The Lotus Vaporizer

So the other day I was emptying out a bowl, and my stir stick popped out. The stir stick is one of my favorite things about my Lotus! I can stick it back in, but it's constantly falling out now.

Any tips for getting it to stay? I was a bit nervous about using glue or anything along those lines.
It looks like an epoxy that holds the stir stick into my lotus, I don't think you need to worry too much about it. Just ensure you find a food/medical grade epoxy that is resistant to high temperatures.

I know of one epoxy, hxtal which fits the bill (also great for repairing cracked/broken glass dries crystal clear and matches angle of refraction of glass surface for seemless, invisible fix). However, this stuff is pricey, and I'm sure you could find cheaper stuff to do the job :)

Loving my Lotus, I use it through a 2 chamber honeycomb to 10 arm tree mini-bubbler for slow hits (more like how I would enjoy a doobie) and through my Luke Wilson 15 arm for big one or two hit bowls :D

I couldn't see myself using anything but this and the E-Nano now, I just need to develop some kind of discreet way to heat the vapor cap without a lighter and this will be travelling with me everywhere! I am thinking of seeing if the cap can be connected to my budbomb titanium pipe too, which would lead to awesome compact on the go vapor cooling! I will of course post updates on how this goes when I attempt it!

Glass blower's configuration??
Lol!!! @Max Jitter I believe people are understanding your 10mm WPA to refer to the diameter of the male MonG (metal on glass) connection at the bottom of the WPA. No glass has this diameter of female GonG connection that I know of, and thus the confusion.

I take it however that the 10mm refers to the height of the WPA, it is a lower profile WPA? Or are you for some reason actually making a 10mm male MonG adapter?

Glass blower's configuration??
Sorry there is a disconnect here!
My point of view is not good for your bottom line!
What I like is not going to make anyone rich!
I get it.
I'm a medical marijuana patient not a recreational user like I was when I was young. I found a new use for cannabis one of the creator's finest flowers.

The LOTUS took me some time to learn how to use and I hurt some large ego' s along the way. I did finally learn how to use it and enjoy it.

My lighter' s were perfectly adjusted for my wax pens.
For the LOTUS this was holding me back from succeeding.
I ordered a special lighter that I will dedicate for use with my LOTUS.
I burnt the wood so it looks ghetto now but still functions.

Now getting back to glass. I find the best set up for me is to use a SHERLOCK (J HOOK). Ash collector's & bubbler's are nice as well. Big mouth pieced bongs l can't use.
Some like it? Even in my youth when I was a surf hippie I could not use a bong!

$10 for a Oscar is all cannabis cost and a pack of Zig-Zags is all that was required.
We threw the joint on the ground after the flavor diminished. Now days is cost so much money you can't afford to be as wasteful!!

I wish I had a LOTUS back in the Day. Very practical.

I'm at a different place in my life right now where practical means more to me.
If you decide to market a 10mm glass fitting so be it.
For some they may want it?
I wouldn't want more stuff.
I have cases full of glass.
To have one more size to deal with is too much for me personally.

Please you know what's right for you.
If you fill a need cool.
It seems like a slippery slope to me!

I don't see the interest in 10mm WPAs as i don't see interest in female WPAs. Of course options are good but too many options are never good for a manufacturer.

An 18mm WPA would be interesting for some, but since a 14-18mm adapter is so convenient i really don't see the point either.

Stick to the 14mm Max. It is the best option. And for the ones who want to, it allows for the most modding and adaptation with least effort considering the adapters that can be added.

I think different woods and a ceramic cap would be a more interesting business move than to make a different diameter WPA. With that said, the Lotus is perfect as it is IMO.

My only gripe with it are the small bits that get into the cap. I would like if i could keep an unfinished bowl in the lotus and put it in my pocket without worrying about getting bits all over the cap. But clearly, this is a minor situation and not what i would actualy call an issue.

I'd like to add that i'm mid-session with my favorite combo: Dry Ehle + Lotus, life is good and the sun is shining. :)

I thought the same; there is no real good way to transport a loaded bowl for the road...
....or is there? :hmm:

After reading your post, looking at my Honest, then back at the bowl, it all came to me.

I have been keeping/transporting clean screens inside the protective cap of the Honest lighter that shipped with my unit. I keep 3-4 clean screens in there, tape it shut, and it travels light in the Lotus carry pouch; I almost forgot about it.

(I think most can already guess where I am taking this, but I would bet many of you quit reading and already went searching for your torch caps:smug:)

As you might have guessed, it is a PERFECT fit
It even gives a nice "snap" when it fits on. No debris is coming out of this one!

I will reduce the cap length.

Super glue will work just fine. The stir stick doesn't exactly need high-strength epoxy. Make sure to rough the end of the metal stick though, so the glue can properly adhere.

I have had the WPA for just 2 days and am loving the Lotus apparatus more and more!

I am using the bubbler I previously posted, and at first had some trouble as it is a bit of a blind hitter with the bowl above eye level; but I have now got the hang of it. In spite of not seeing the top of the hot plate, I am loving it! So much smoother...

After vaping for over a year now, it was not until yesterday when I finally vaped through water. It is amazing how much cooling and less irritation it provides. But I do agree it takes away some of the flavor.

I still will likely use the bubbler more than the stem because I can see the vapor go through it and I find it helps me better vape my herb and being able to see when to lay off the torch before combusting.

I have also changed my technique a good deal. Before I was just lighting and inhaling, now I am preheating the top for 4-6 seconds before starting my pull. I leave the torch on it the first 3-5 seconds, then lay off the torch and continue pulling until the smoke clears. In my experience, this has resulted in more evenly vaped bud with no blackening or scorched herb.

Oh shit!!! I didn't know they made those adapters!! Thanks so much! But it would make it even more portable(which is my ultimate goal) if you didn't have to use an adapter.

I would also buy a 10mm WPA. Unfortunately for me, using an adapter (like the one above) on my mini tube would put the bowl too close to my face for comfortably using a torch. Having a 10mm WPA would give me an extra 1-2 inches of clearance to make it tolerable.

I recieved my lotus I bought off of another FC member yesterday and finally got the chance to try it today. Not sure if something is missing or something because I am not getting any heat at all to the herb. I can't imagine it is user error as I am holding the flame right up against the the plate it is turned most of the way up and am holding it there for upwards of a minute with varying draw speeds. But still not getting anything at all, the holes don't seem to be clogged at all and the unit looks in good shape. I have read through this entire thread but didn't read of anyone having a similar problem. If anyone has any suggestions of something I could try it would be appreciated thanks in advance.

I fill bowl 3/4 loosely packed.
Flame 5/8th however I have a new torch coming!
I hated it at first and took me some time to make it work.
It was more user error than anything else.

These things are pretty simple really!

I'm thinking of buying a lotus. I love combusting, but trying to stay away from it. My volcano, even with thick clouds does not do the trick, nor does Solo. They all get me super stoned but not the head rush you get from combusting. I understand most of the "couch lock" feeling is from all the other burning toxins when combusting.

So is the lotus with WPA comparable to taking major hits from a pipe where you get the instant head rush. I never get that from volcano or solo, even though it gets me really stoned but quickly fades away. Hope Im making sense :)

Well, after a hit or two, the high hits me in the face. Does that count?

Combustion products can also affect your head. Head tightness, spinning, grogginess are symptoms from a few of those toxins and carcinogens.

@Max Jitter, any traction on wood stems? Or would I need to find myself a pipemaker?

I received my replacement torch from MT and it works flawlessly.
Nicely done @Max Jitter and crew (I assume.)

Now a short re-learning curve with the slightly larger Honest.
Only 1 scorched bowl so far, nothing too bad.

I subscribe to the "Less is More" philosophy. I prefer half bowl or less.

:smug:

Edit: Does the WPA take the same size screen as the regular stem? And if not can I still get some with a SASE?

Forgot to mention the herb was 3/4 full just poured in not packed at all. And I have the newest version with the patent #. And now that you mention it the plate isn't glowing.

you're most likely overwhelming it with too strong of a draw. I just had my first two lotus sessions and they were great. but before i had them I watched all the videos I could find on pages 56-70 (thanks all!) and mimicked their technique as a starting point.
