Hey there, been a long time hey?!

Some electrical sub eventually came to see me. The custom handle 1.0 style was not possible so i have been able to reach two brand new xlr 2.0 one appolo and one dab master.

I used fairly both, and switched to only dabmaster because of better dabbing utility, i prefer to have gunk the outside of the unit with dabmaster. My appolo is virgin of all crater dabbing. I recently enjoyed wattmeter to my vapes too.

I measured 10g of difference from appolo to dabmaster head but not witnessed any difference in extraction in the bowl, perhaps a slight slide on wattage. If you cant decide, always choose dabmaster because it is the same piece from appolo but with better dabbing ability.

My concerns about xlr connection are vanished as the handle function is well fullfilled.

The controller is a huge improvement, it is working very good despites bad cutting edge at connection for one of it. it seemed to me each settings contains two clicks prolly 1W by click or a bit more. I am at 52 W at max.

The bad side is the timer, for me, safety first but it not to the vape designer to decide for you, especially when the vape heats in 30 min.

I think also the heat shield should overcome some safety to remove the timer. please do it.

Very important health thing, the inside of the atomizer should be washed regularly because all particles that are stuck in there are cooking forever, transforming resin into sublimate, but tar and carbonized gunk is in too. So clean it up well.

To collect sublimate more cleanly may be someone should try to install a tiny SS or Ti wire to guide it by capilarility down to reclaimer. I installed 3 screens to the sub: ufine PV screen+sub reg screens at the bottom of the bowl and a iolite hard screen (non-holed) which is perfect match for top bowl.

The convective effect is very effective in a high temp bowl. So effective that a part of the (super)effect of sub is from hitting it dry! I found it a bit harsh though after heavy use so switched to watered path.

The real enjoyment of mine is the no drag config permitting to draw huge! cant wait to try the VXL EVO for that!!

at 34W (setting 6-1):
flower: 1 hit
bubble, flower+bubble: 2-3-4 hits

Sublimate started to drip of course, powerfull stuff!!

Hey @Detonator, please be aware that my sub 1.0 solution isn't directly transferable to the 2.0 version, because the 2.0 runs on lower-wattage dc power compared to the 1.0 which runs on 115v ac power.

A timer bypass hack could still theoretically be done for the 2.0,
but would need to use different components.

The thing in the middle:

It's a Belkin F7C009 conserve socket timer.

hmmm

well ok I thought the timer for the new xlr was in the power box on the new xlr version and that it was still 110 volt and it was just stepped down to lower voltage where it meets the actual control knob with the monkey face

So if it is and you just snip it off and put it a dimmer switch, wont it be like yours ( no timer ) but with a new monkey faced controll knob?

am I missing something?......

If the 2.0 is 110v all the way to the apollo or whatever head, but I don't think that is the case.

If you go back through this thread the sub people very nicely reminded me that you can't put ac power through an xlr connection. That makes me think that the 2.0 controller box is also a power adapter of some kind. Maybe they could weigh in again to confirm; I think at some point they also said it was 36v dc running to the heater heads of the 2.0 so it would seem to be a different system entirely.

I'm sure there's still a solution to bypassing the 2.0 timer, and maybe a standard ac lamp dimmer would still do the trick but I have no idea. I'm just happy to have my 1.0 running the way I want it to.

Hey PV and Enrico, when will you guys start accepting bitcoin payments? Companies like coinbase and bitpay allow you to accept bitcoin payments but receive your money in $dollars the next day so you are never exposed to the fluctuations of the price of btc. Its a win for us cryptocurrency users and a win for you guys!

Thought I should mention that these guys are all heading to Spain right now, and might be absent for a bit. I just got FB updates from Cannabis Culture News showing the plane/airport so they are on the way. Hope you guys have a great time Spanasubbin'!

Is this the newest/standard version of the Sublimator now? I've been eying Sublimators for a while now, I guess it's fortunate I haven't had the money until now, heh. :D

Anyone else notice the XLR's are no longer on PV?

I did ... although AFAIK they never had all the XLR 2.0 options in stock. They didn't seem to have the full kit (which is the top seller on the official site). They mainly had the adapt-a options.

I was waiting for the full kit -- maybe the changes of late are in preparation for having the full XLR line? If not I will likely just buy from the official site. I like PV's warranty stuff etc but don't want to wait much longer.

In my experience with PV, they dont do anything haphazardly. If they removed it from their site there is a good reason, good enough for someone like me to wait and find out why. I also noticed they removed their Sublimator Medical line link.

To be honest ive been waiting for the Sublimator to kind of "stablize" in terms of quality of build. Meaning im waiting for them to iron out all the kinks before I take the plunge(the first adopters of high end vapes usually get burned by being beta testers) but it seems they decided to change the setup so my waiting begins again.

Im probably just gonna get the UFO kit until their XLR has matured since nothing on the UFO can break.

I have one of the earlier timer box versions and it still works like a champ, no problems at all. I am curious why they have taken it down off of PV though.

anyone having any trouble with the new shorter atomizers blowing out 18/14 reducers when it gets hot. i have broke every single one i have in my fucking house and now i dont want to put that in a 14mm joint out of fear of that breaking. I still have a atomizer from the ufo that i never had trouble with before that i will have to try with the xlr head to see if it is the new atomizers breaking my shit or what

i consider myself lucky to have gotten a non timer version of the original unit. still going like a champ too.

this thread is new to me. I am gonna have to do some research on this model now :p

IYE you have a high tolerance adjusted téflon ring. Try too put some big tube to fit 18 joint smoothtly and directly. @tig420

Don't put the atomizer into the reducer until it's already heated up (fully expanded).

The timer box doesn't bother me at all. It has an override and I do like to be able to have it shut off at certain times. I like the look of these new XLR 2.0s but I just don't think I want to pay for the upgrade while mine is working flawlessly.

I just received a Ti Apollo adapt a sub kit, and was also very curious about the short atomizer. It's the first short one I've seen or heard about. I'm using the 14/18 Teflon bushing that came with, and running it all in a Sub buddy reclaimer. The first time I tried to use the unit, after a 30 min bake on full temp, the atomizer was stuck solid in the reclaimer. Wow, quite a task trying to work it loose without breaking my new reclaimer. I now give the atomizer a wiggle every few minutes during warm up. No issues once up to temp, but the 14/18 bushing always remains with the reclaimer instead of staying attached to the 14mm Teflon on the atomizer.

Does anyone know why they changed to a short atomizer? I suspect the longer one might provide better results when used with a reclaimer.

Was also wondering about the new heat guard for the Apollo. From a couple of videos, I was under the impression that they were going to be standard on the XLRs, but mine didn't come with.

Yeah mine stopped buzzing and I'm using override a lot more now. It seems to me that v1 peeps get 2 year warranty from date of purchase so compared to the new controller and 1 hr timer and only 1 yr warranty, we got a good deal to begin with. Just wished I had waited for the discounted price with the tube.

I'm using a six-hour timer, it's a good balance between the 24-hour override and the 1 hour limit.
Even better, I can take it out of the picture entirely if I want

Hey, yeah I lost 2 adapters to that but The one I am using now has worked great for 2 or so weeks and I never heat the sublimator up separately from this adapter. So maybe a taller style is needed, because both my broken ones were low-profile adapters.

(See adapter in pic below of my setup)

And for the reason I came to post here, just wanted to show this picture of my Titanium appollo which is blue and purple now after a few weeks of use (used 7, 8 , and 11 a couple times for dabs)

Kinda looks cool.
