Ah... "glass flower enclosure" sounds like an enclosure for glass flowers. Hence the confusion. What was meant here seems to be "an enclosure that is a substitute for glass flowers".

It is a rotary tool. You would need, as discussed previously in this thread, a special bit for glass to reduce the chance of breaking it.

Smaller load. Easier on-the-go loading. Easier cleaning.
I guess I could pull out the calipers and do the maths, but off of the top of my head it looks like a pretty reasonable amount to reduce the bowl by.
Also, I will note he left the lid on the can. That's got to restrict airflow quite a bit, pull the air out of the side holes. Perhaps better penetration of product by heated air?
Other than that, I'm with you on this. I'm not sure why @mvapes was having so much issue with poor production of a full bowl. I'm not sure anyone (outside of defects) has complained about production from a full bowl... just how much product one has to use to fill it.

Just a small thing I found out 30 seconds ago. Tip a Jyarz over on its side and its the perfect height to use as a stand. I imagine a lot of you guys may be using multiple jyarz in your set of gear, its a nice little unintended perk.
Unrelated, but does anyone have a nice small hard case thats used to store the ascent, grinder, couple jyarz and maybe some spare glass tubes and cans? I'm thinking of getting a pelican case but don't really know which one to pick up.

Is there any optimal position in which to hold the Ascent as you pull on it? As in, is it best to hold it right side up vertically with the oven down, or does it not matter? It seems to me as if after a hit or two, the ground up herb in the oven gets tossed up and fluffed, and I get much less cloud volume. If I tamp or pack it back down, it seems to pick back up. I feel like holding it upside down or something would promote the tossing and loosening of the herb in the oven.
I've actually been trying it with the glass flowers after seeing lots of mention of them in this thread! However, maybe I'm just not tamping it down hard enough, or just not filling it enough. Should I pack it down hard enough so that the herb actually sticks together like a "puck?" I've just been tamping it down a bit with the included metal tool. Thanks for the help

I put in the glass flowers then herb and I pack it down with a thin layer of cotton on top. I start out at anywhere from 385 on up, depending on the herb. I usually go up to 405 or 408 by the end of my 12 min session. I can produce large clouds with very excellent vapor taste. If it's too harsh I go down in temp. I want that great vapor flavor.
I have ordered the wooden stem by Ed and am really excited to try it out. Should be getting it in a week or so.
I looked on my unit in the chamber area where it opens up and couldn't find any numbers. I bought mine in October.

Ya I usually pack it down pretty good. And put in enough glass flowers to fill the bowl. I usually put 2 on bottom then some herb 2 more flowers some more herb then 3 more flowers on top poking down to keep everything down.
Also very interested in seeing how well those wooden stems perform.
nice.. if I'm able to find a bit that small i will deff do that... do you think you can still you that glass as an oil can still. also do you find when you cover the oil can with the rubber does it restrict air flow?

Still loving my Ascent! Question, I just purchased a 14mm GONG adapter for the Ascent to use with a PNWT (just bought a knockoff PNWT off DH Gate), but I also purchased a D020 knockoff from the site (since everyone is ranting about it).
Question - if the D020 is an 18.8mm joint, how would I connect my Ascent using the 14mm GONG? I really don't want to spend another $30 from Davinci for the 18mm GONG
Can I use one of those 18mm male to 14mm female adapters from ebay?

Has anyone noticed when attaching it to a water pipe that the vapor is thinner?
How many hits do you guys usually take on a full packed bowl till you empty?

The vapor thins out because when it fills the bong there's more air in the mix, and the more you draw on it the faster the temp will go down, so probably won't have a lot of luck filling a larger piece.
Haven't really counted how many hits. Probably upwards of 20, tho I have never actually fully loaded the bowl yet. Gonna have to experiment.
Usually I will load around .14-.18g sprinkled with some Kief and that can do me for an hour or 2.

New to these forums after I lost my Solo and confused between the Ascent and Pinnacle Pro. So I did whatever research I could between the two and found that Ascent had better taste, better build and better battery compared to the Pinnacle, but the Pinnacle was more portable and slightly cheaper, not to mention that Water Tool attachment. The thing that tipped the scales in the favour of Pinnacle Pro for me was the bowl size of Ascent.
Now after purchasing the Pinnacle, I'm not too happy about the battery and slight build quality issues to do with plastic being used. So I'm wondering if the big bowl size issue of Ascent has been solved yet? I have an offer for my Pinnacle Pro from a combusting friend(converted one
) and have won an auction on ebay for an Ascent for a good price.
Now I need your knowledged opinion and help if I may to decide whether to sell the Pinnacle and get the Ascent. I'm getting very high off the Pinnacle Pro, much more than the Solo(according to my friends too who didn't like the Solo). My only concern is battery and build. Ascent looks the par and has better battery life. So has anyone tried the Pinnacle Pro and Ascent? Is there an easy solution for reducing the size of the bowl as I only want to use the amount I used in the bullet(0.2ish). Also, how are the results? I'm willing to ignore thin clouds as long as it gets me there but thick dense clouds are always a bonus.
The person selling on ebay is in the UK who has a Stealth Black Ascent which he claims he bought from Da Vinci. From the pictures, I think the model number is 1AA1, from the research I've done, that is the first batch and had issues? What would be the warranty procedure if I bought it from him?
Sorry about the long post guys but I have the friend wanting to pick up the Pinnacle Pro tomorrow so I need to arrange myself a replacement asap. I just want a daily driver vape that is portable but also designed as such that isn't reminiscent of a smoking tool. The Ascent fits that criteria. I just want to make sure those plastic smells issues and bowl size issues have been resolved before I make the change.

I only discovered the Pinnacle Pro AFTER having purchased my Ascent, so I don't know much about it, or how it compares to the Ascent. Also note that you CAN use a water tool with the Ascent with the use of a 14mm GONG adapter from Davinci - my adapter arrives today, and my water tool (and D020) will be here next week - can't wait to try vaping with them!!
Regarding the bowl size on the Ascent - I have no problems with it. If you want to do "Micro Loads" - you have 2 options. The easiest if you only want 0.1G is to put the herb in first, then use the included glass 'oil can' on top to hold the herb down. If you want to put more herb in, we use glass daisy flowers ("glass screens", "Glass Flowers", etc). You can buy a 50 Pack for around $8 on ebay. I always use between 6 and 8 flowers in my bowl depending on how much Herb I want to use.
I believe the 1AA1 model was used for 2 batches - the first batch with major problems, and the second batch which I have. I believe you can tell the difference by looking for a latch on the side of the unit. If there's a little latch/nub on the side of the unit where the bottom half swivels closed, it's the revised 1AA1 model. You shouldn't have any problems, but if you do, I'm sure you can call DV and complain, they might still honor the warranty.....
The Ascent is a great vape, I love mine. I've been using it for several weeks as my daily driver as this is my only vape currently, I get a full day of use on a single charge (charge at night, average 5-7 sessions a day).
I'd personally say wait and see how your Ascent performs before giving up your Pinnacle
