QUESTION ABOUT HERBIE:

I vape quite often with flowers that I top with a couple scoops of Kief. Anyone do this with Herbie? Ok or not advised? Would this work in the standard bowl or would you have to use the concentrate pad?

I do this now and then, but I was concerned about the Kief passing the upper screen. For me the simple solution was to drop the concentrate pad just on top of the bowl to act as a super tight mesh screen.

Its worked so far - except for that one time I'd forgotten I had some wax on the pad :mmmm:

It's not just me?! I was starting to think I was a freak because the last time I hit the Sub (after using it a lot for a week) I felt absolutely nothing. No one else ever reported it and this is my first time mentioning it. But if you've had it packed away for three weeks then I think you deserve a treat by breaking it out. That thing will rock your world on an occasional basis.

I'll bet your Infinity feels the cleanest and has the least amount of sleepy effects of your vapes, right (other than a low temp Sub hit)? That was the baffling thing about the Sub for me. I would get the most intense low temp head highs, but would build up that tolerance quicker from what we are calling the conduction effects, even though the vape didn't make me sleepy. A true mystery.

Nope not alone, are we in a new club together?

I wanted to make sure I addressed some other things in your post.

I'm going to hold out for as long as I can before I go back to the UFO to see if the break rebooted me for its sig. The Infinity is still getting the job done and I'm still learning how to master it. For instance, I just found out that all I need right now is an 8 hour break by skipping the temptation to wakeandvape and my tolerance stays in the lower range, vape too much continuously except when sleeping and I get lessened effects and duration. However, this is tough to do on the weekends. :science:

Infinity high is pretty clean and I'm pretty certain the hotness of the glass bowl is not hot enough to add much conduction if any. Seems to have a higher high point than my Sub gave me, but not as relaxing since more convection heavy. But the duration of the Infinity's effect is kicking the subs arse, it seemed to me like the sub high tapered off really quick even at the beginning of using it....that did surprise me. I still think the sub is great though, I don't want to come off as knocking it.

Back to Herbie, and @mvapes, I bet a lot of people would like a list where to get the materials, what they cost and some type of visual assembly example.:evil::evil: For all your GonGtraptions...:whip:

Got my unit this evening! Thought I was going to have to wait another day, but he showed up around 7.
So real quick, it came well packaged with bubble wrap around it's box. It's actual packaging is very nice, much more than what I expected.
The vape, I don't know, I'm really really medicated, I like it(!), I have a concern or 2 nothing much. There's a lot to take in with this and I'm going to need time to digest it.
One hell of a vape, most definitely , I had slightly too much on 2 occasions trying to get to some good herbie experience right away.

(I passed out last night while keying this message in bed, woke up hit post)

FYI - Most of Europe is 230v/50Hz and Herbie needs 115v/60Hz. Some devices have power supplies that can sense/switch between 110v and 220v but I don't think Herbie's does. I did a quick search but didn't see anything obvious.

I am who I am and your approval isn't needed!
Because the transformers ONLY convert voltage and not the frequency, I'd contact Herbalizer directly as the Herbalizer unit states only 60Hz (not 50/60Hz) and I'm not sure how the difference affects electronics/heatsources... a motor is a def NO.

...So how do you guys know this isn't just a "new vape" halo on the different, more intense medicated feeling that will fade over time....
Because, I have not been here.... that's how!
I am 3 pages behind in the Herbalizer thread.
Because I was living a real life, and not stuck here 24/7 at computer as you all are used to seeing me do.
The halo fading you are describing is "accustomization"..... The part of life where the inevitable happens and you get used to things.
Familiarity does not always breed contempt.
I am very familiar with my wife, but love and admire her more each day.
The only thing that this accustomization can do in the long run is make those that
own Herbie begin to take for granted how their meds should feel...
and make the users blasé about using other vapes.

I personally have not grown blasé about my wife, or my favorite foods.... nor about my favorite strains... and not about the tools I use to vape.
It is not a "new vape halo".. it is a patient knowing when they have struck gold... the comfort zone!
It takes more than one person or manufacturer saying it, so put your story together and contribute here on FC and at:
Will do... There is a whole thread of guys like me that can attest to Vaporiization as a powerful weapon against the most vile monster in the Universe.. Nausea.

"Use The Force, sch15m"
When I am feeling bad, my hands don't work, and I learn compensatory moves for those days. That includes opening doors, jars, the fridge... and even rocking that bowl off of Herbie.. This will come naturally after a short time... the compensation and finding your right way.

Sir, I like your style and your philosophy and wish to subscribe to your newsletter!

And your Herbie vids are awesome.

I have been too verbose on FC lately, I will go back to my quiet corner for awhile...maybe the server move will force me into an FC T-Break.

Almost there...
Excuse the noob here but... What is Vape Signature?

If i think it is what i think it is then maybe it will explain this.
Sorry very medicated right now but have to get it out...

So for the past few days i have been using my Cloud+, decided to give Herbie a break.
The Cloud+ was performing solidly and giving huge clouds and a great medicated effect.
One thing i noted was that i did not cough very often with the Cloud+ at 2:30

Tonight i had a date with Herbie!!
Same herb, same quantity, same temp, same bubbler and same technique using fan assist.
I could not finish the bowl and i had to walk away and give up!
My heart was pounding, ears ringing and massively medicated for the past 20 minutes...LOL!
And i find i tend to cough more now with Herbie, does not really matter what temp either.

Now why would this happen?
I mean even the herb is from the exact same nug still!
Is there an explanation for this?

I think i will try it in reverse now and use Herbie for a few days and then try the Cloud+ to see if it is the same effect.

Wow, that took a long time to type...

That's pretty much it, you can develop tolerances to different vapes because they all have unique thermodynamic signatures. So when you become acclimated to one, you can rotate to another that you haven't used in a while and it will seem like new again, as far as your acclimation/tolerance goes.

Was the vapor cloud much thicker with the herbie?.

Since you were using the fan, more condensation was taking place then with the cloud and the temperature was more.accurate at the beginning of your inhale so more extraction. That heart pounding and ears ringing is a sign of high sympathetic nervous system activity I was referring to in my previous post.

Remember, this is allegedly happening.

@grokit, I wouldnt take those temps serious because a lot of those numbers are off. Someone started spreading it around the net since 2009/2010 but studies have shown those numbers wrong specifically for thc.

It may mean the lowest temperature thc is found at but in significant amounts, its wrong.

@stickstones from what I remember it goes:

thc-392
Cbd-374
Cbn-365

This is after decarboxylation happens.

For the rest on the chart google the mercks index and do a search on their site.

Here's the very important research study dr.hornby did concerning this. I posted it numerous times on the site but I guess it got overlooked:
http://www.rollitup.org/medicating/393439-preliminary-experiments-volcano-tempature-setting.html

What needs to be taken into account is they used the original volcano which has a 9 degree swing in temperature and it uses a large heating block so the change will be slow so this is probably why they needed numerous bags at 7.5(around 405f) to extract most of the thc. With the herbie the heating element responds much quicker so you will need less bags at a temperatire more close to thc's boiling point of 392f.

Just had to share a little bit of personal happiness Herbie has brought to my family.

My aunt suffers from a condition that results in intense pain creating a feedback loop and if an episode is not brought under control in 12hrs she will end up needing morphine to break out of the pain. My aunt has only recently discovered the benefits of medical marijuana via edibles. She has tried to use vapor several times over but every time she coughs much harder and longer then anybody should. By accident we figured out it was something in the 1st balloon I'd pull from a new bowl for her. Normally I'd finish the bowl and give her a fresh one every time. Two weeks ago I didn't finish the bowl, so I handed her a 2nd balloon from the same bowl. Her throat didn't hurt at all the 2nd one. To be sure it wasn't a fluke we did it the other way around the next night and yep same results.

1st balloon/bowl=coughs
2nd balloon/bowl=no cough
So a bit more experimenting:science: and we discover that as long as we run the fan a full cycle in the range of 290-310 she is able to enjoy a balloon at 395 and get all the benefits without the coughs. She's in less pain, and a 2am trip to urgent care is much less likely!

I'm in no way suggesting the goodness that comes out in 290-310 is just going to waste - those are mine :spliff:

This is fantastic and something I'm so glad people can do with this unit. You're not the first person to mention this, actually. Might be second, or third, but it's great to hear the temps are so accurate that you can remove the "undesirable" parts of a strain and be left with a different profile, or you can stay at low temperatures consistently.

For what it's worth, it's not a fluke at all. The lower temperature stuff is the terpenes and a bit of THC which is a known expectorant. It'll make you cough a bit, especially if you're not used to vaporizing in general. Vape that away at low temperatures and it won't be there at higher temps.

Thanks for sharing, I love to hear about this kind of stuff. I have chronic pain and I know what it's like to have to deal with pain that can at times be very debilitating.
