After some testing with the cloud+ me and my buddy are getting a really nice constant vortex. So far filling the water right between the 2 o's is working great, I'll try to get the wife to help film a quick video with the cloud

Sorry gents gotta wait till tomorrow till I can get a video up

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
So my wife understood how much I wanted to “play with my new toy” so we got rid of our company so I could.

I played around with water level in front of a mirror and then decided to start higher up than I originally had planned. I too started around the midpoint between the O’s (a la sasNW), but I fear my lungs are too aged to get a reasonable draw and recycle with my EVO at that point. Lots of vapor, but not much water draw to recycler, etc. So I bumped up my water level to just below the bottom of the “R” and that seemed to work better, but I still couldn’t really see if I was generating any kind of vortex or not. Water flow was there I figured. So I added a few drops of Cranberry Extract (cheap RezBlock substitute...see RezBloc thread) and with the coloring and bubbling in the water the vortex is really clearly visible. Plus, as I prefer my vapor on the lighter side until bedtime the distinction between the vapor and the water is clearer and you can see the vapor vortex too.

All in all, fun and effective!

Yeah right below the R is perfect for me, I think because the EVO has more restriction than the cloud+. I am loving this thing, I recorded a video and will post it up tomorrow.

Ok guys just 2 quick videos shot with the iPhone before work. Not good video but at least you can kind of see the vortex. But I can assure you it's connecting back to the main chamber. Me and the wife just finished moving so I will try and find a better camera for some real video tonight. Unless someone with actual film making skill jumps on it.... But hopefully it's better then nothing for you guys still waiting

Looks like your water level is at about the same height as mine although the shot was pretty quick before the "action" began. Pretty full in the main chamber.

My bubbler arm (perc) isn't quite level so the bubbles are uneven unless I prop up on side about 1/8" to level it out. The vortex seems to be better then, but difficult to be sure.
Also my front stem is slightly tilted. Looking from the mouthpiece it points towards 11 o'clock (instead of straight up. A minor imperfection that doesn't in any way impair function I would guess.

Overall: :tup::tup: + :tup::tup:

Would water to just under the "R" shatter the quartz nail if you were doing dabs? To the inexperienced me, it seems to me that the intake stem to be a little short if you wanted to use the quartz nail and dome right on the the 14mm male join piece because when you cease to draw, water level momentarily exceeds intake tube elevation and water drips off the intake tube: it overflows a bit. Wouldn't the quartz stem shatter?

I hope I'm making sense: at times that can be very difficult, especially with intensive, repetitive testing of new toys.

That's where I have my water level, but I don't do dabs...not enough coordination...lol
But I took off my 14-18mm adapter and tried several free draws. Even when I pulled hard enough to get water in my mouth the water level in the stem never got close enough to the tip to worry about I'd say.
Naturally I'd give it a few "dry" runs before actually heating things up.
Have fun.

Does anybody have any experience with a Simba matrix like the tube up on Massdrop right now? I have a Mobius 65b, but I'm in need of some cash so I'm contemplating picking up the Simba and unloading my Mobius. I don't want to give up too much on the performance end though since I vape mainly at higher temps.

I just got informed that Arizer is finally shipping out the Solos. Close to 40 days after they got orderd. xD
On the plus side, I get a free SCS 2-piece mini that will go excellent with my Ryot box. The 4-piece space case will be my mobile kief collector from now on.

Also, those RooRcyclers look awesome.

I joined in on the Simba mini Frit Oil Rig. Love the work on that piece...hopefully the one I get is similar.

Fritted disc would be the most diffused and the drag is subjective based on water level. There's also peyote pillars and matrix percs.

Joined the massdrop on the Simba mini frit disk oil rig based on your advice. Figured it'd be worth the extra money to support a small business, plus fritted disc isn't available at DH/AE anyway. If this doesn't keep me happy, a Mobius Matrix could be in my future. Just noticed that it has a male joint though, which sucks a bit. Looks like I'll have to pick up a female female adaptor as well.

This hobby could get expensive really quickly...already thinking about an EVO...

Of course the rig has a male joint, that's basically the only requirement to be a rig. There's s female frit disc from simba in the water pipes drop.

Just a quick update on the roor- I've found this thing will cyclone like a mofo no matter the restriction. I had a dr dabber cart a little clogged hooked up to the roor, filled the main chamber 100% full, now even with the crazy restriction the lightest pull starts the full cyclone.

As far as the water going back up with down stem- I did have this happen a few times in testing, but simply putting the pen back in the downstem is enough to let the water flow gently back into position after clearing. Haven't had to worry about the water since I started plugging the downstem a bit on the clear. Just thought y'all might want to know. I couldn't be happier with my purchase

Edit- also gotta mention that since this thing throws water so well on the inside, my bit of reclaim has had nowhere to stick! It looks pretty cool spinning in the cyclone, just waiting for the next piece of reclaim to grow haha it just forms one easy to pour out ball so far. Definitely going to be easier to clean then the collie I had

My brother and I got in on a couple Simba frit's. From the video on instagram Simba glass seems to make a nice fritted disc. This will be my first frit and I'm only gonna be using it with my Pinnacle Pro...until The Baker is released. What are the down sides of a frit?

Having to clean it often for it to function properly and losing flavor from the amount of percolation.

Oh, Got it. Thank's for the quick response. I recently ordered alot of cranberry extract to use in place of "rez-block" so hopefully that will help to keep the frit clean. I guess when it gets here I will have to do a lot of testing.:brow:

Be careful with the extract. If you leave it sitting in the water it turns a little fuzzy from bacteria growth and the frit disc would probably exacerbate the problem.

I doubt this is the right place but I wasn't sure where to ask- does anybody know where I could buy a curved 14mm adapter so I could use my pen upright with the roor recycler?

I know I've seen the post a while ago where someone here did a glass adapter to keep their pen upright while using it with a regular downstem. I've googled everything I could think of and can't find the search button here. Thanks in advance
