fortunately I still have my OG Cloud which confirms that sending the EVO in for a tune up was a good idea because the Cloud behaves like I expected and as it should. Tracking shows it was delivered to them today so hopefully by the end of next week I'll have it back and be able to compare.

With my concentrates it's getting them completely gone but it isn't that big of a cloud?

This should have been a lung busting dab?

Question: the inside of the cap may look completely clean, but was it difficult detaching the cap from the ELB? Was it sticky? If so that means you only partially vaporized the dab & the rest of the oil seeped into the crevices of the ELB.

Also, I was having that issue when i was using a big round "ball" dab in the ELB.
Instead, I would use about 1/2 that & squish the ball evenly across the underside of the cap.

Something odd going on there man.
I do smaller dabs in my Cloud+ at 3pm and the clouds are huge.
Maybe time for a service?

How does it handle flowers? Still getting dark ABV?

No residue and no stick. Seemed to have taken it all? I even checked the piece to make sure none dripped

@VapeNStone - thanks for that video! I went to Palliative Care, a dispensary in San Jose that has a vapor lounge and I sat down with one of the concentrates/shatter vendors and we had a long discussion about low temp oil vaping. He did NOT like the lungbusters and would only heat his ceramic nail to roughly 450 and had similar looking vapor to yours in your video. When we cranked up the heat and used the concentrates attachment, he made a face about how opaque the vapor was when I thought he was going to be super impressed.

The net/net of it was that I believe that in a few years, there will be a new philosophy on dabbing. Just like vaping with flowers has changed throughout the years, I believe that will happen in the concentrates area. Everyone wants to see the whitewall, but is the whitewall the most effective way? More testing to be done!

Good post. These words echo my experience with the Evo when I first got it and even after I sent it back to VapeXhale. After the second time I sent my Evo in it's now working very well. No more golden ABV at max and able to use much more of the dial.

Yeah that's a nice sized dab for the Evo. I wasn't even using that much when doing a few test runs. I would suggest spreading the dab out on the cap as much as you can without getting it on the sides. If it's too much, take some out. Just try to spread it around with your dabber or whatever tool like peanut butter on a piece of bread. I also would suggest letting it warm up, but it seems you did a pretty good job of that. Maybe try a few seconds longer? And finally, try a slower inhale. This may or may not make a difference but it's worth a try. I've had combustion from drawing too slow (obviously herb), so that's something to consider.

Sounds like my Evo was acting at first. If you feel like you miss your Cloud and the results you were getting I'd send it in. I went back and forth between the Evo and Cloud and even pondered getting rid of the Evo because I just simply felt the Cloud performed better. All of this changed once I sent the Evo back for a "recalibration" for a second time and my Cloud is now for sale in the classifieds.

See now this is kind of what I was thinking. I am getting my nail too hot and the EVO is giving me a true vaporized oil hit! Because I felt high off of it? I just think I need the concentrate adapter so I can do even bigger dabs!!!

Well, I have unfortunate news, we were toking with the evo realistically for about 10 hours. It probably went through 4 complete hot cold cycles. I could hear it crackling as it cooled down but didn't think much of it. However after the last use I took out the ELB and inverted it and a small shard of really hot glass fell out, I'm now hesitant to keep using it, I can't see anything wrong with the bamboo but I'm hoping it doesn't need sent back. . . This has been quite a tease.
I've contacted support am waiting on a response.
