Discontinued Versa Infinity - The Glass Vaporizer

Thanks, when I saw the whip attachment without a whip my mind went to balloons first.

They gave me a heads-up at the end of last week that it would ship sat/mon, then never heard anything else so I inquired back and was told that it was scheduled to arrive today, which turned out to be correct. I never could get a tracking number out of them which had me a bit worried, but everything appears to be fine.

Anybody know where I can get a single 19/22 keck clip on the cheap?

Here are my final thoughts on the Infinity. This is all just what I personally would want from my unit so bear that in mind. I would like a smaller bowl size as I don't use a lot of material. I would make the heater about half the length that it currently is so in theory the heat would be moved further upward expanding the 'cool enough to handle range'. Although I have had no issues using it and neither did my friend when he came over and he's fairly new to vapes. I'm going to get a plug for my unit that will fit into the inner hole on the bottom to put it in permanent boost mode. This way I can still use the base for storage. I think it works great with the hookah attachment and I enjoy it more than I would have thought. I would love to see custom or at least colored units. The control box could be a little more heavy duty along with the wiring. When disassembling I did find the spade style connectors a little difficult to pull apart and this could be an issue for someone with less than nimble hands. Outside of those things, I really have no issues with the Versa and enjoy using it. However, I do think a 14mm version that is slightly smaller in all aspects would be perfect.......for me. HAHA!

I'm having great success with using the adapter method that I came up with using the ELB cap. I can pack it about half full and use 55-60v with boost and get one big hit that extracts everything and milks the tube quite well.

I hope that my G1 Beta arrives soon. It looks nice @grokit maybe mine will come soon also. Let us know how you like it once you get to test it.

I did let mine warm up for a few minutes on max, just to confirm that it does heat up.

The unit heated up to where I could feel the heat radiating off of it,
but the glass did not get hot to the touch at all.

This could be because it was just a short test without actual vaping,
or maybe versa made some modifications along the same lines that @Madcap79 did.

As far as the case goes, it seems to contains everything besides the actual vaporizer quite well.
So if I was to travel with it I would put that main versa unit in a different case.
Because the Versa is just a bit to big to feel protected by the case no matter how you put it in.
But wth I only paid $10 for it, not complaining because it holds all the other stuff just right.

I wonder what they might have done. My 'mod' was simply to make a cone at the end of the heater to try and widen the air path. I don't know if it really did anything but I haven't noticed the green halo in any of my bowls. Plus I keep the vape at 60v or lower.

How long was it on max before feeling the unit? If they did eliminate most of the heat I will be impressed.

I would really like to shorten the heater core but I can't without ruining the heater I believe so I'll never know.

I left it on for about 5 minutes,
it radiated heat out the top but was cool on the sides.
I didn't see anything glowing but it was daytime.

How does the versa compare to your HI?

When I maxed out mine it would glow in the dark. Mine got quite hot to the touch at 85v which was good for non boost hits. I would say it might take longer than 5 mins for the glass to warm and retain the heat. I'd be interested to see how your unit feels at 85v after 20-30 mins. Even without use. If it's not crazy hot toward the end then something must have improved or you have a higher tolerance to heat. Haha.

Compared to the HI it has a more restrictive hit but that's because I'm always using boost. I find that the Versa has an edge on one and done type hits but the HI has better taste and sometimes I like to do a little sipping, if you know what I mean. But, the Versa can somewhat accomplish that with the hookah attachment. I want to get a plug for the unit so I can use the hookah as hands free as possible. I have a special place in my heart for log vapes so I may be a little biased. For me, I could use either one for a daily driver.

Hope this isn't just rambling.......I'm slightly vaked!

Got a email from Versa about my G1 today. There are working a few more mods, then mine will be shipping. I will let everyone know as soon as they send me a shipped conformation e-mail

I have been using the centre of a NoGoo container cap as a boost plug. I sacrificed one for the cause. Basically cut the inside circle out and jammed it up the Versa

It works well and still gives just enough room for the base.

Wow seems as though this thread really slowed down. I have been on a brief vacation from FC unfortunately. A few things to note;

Hookah Usage - As mentioned previously I ordered and have since received a Roi Beast Hookah which is all glass. It mated very easily with the Versa flower bowl. It is pretty great but I have already smashed the downstem and a new one is on order. Also the company neglected to include the valve release piece (also glass) so I am not sure how much that impacted the performance. I was just getting by with a DIY fix it for the time being. I think this hookah aspect is perhaps where Versa may find a niche market with this vape. I'm pretty sure there is nothing else like it. The extraction when using a hookah is extremely thorough imo.

The Heat Issue - Many were very concerned about this but after about three weeks of usage I can report that it is in fact no problem at all. I would still prefer the shell didn't get so hot but it is not too bad. I have actually only burnt myself once. Maybe the second or third day I had the unit I reached out and touched the top of the flower bowl in a moment of sheer stoner stupidity. It hurt a lot but I have not burnt myself again since.

Boost Mode - In my initial reviews I suggested the boost mode was not really for flowers. I have now changed my position on this. I have a fear of combustion and will mostly avoid vaporizers that can combust. This led me to stop using boost for a while after combusting initially. However, as mentioned by others pulsing the boost or using it on a lower temp is fine. However, be careful. It is easy to push it too far.

Combustion in General - I have combusted about 6 times over the past few weeks. Usually from hitting boost mode but also from not stirring when using hookah and attempting to extract more vapor when there was none to be found.

Overall I still like the Infinity very much. I am not using exclusively now though. I am currently working out how often I want to use and in tandem with what.

Versa and EFS gridded donut. 60v. Boost. Yum.
Also, using the stock bowl with an ELB as a screen. It seems to milk just as well as the two adapter method I had been using. Now if I could just get the ELB to stay in place when I dump the bowl.

I am still using a dome screen in the original flower bowl. It works really well. A new screen will fit in nice and snug...

Yes the dome screens are a fair bit bigger, my ELB caps fall straight out too...

Good to hear. They shall be ordered. I'm curious to see what design changes are being made to the bowls and units. Chris liked a few posts on the Versa Forum and I asked for updates. Haha. Hopefully soon.

You and me both. I reckon the design will be a version of what we are using...with some sort of dome screen in the original flower bowl. Maybe the bowl might be slightly shorter too, bringing the heat source closer to the load...?

I wouldn't mind if the bowl was a little shorter. If the handle idea comes to fruition, I'm interested to see that as well. Also a little scared haha.

I arrived home today to find a broken Versa on my floor the cats swear they didn't do it but I'm not buying it. As I inspected the broken unit I found something troubling. Besides the fact that the wires are connected just by twisting them together, there appears to be fiberglass strands where the wires enter the heating element right next to the air intake hole. If you hold it up to the light and agitate them even just a little you can see tons of particles fly off in to the air. Not sure weather it is actually fiberglass or not but whatever it is I surely do not want to be inhaling it. Hear is a pic.

Any idea if that's a ceramic compound on the twisted leads going into the ceramic element? Or maybe some kind of chemical reaction? Does it flake off into particulate matter easily?

Not sure what it is but yes it comes of pretty easily and leaves some kind of gritty fine sand like residue on my fingers.

You got a poopy unit. Mine looks nothing like that. My power wires also had spade style connections. Sorry about your unit. That's a bummer.

My unit too has dodgy wiring.



So i noticed a dark shadow on the heater gong connection earlier today.
I decided to investigate further.

I tried Madcaps suggestion and started twisting the heater cover gently between my fingertips and with a gentle twist anti clockwise while feeding the power cable through the unit, the heater cover began to spin and came apart nicely.

So,after threading the wiring and the heater cover up and out of the infinity,I notice my ceramic heater is fractured just under the screen.i have asked Versa to send me a new heater...i am waiting to hear from them.

But here is the nasty issue i found during dismantling

The final mains wiring connections at the heater are just stripped and the copper strands twisted together to form a connection.there is some plastic heatshrink over the connections but this provides very little strength and integrity to the connections.

The only thing stopping wiring being pulled loose from the unit over time and a potential short, or fire or electrocution is a knot on the cable inside the infinity body.

If either of the heater cables came loose inside the infinity.Well who knows

Also visible front centre are the shards of the broken heater
The heater is held in place with the top stainless gong screen which has been removed in the pic to show damage to the heater.

I would prefer to see either a sealed stainless or glass heater in the infinity.

Dust confirmed by gosaints is a little alarming and not going to benefit anyone long term.

Update:

I heard back from Chris today regarding the wiring connections.
No mention of a replacement heater yet but he said:

The twisted wires are not final model specification. This is functional and used in many of the beta units.
