@u bwade wunner could you also post on Versa's website, Chris mentioned a while ago
Checking in
OK! I got the adapter buy section up on the shop section of the website. If I sent you product and you some money, dont worry jut send me a PM on here as email seems to get burried and I dont check it as much with Leiana on it.

I have been soaking up all of the user feedback, taking my next steps very carefully. Some not so good moves were made with packaging/shipping and those cant be repeated. Its been alot of pressure working with everyone online, Paypal is just starting to release some of the unnecessary holds on our account so the last remaining refund can go out. Running a business is hard enough as it is and working in electrical high heat devices is very high risk so the next steps taken need to be very VERY carefully placed. Glass is a precious commodity and the work that has gone into these units is alot. Not so positive experiences left a huge taste in my mouth that will never be forgotten but I'm not out yet.

Here is what I want you to do, make as many comparisons and stress tests as you can. I want you to nearly bring me to tears with how much you want improvements. Every part of the unit you see so far is my work. I was involved with building every single beta unit. I got my hands dirty and I know what it takes to make a better vape especially when you tell me something you dont like. Destroy my ego.

Here is a list of things people want so far:
Better bowls (lots of changes)
Better heating element interchange design (remove some things, improve some things)
Better wiring (safer wiring)
Improvements on the control unit
Case with cutouts
Versa logo on everything (I'm glad you like it!)

Lets make it happen.

PM me if you want to talk with me directly.
I feel it would be beneficial having the information there aswell.

I've given myself some time too calm down but really

The twisted wires are not final model specification. This is functional and used in many of the beta units.

I guess this is functional to:cuss::mad:

What a crock of shit! There is no excuse for this. It clearly shows a lack about care about quality and more importantly the users health. Chris said, in one of his posts on the Versa board, that he personally assembled every unit. I guess this was exceptable to him, which is all I need to know.

Yeah that's bad. I have notice from disassembling the unit that the wires that connect to the heater wires are thin as shit and one of my connectors broke off. I tried to repair it with new connectors but now the spices are right where the cap to screw the heater in is. So I kinda fucked myself. If the build quality were better this would be a good vape. Just needs to have better materials used. Now when I turn on my unit it smells a little funny. Most of this is my fault for tinkering though. Now the question is do I let it be a paperweight or get a new heater core...........

Lame. I think you should get a new core for free really.

I wonder when/if the upgrades are coming?!

I honestly feel it will be forever, I asked when my G1 would ship Chis said:
Thats a great question. I would lik to get back to you on that as I dont know and exact ETA on the G1. We are making more changes than I thought initially and dont have any stock that I would send out at this time. When i have a little more information I will post it on the forum

I am pretty sure I won't see my unit in March, and I don't have high hopes for April, but hopefully I get a gH in April to tide me over.

I finally got my hookah bowl for my Infinity!

Packed it with next to nothing of shisha. Pretty small shisha bowl, like a fraction of the amount you normally need for a shisha bowl. I cranked my device to max and waited a few minutes and took a rip. Small hit, covered top for boost mode and got a much better hit. By the third or fourth hit I didnt need to use boost as it was started. I check the shisha, it had a slight charring on top, I may need to dial it down a little, I was just a little impatient and wanted to try it and again, never tried shisha with this animal so testing is required.

Cons: All Shisha juice (molasses I think) runs right out of the adapter and pools up at the joint. I know is usually spills out some Im not sure if its that much. Normally I have a clay bowl and cant see. However I do have a vortex bowl that I love that keeps so much of the flavor in. Wonder if Versa could figure out a way to keep more of the juice flavors in the shisha to maximize the bowl. Heres a picture of what Im talking about.
vortex.jpg

Pros: NO coal!!! its amazing that I can just plug in and go, I dont have that stinky smell of a coal and the extra unwanted smoke. Its a very nice clean hit and you use very little shisha. Will make your shisha last even longer.

I will test it out some more later and upload a video.

*EDIT* Max temp is too much, lowered it a bit now. Losin a lot of flavor and getting harsh. Shisha is turning a bit black.

Bowl needs to be much bigger if your using it with shisha. My heater is now covered in juices and browned a bit. I barely loaded any in. Its a good size for flower, but shisha just needs that extra room.

*EDIT 2* Infinity is now stuck on the hookah bowl. I tried to pull couldnt get it off, tried to twist just slightly and the whole heater is moving around now. Worked nicely at first, but now im a little frustrated.

That's what I was thinking when I saw the hookah bowl, that it's great for flowers with a hookah but not so much shisha tobacco because of the juices, the shisha kinda needs to be able to kinda stew in them.

I'm currently waiting for another controller box for my G1, the first one they sent wasn't quite calibrated properly so that may help to explain the delay for those still waiting.

So i had some more time for some research with the hookah bowl and it was not good..... Well I guess at first it was but my overall impression of the hookah bowl is bad now.

So after lots of tugging on the stuck bowl I finally got it free and was able to load a second bowl up. This time I put a pinch of shisha in, barely any. You can see form the picture below the amount I put in.
tRmVTts.jpg

X7JeUSP.jpg

You can also see from the first bowl I did that it really burned the shisha on to the bowl and the joint. I like having my stuff perfect condition and although its only cosmetic it sucks that the shisha browned the bowl and infinity.
lGO21lv.jpg

I loaded everything up and started with a lower temp. I seem to get pretty good cloud production around 80v with hookah bowl.
8vdx3Y0.jpg

Again flavor diminished very quickly as the shisha cant stew and all the juices run out very quickly. Another thing that I noticed was its pretty tough to inhale. I think the screen gets clogged with the juices and the bigger holes are something that are beneficial with hookah. Maybe a glass screen would work better than the stainless steel, or just a screen with bigger holes.

About 7 or 8 hits in to the bowl though I started to get a really bad taste and the room was started to smell horrible. Like something was burning. I couldnt even thouch the unit either. It was so hot, the whole body, not just the top half. I had to wait for it to completely cool off before I could remove it. I started to examine the device and noticed on the inside that the heat shrink was starting to brown and melt and the wire was now stuck to the glass. This is pretty bad and really turned my experience off from the Versa now. You can see from the pictures of how much this started to cook the wires.

So as of right now Im not going to use my versa anymore. I need to contact versa about my problem and what can be done about this. I do not feel the vapor path is safe anymore.

I have emailed Chris 4 times in as many days.and have received a one line reply on wednesday which did nt answer my query.i hope You get a reply soon.
I would be interested to see what hes come up with.

The infinity needs a proper strain relief where the cable enters the glass body and decent solid power connecters that are rated for 110V on the heater leads.

customer complaints around electrical safety should be at the top of the queue

Inhaling loose white dust from the element and fibrous leads in the heater cover needs to be addressed pronto too

It just doesn t seem to be an important enough to warrant a reply from Chris.

thats scary considering how many units he has out there on test.

He is not responding.

waiting game.

I've just sent him a email regarding the white dust etc. I love the performance of the vape it really packs a punch however I can't continue to use the device until these concerns are resolved. It does seem to be a weird way of doing business, create a awesome performing product only to use cheap and nasty components and construction methods has to be a false economy repairing faulty units damage to reputation etc, and then to ignore customers concerns as well:mental:

This is all very concerning. I'm sorry for everyone who is having problems. It seems quite a few units from the beta release are no longer functioning for various reasons. Mine is still going strong. However, the growing concern over health and safety issues and Versa's ongoing silence is troubling.

In regards to the unit I do not have the technical knowlege to really offer an opinion either way. I'm certainly not going to take it apart.

Generally speaking, I think we should tread lightly for the time being as this could potentially destroy Versa's reputation permanently. I have a few opinions about Versa but at the moment I am going to see how things unfold before I comment further. Nonetheless, if I was in the position that some of you now are I doubt I would be so patient.

Looking at those yellowed wires... i can't help myself but remembering the same happend in my Magic Wand... again it was an awesome performing unit.. but there was that burnt cable smell which i believe some of you call "robot fart" :)

Silver420Surfer

Downward spiral
Mine has sat for a few days after having a "shocking" good time on my last use. Maybe if I would of put the vape end together with the control box end,BEFORE plugging it into power, I may not have gotten shocked. But I am too afraid to "recreate" an electrifying experience. For now I will plug those two together first before I plug the power into my surge protector. And not touch the connecting point. I still like it. Some issues raised here concern me as well, but willing to see how it plays out before I make any assumptions. No dust or stuff noticed on my Infinity. Defintely will keep an eye out from here on out.

Oh Bugger

Here is my reply from Chris

We can get you a replacement core but unfortunately we can not replace it for free. If the product was disassembled without the proper instructions it is very possible for breakage to occur. The fee to replace will be $50 for the replacement core and $10 for shipping.

I had asked Chris several times for a disassembly instruction, but to no avail.
I explained the heater was cracked before i disassembled.
I have asked are there plans for a new different heater being available soon.
I have no intentions replacing like for like right now because of the current issues.

Game Over for me i think. I imagine getting a refund will be difficult now too.

The one consolation is the glass itself.i may be able to configure a new heater for the infinity.

If anyone reading knows where i could get a suitable 12v heater online drop me a pm.i would appreciate it.

For what its worth. I enjoyed the infinity experience.
Good vapor production, although marred by that hot spot.
I found good clean flavour at 40v on direct draw... It a shame my unit fell apart so soon.

Considering the infinity was designed to be modular and repairable, there are several simple design flaws that should have been addressed before shipping out beta units like shocking, safe wiring connections and a clean airpath.

Implementing the necessary changes to make the infinity a safe unit will be very difficult for a small start up like Versa.

I'm getting some idea how hard it must have been for stonemonkey when issues developed early on with his cloud vape....thankfully he made it.

Good luck to everyone who has contributed & made it a fun ride in this thread.

Damn

Wait. So Chris has stated that the work done in the betas was only up to testing standards and not intended for long term use. And also that they won't be providing replacements. If
correct that would be very poor.

Yes thats what it sounds like and I totally agree its poor form.his replies to me have been very vague from the word go.I rarely received direct answers from him.

I expect $50 to be cost price for the heater and a new heater cover.its just not viable for me to spend any more on the infinity especially if its same for same.

I consider the issues we are experiencing here to be down to dodgy practice & workmanship.my wife would nt twist mains wires together to form a connection.its shocking.

Imo we should be covered by some sort of warranty.i wonder what the watchdog would say.

Is this what being a beta tester means with versa,
that we pay good money and get no warranty and no instructions?

I hope they come through with a new controller box so I can at least give my G1 a try.
Like @Mr. Gwello 420, I don't want to look that close at my heater core :o
Maybe this whole thing was just an exercise in getting rid of old magic wand parts :disgust:?

Hopefully versa will step up to the plate and come through with something resembling a safely wired and fully functional heater core that is also safe to use as a medical device, and send them out as free replacements to those of us that were sent substandard components. Realistically, that would be the only way to salvage anything resembling a positive reputation in this industry. In fact, they should send new cores to all the testers, complete with detailed instructions on replacing them. That is if versa is capable of improving them, which we have not seen any evidence of yet. All we have to go by are a few that still work but that hardly inspires confidence in the face of what we have seen so far.

We know that versa can "talk" a very good game.
Now we shall see if they can deliver when it counts :2c:

I am still clinging to the possibility that my heater core has improvements over what has been pictured recently, and that I will get a controller box in the mail that will actually let me vape mj with it. Mine may indeed be capable of vaping shisha tobacco as it sits now, as tobacco vapes at a lower temperature (I think). But that shisha bowl is exactly what I thought it was and I m not anxious to try it with wet shisha.

Personally I am getting a very bad feeling (hope I'm wrong),
and I wish @vtac had issued his expose' about 12 hours earlier :(

:worms: indeed!

I posted this yesterday on the Versa forum;

Hello Chris/Leiana
I'm not really posting here much but I'm sure you guys have been reading my comments in FC. My unit is still going great but I really would like to hear some updates from you concerning the recent health/safety issues that have been discussed. Also what is the situation in regards to what you will eventually provide to beta members and what will the costs be if any? Guys I really feel your responses right now are crucial to your long term success. The longer you remain silent the worse it is going to be. I'm still behind you but you are fast running out of supporters particularly due to your selective communication process. It just doesn't cut it. I really hope that you guys can provide some answers that are honest and forthright.
Regards
Mr. Gweilo

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No response as yet but I imagine they have been reading FC and are well aware of the current issues being raised. They need to respond to everyone very soon to save any kind of reputation imo and every day that passes without a response from Versa is another nail in the coffin.

_____________________________________________________________

and here is the response from Chris;

I appreciate your support and understand your concern. If you perceive us being selective on our communication, I honestly don't know what you are referring to. We may have a difference in outlook and thats ok. I hope you are enjoying your vaporizer so far.

Have everyone who has issues or concerns with our vaporizer make a post on this page and I will address each directly. I will address each concern in 24hrs. Only posts made here will be addressed as we do not check the FC forum any longer. Emails will be answered independently. CS1@versavapor.com

If you want public communication in a forum format you must use our forum.

Thank you

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow!! This guy has no concept of customer service. He is so obtuse that it is hard to imagine it is not deliberate. He still has not answered any questions and thinks it is okay to issue me with a directive. They no longer read FC? I call bullshit right there. Despite my working unit I am just about done with these guys. They simply do not seem capable of running a company based on what we have seen recently.
