I have been using the adapter with an ELB in the elbow. It last a long time but I can't get the ABV as brown as an elbow pack with the cyclone. Dave I will try the elbow pack in the wand trick. I don't have a large enough screen in my adapter. Will it hurt anything if some small stuff gets past the screen? I have a one inch screen and it fits but wiggles around. The new adapter I ordered is a different shape than I have seen before. It works the same though.

How much herb are you loading into the ELB? Most Cloud users seem to use ~.1-1.5g ground fuffy but not too fine, which is usually ~1/3 full.

Also, you may need the temp to be higher with the ELB because the airflow must pass through the mesh first while with an elbow-pack the airflow hits the herb first.

Hey guys just ordered my q from aroma-tek! I was just wondering a couple things.

1. Is it ready to go right out of the box? Any tests I should run?

2. What temperature range does everyone agree works the best?

3. How well does this work with concentrates?

Suggesting another variation on the DDave Mod! Elbow pack the elbow screen used in the SSV Wand. I've done this (being too lazy to put the Arizer Elbow back on the Whip to elbow pack hit) and found it hits even stronger in my configuration than if I had swapped back to the Arizer elbow.
Hits were amazing! I believe in my configuration, the wand allows the elbow screen (packed) to be closer to the heater than the stock Arizer elbow.

I had pretty uneven AVB when I elbow packed my SSV wand. How was yours?

No, the product that manages to slip by the middle screen will land on the heater screen. When I had that with mine from using the original cyclone bowl, I just turned the unit upside down and hit the heater lightly with compressed air. Now, however, with a tight/fine screen I find nothing slips by.

1. Do a burnoff to remove manufacturing residue. Highest heat setting for approx 15 minutes (no fan). Then follow by a couple minutes of fan on high.

2) have always heard the magic number for cannibas was 392F. For me, I low temp vape in the daytime (170-175C), then save the partially extracted herbs for evening. then when it's time to call it a night, I revape the herbs from the daytime sessions higher temp (200-230C, dependent on strain), and really get knocked out.

3. I only got it to work with really clean Wax. Still a bit messy. Any other concentrate-only was messy and difficult to process. I've heard, however, that a little concentrate mixed with flowers works out well.

Welcome & check my signature for some Modding ideas...

Only did it once as an experiment, since so many had wanted even better performance from the SSV Wand/Adapter setup... and it performed really well for me.... but got "blasted" and didn't even look at the ABV, just tossed in a jar.

I will give it another Go tonight and report back.... In the name of Science!! :science:

When I was using the SSV wand I was getting coffee grounds! My favorite thing about the wand is that after it gets oiled up it gives back. I gently empty the loose ABV then I scrape so gently the edges of the screen. The ABV looks wet almost, not muddy but sticky kind of. I return the Q screen and vape a few nice clouds for free...:brow: I just think it is a little awkward and I am into the whole vaperbong thing with my D020. I have an awesome mouthpiece and enjoy the wand. I will go back to in time. Only one toy in my hand at a time....:smug:

Big question...Do you have the DDave adapter or are you using the cyclone bowl? I think for the wand you need the adapter.

I am not sure why my ABV is not getting the same way in my ELB. I am not sure it will. It vapes, don't get me wrong, just not getting all brown. Much lighter than coffee grounds.

Since the load is further from the heater, you will need to compensate by turning the heat up. Crank it to max and see how that works. :2c:

+1

The SSV Wand doesn't perform very well with the stock Cyclone bowl.

Don't worry about the kink, it's usually on the floor when I am hitting it.

I chipped my elbow and need some replacements. This was a SSV blue 18mm but man I paid 16 bucks for it. Is there an option out there for less? I know the Q replacement is cheaper but it is cheaper made. I guess I get what I pay for. So next medicated thought. I am using a lesser grade med. It doesn't grind up as small. Will it vape better if I throw it in the electric grinder? I have a coffee grinder that I use to use somewhere for green.

Hey guys. Just got my q from aroma tek and I'm not too happy. The bag loads extremely slow and is hard to pull from. Is there any way to get the bag to fill/pull faster? Thinking about returning it.

You can pump up the speed of the fan, there are 3 speeds.

Play around with it. Don't get discouraged, sometimes it takes a little practice.

That doesn't make sense, my best guess is the bag isn't on the glass right, I would take it off and remake it. Twist the bag together at the open end so you can feed it through the rubber o-ring and pull out about a inch maybe a little more. After its through try and spread it out evenly and make sure there are no folds(most likely causing the hard pull), might be easier to do once you slip it on the glass. It can be a pain at first, imo, putting together a bag is one of the hardest things to do out of the box. The other is to get that screen to sit right in the cyclone, but after that it's smooth sailing, hope this helps.
I wish they would make some improvements in those two areas, then it would be perfect.(hint, hint Arizer:D)

Grinding too fine can result in the elbow screen getting easily clogged. IME light and fluffy works best if you've got the grinder for it.

I've never had an Arizer elbow break. Anyway, $9 incl screen w/free shipping from puffitup.com (they also sell on eBay). You might also check the FC recommended retailers w/FC discounts.

Guys I need some help.

I decided one day to try out the potpurri bowl for diffusing oils etc.

I poored a few drops of oil in that bowl without cotton balls just straight into the bowl . Now my machine (actual heating element )stinks like the Scented lavender vanilla oil that i put in my bowl for buring So when i vape it tastes really gross.

ran it on 250 with fan on 3 to try and get it to dry out or something but still stinks.
Any suggestions on what to do?

I did this exact same thing. Time is your only friend here. It might take a few days before you can use it (depends on how offensive the smell is to you) but it will eventually fade away to nothing over time. Putting it in someplace where it gets lots of airflow will help. You might want to place it in front of a fan for a few days. Good luck!

This is my favourite way to use the Ex Q. Glass all the way and a direct vapor path .

The basket screen fits onto any 19mm male joint, so I found this angled adapter by Black Leaf that works awesomely with a downstem. I pack the basket screen , I never bothered with the Cyclone bowl. I want to replace that ....

Best flavour, efficiency and ripping hits! I prefer this to putting the vapour through a bong. No more gunked-up elbow joint.

Does anyone know anywhere that sells a suitable 19mm female-female adapter to replace the cyclone bowl? It needs to have a groove inside, for the steel screen to go in. . .

Someone posted this here but I can't find it.

Check DDAve's mod link in his signature above. The 19mm F/F is a major part of the mod, and think he has a source or two listed on ebay.

I know with a lot of vapes you have to wait like 20-30 seconds after each hit for the herb to heat up again is that do you have to do that with extreme q?

Also can you hit it quickly or is it like a lot of vapes where you have to do slow draws?

From my experience the herb never required any downtime. I typically used my EQ between 200 & 220 C°. I'm not sure if it would be any different with lower temps but my guess is that the time it takes to pull the vapor into your lungs, possibly hold it in and exhale would be plenty of time.

The EQ vapes your herb by passing hot air over them; the heat comes from a ceramic heater on the inside body and the air comes from the intake at the bottom. The heating element inside stays consistently heated, from my experience, so this is another reason why I don't think downtime is necessary.

As for strength & speed of draw, hard and fast draws give less time for the air to be heated, resulting in less heat and therefore lower temp vapes. Vice versa for slow draws. I find I pull fairly hard to get good clouds out of the EQ, keeping in mind I use it between 200 & 220 C°. All in all, how hard you hit it is really up to you, seeing as you can adjust the temperature accordingly.
