Help with rationing

Yes! The Lotus essentially cured my VAS. The Firefly is the only vape (over $35--looking at you, Gn0me!) that I've purchased since buying the Lotus. And the reason I bought the Firefly is because I need a battery-powered portable for certain situations (like being a passenger in a car), and it promised an experience more similar to the Lotus than any of the other portables I'd tried. :)

I liked the idea of having a flame-based vape prior to buying the Lotus, and picked up a VG. Nice vape, but it was never going to become a daily driver. That sort of made me think that a flame-based vape could never be my daily driver. I thought the Lotus looked neat, but weird, and I doubted highly that it was really what I wanted.

I've tried thirteen different flower vaporizers, eleven of them portable, and the Lotus is my all-around winner. And I would NEVER have anticipated that outcome in a million years. I am making these comments mostly for the benefit of lurkers who are wondering what vape to buy...I know the Lotus looks kinda weird, and maybe a little scary, and possibly more manual than you were wanting, but trust me...it deserves SERIOUS consideration by anyone looking for a heavy-hitting vape that works just as well with an aluminum stem as a dry glass j-hook as any style water pipe you might want to pair it with. At a fraction of the cost of most other vapes, it's an incredible value.

It also preserves a lot of the ritual associated with combusting, for my fellow ex-smokers. :) I didn't realize how much I missed that ritual until the Lotus brought it back into my life...

Anyway, I'll stop drooling over the Lotus now. And start clock-watching while I anticipate the moment I can go home and hit mine (with the D020 from the Cheap, high quality bubblers thread...a match made in heaven!)
OK you guys totally sold me on the lotus. And its style is so my speed -- it looks like it could've been bought on the grateful dead lot. In the best way. I'm skeptical about torch-based but you guys are very persuasive so I'm giving it a shot. Now I've just gotta get some butane before it gets here. I'm guessing they have that at smoke shops. Anyway, thanks for the input - can't wait to try it out!

Team NO SLEEP!
I have not found Lotus at my local shops, but got mine direct. There is a learning curve, but it gives huge clean pulls.

It is kinda silly and easy to make one's own, but the $5 scoop is worth it IMO. Perfect amount every time, and fits in a 4 piece grinder. Jump into the Lotus thread on here, it answered a ton of my questions... I ended up getting the Lotus over the FF after learning a bit about it. (and will likely still get a FF down the road;))

What's your setup with the Lotus? It appears to be quite versatile.

hoptimum,
Yeah I would move on from the Pax if I was you. If it is one vape in an arsenal of several I think it is good. However, if it is your only unit it probably will not satisfy you. If you want to conserve a Solo will do a much better job imo while delivering bigger, better and tastier hits. The positives of the Pax for me are it is small, looks stylish and offers stealth. The need to clean it so often to keep it functioning is just too much of a downer for me to use it regularly. Mine is strictly reserved for the occasions when I really need portable stealth which is not often. How much are you using per load? around .25 should easily be enough and keep you going for a while.

I use the Lotus in many different ways. Out of the house, I use it with the aluminum stem. Inside I usually use it through glass via the WPA. Just today I used it with a glass J-hook and then later with this piece:

I've also done this:

This is what I would consider my "daily driver" setup though:

That's the ~$30 D020 bubbler from DHGate: http://www.dhgate.com/product/d020-...e-perc-water/175832535.html#s1-1-1|4069991014 A match made in heaven!

On the Stoop
Out of all the vapes i own, i use the least amount of weed to get high with the Lotus, second best herb conservation is with my Solo. I have a Pax and it's a weed sinkhole, but it's great for vaping on the streets of the city
