I was thinking it could be the little spring contact. Can oil possibly get down into that area? It was a concern i had watching the video of the Sr74. My first thought was teh 71 without the spring would be a more reliable unit.

If your talking about the spring in the centerpost that holds the bottom of the rod, yes oil can get in that if your not careful with cooling it down, storing it, or overload it. I kept my SR71, i really love the design, its simpler then it looks and have not had issues with it since i first got it and had to trouble shoot with G. I occasionally have to tweak the bottom adapter with a screw driver but never having downtime is a great compromise for occasionally having to turn a screw. I know the SR74 is basically the same but id rather keep my Big boy unit.

Why does a 2.4 cart work perfectly fine with a OMICRON or OPHOS however not the PERSEI?
Hm thats weird, does anything else work on it? Hercules, kiss? Whats it doing? I have one of the new prototype tops here, it works fine with my hercules. But am having major issues with the kiss cart at the moment

USPS is currently GUARANTEEING me that my package will be delivered by 3PM today. They seem to be having a hard time understanding that it is currently 8PM and they can't tell me anything about my package beyond 'it is scheduled for delivery by 3PM today'

Do you have those community mail boxes chad? I think it means their tracking shows it was in the mail drivers truck this morning. If the package requires a signature it might be back at the post office.

Finally ordered my Persei. Pretty hard to communicate with them, not sure why they dont like using email. Can I buy just the Persei head unit? If so how much does it cost? It seems that with buying the SS kit and the Core you could have multiple units if you had another couple heads.

Im also trying to decide what accessories I should get next and what order. Already ordered the SR 74, 3.7 - 7.4 kiss carts, and the SS kit. Which upgrade would you go for next?

The Core
Okeanos Bubbler

The only heads I've seen sold separately are the hammer ones. One of my kits is old style that came with a single and double head, but I think those are days gone by. I use the double top on the shorty SS tube. If your Persei gets used at home base most of the time, the Core might make sense (I just bought extra sets of AW IMRs). Ask @ataxian about the Bender, or @Sleepin in CA about the Okeanos. A few folks rock the Nibbler, which I hear pairs well with the Herc.

Edit: It seems the best way to communicate with w9 is through their ticketing system, and not trying to send emails directly. Helps keep things organized, and you can add entries to the ticket along the way.

The desk top vape is still being developed as the electronics have a lot to do with something I can't say. Currently the heaters being developed and testing should start in a month on a alpha prototype in a workable body.

The Triton has some design flaws and we made a major improvement and waiting for the new molds to make the parts we need, also currently working on the wicking system and trying to get it all done.

All in all alls going well and you should hear some news soon.

After a week of testing my new Persei, I have no regrets or apprehensions what so ever. Granted that the learning curve might be challenging to some, this thread has most(if not all) of potential issues and work arounds. I am happy as can be. As this tech gets better and better, there is no other company i would trust with aiding my relief. These guys are way ahead of the curve in innovation and development.

2 gs of Bubba Kush Shatter thru the Herc... Heavily medicated after 2 rips. so yummy and forgot how comfortable my couch is.

3 gs of Bubba Kush Shatter thru the Kiss. This is my go-to right now. Flavor is still way better than any other portable i own or have used. I might have to order the 3.7 Kiss just to have.

1 g of Bubba Kush Flower thru the Bender. My flippin Gawd! such Flavor. Many Irie I's. After the 2nd session, my other Vapes have become glorified paperweights taking up way to much room on my desk. Did I mention unsurpassed Flavor.

0 gs of wax thru the 2.4 carts. Dang it. Ordered 3 carts but forgot to order the filling tool. they have 3 different concentrates ready to load if and when i figure the work around or just order the tool.

picked up a Pelican 1060 case loaded with Kaizen foam for the house. That foam is the shizz. I am patiently waiting for the Nanuk Nano cases to be released so i can have a small travel case to toss in my pack.

@ScienTiFiC. If you were doing a trade show in the next couple of weeks, would you have cart filling tools and maybe e-cig carts at your booth?

I'm at a loss?

The K.I.S.S. comes in a 3.7 and a 7.4? (it might be called a 5.0?)

How are they different?
Both are T2 wire?

One uses 3.7v (one battery) the other uses two 7.4v and is stronger/hotter.

The batteries are different however what is the difference in the actual K.I.S.S. cart?

Why is there a choice?
The 7.4v are easier to burn out, think 5 ohm cart. The 3.7v are idiot proof for the most part. Think 2.4 cart. One hits like a beast, rhe other hits like a beast on crack (7.4). Also some people feel there is better taste at 3.7v, but I do not find this to be the case unless maybe you are a button rider.

Pretty sure thats why.

@swanky you can use a cake icing fill tool on the old style W9 carts. In fact thats where the W9 fill tool idea came from. I believe @Vitolo was the guy to figure it out. The size he uses is in the vaporpedia entry for the Persei.

That being said, (IMO) the old style carts are garbage compared to the KISS and Hercules and I personally wouldn't bother with those.

@ataxian

A. Yes I know you like the old skool 2.4 carts. I still dislike them. ;)

B. W9 offers the 7.4v KISS cart for cloud chasers. You sacrifice some flavor for more instant and larger clouds. You also sacrifice longtivity as the 7.4s seem to burn out much quicker.

@Caligula completely agree. Never liked or was interested in the old carts. Just not for me. Started with the hercules and havent looked back.

I was hesitant about the kiss cart too. But so far im loving it.

Most of the oil is down around the sides and i can see the middle of the coil and rod. Am i loading too much? Should I be constantly topping it off so i dont burn it out. Should i clean it up and start over?
