Yeah me too!
It will never reflect on your order,
because in their system it's an adjustment made after the fact.
If chris said he would switch it, then it is done--no need to call back.
At least in my experience!

Yeah, I figured as much, thanks for putting my mind at ease folks

Excited for the arrival of my :ssv: I'll definitely make a post once I've rode the wave. (PS, lovin' these emoticons this forum has!)

Does anybody find it funny that the screens almost never clog aside from a little discoloration? I don't know if it's the design or what but I had a Vapor Brothers and that thing would clog weekly. I have changed mine only once since I bought it a couple months ago should I be changing it more often? I think I will today :)

It is all about you.
Vaping is a personal thing

You should change it when you personally feel it needs it.
The Vapor Brothers wand is not the same, nor the ability to control the direction of the heat.
The two units require slightly different use approaches to maintain a screen the way it feels best to you.

My VB and SSV both require maintenance at similar intervals.
The SSV hand held wand with standard HC does require less cleaning than the other two SSV configurations, and than the VB.

I don't find it funny that the screens do not clog.
I use dozens of vapes, and none of them get clogged screens.
If you vape thoroughly, and consume all the oils from the herb, then abv will come out as dry as dust.
Clogs should be rare.

I guess in my case both are kind of similar in that my SSV has the hands free GG wand. I have had my VB for years (both the normal whip/ceramic) so had a great share of experience and yeah they aren't similar at all for me. The VB would clog fast for me 2 weeks or so where as the SSV hasn't really clogged at all. I always roast to an even dark brown. I am not bashing the VB as it's a nice durable vape that has served me well for years just an observation.

Finally got a nice heady shower head bubbler for my ssv, definitely a nice change up from goin dry all the time. No flavor degradation as far as i can tell. It being a smaller piece helps i guess.

Anyways, ssv ftw. Wonder what will come next from 7th floor?
I almost exclusively run my SSV through my small bong with a diffuser and dome perc, and I really like having ice in the ice catch, I would be curious if a bunch of ice would be better than any water percolation. It certainly doesn't need anything more than a single perc max.

And a good observation.
I never felt you were bashing.
I will study the concept for a bit myself (using plain vs ceramic etc) Maybe there is a certain physics of the devices/heatsource/directionality/shape, that can explain it!
I love my SSVs, but use the hand held most of the time.

Just received my SSV in the mail via Canada Post!! Very excited, anything I should know before I fire this bad boy up?

[EDIT]: My ground glass connection that shipped on the ssv is broke, the heater cover and the wand. They also shipped the fatty wand instead of standard.. Damnitt, are there are Canadian shops I can order from? Will I be able to get a refund on the glass? Looks like I'm gonna have to replace my heater cover and clean out the glass shards from the SSV.

Looks like it's just the ground glass HC that came attached to the SSV is broken.

[EDIT]: I just got off the phone with Chris. He said to send a picture and they would send a replacement with no shipping charge. The thing is, he couldn't garuntee I wouldn't have to pay the customs fee again (it was roughly $64) which is more than the piece is worth... Any suggestions? I'm considering buying locally because another customs fee would be bulls hit.

You can have a friend send you one.
You will still pay shipping etc, but if it is sent as a gift whose value is zero, there would be no custom charge.

What do you mean by have a friend send me one? Sorry lol just confused.

I'm trying to replace the heater cover at the moment and it's just a bit to tight to comfortably fit on. I have the newer style (no metal shims) with the little tension clip on it. In the 7th floor video on replacing HC's they said to use pliers to squeeze in the metal sides. Just wondering how I get pliers to fit inside?

I used a Hemostat whenever I would need to fix my shim. Can be found in the Fishing section of most retailers, for removing hooks.

  • A person in the USA purchases one
  • You pay them for HC and Postage
  • They place it in box and send it to Canada, writing "GIFT" on customs form.. value 0$, so you don't pay customs charge. Obviously this would be coordinated with a person that you trust.

I doubt that a heater cover alone would trigger a customs fee,
there has to be a minimum declared value?
Please keep in mind that I have no idea but I would investigate.

After researching, there are a few countries that do not allow Zero Value.
Canada is one of those countries and they require a minimum value of $1.

Yeah, I figure the customs fee would be relative to the price & weight of the item. I'll look into it.

I thought that was what you meant Vitolo, I don't know anyone in the US that would be fitting for the job (family friends, lmao).

Anyways, I loaded up the fatty wand, and cranked it up to full (totally blown away by how fast this thing heated up) and I'm ripped beyond belief and the bowl is still yellow to brown :haw:

Even with this glass situation, I'm impressed!

I thought the sender was the one that defined the item's value,
not that 7th floor wouldn't put whatever value that was requested.

True. Sender declares value.
That is what we are saying
We were discussing a friend sending a package to avoid customs fees.
7th floor is selling goods and insuring it's arrival, and they are obligated to put the value on the package.

My information comes from having sent wands, HCs, and entire units to:
Brazil
Argentina
Israel
Canada
and other places I can not recall at the moment, but I have been mailing related items out of the US for 5 years.
