Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

I think it has more to do with the metal bowl thickness than it does with what kind of wood it is. Metal conducts heat (warms up) much better than wood.
mmm...certainly the metal parts are not exactly the same...granadillo is a bit bigger (in diameter), couldn't tell you about thickness...

@overvaped I think cypress being a soft wood species mighta had something to do with it warming up rather quickly. I typically only use dense species, the cypress was the softest I have ever done. The metal bushing would have something to do with it. Usually all the bushings wall thickness are within .001"s of each other, the walls may vary some, one wall maybe a little thicker than the opposite side. Could it be that the heat travels quicker through the softer wood? I think I remember hearing tell of one of the log vape manufacturers saying that they experienced heat traveling more so in a softer wood than a dense wood. The bushing would get hot and then the heat would travel to the wood. Tell ya what, I have some more cypress, it just doesnt have the green/silver tones to it like yours did, its more golden but still sinker cypress. If you like I could make you another to replace it.

@Pinnacle Pro & @stickstones I had a lota fun yesterday! I picked a really nice piece of cocobolo, got some measurements and turned an Ascent stem/14mm wong. This stem is just at 3 1/2" in length and has the same size draw hole as the glass stem. Pls let me know what you think.

I also got a FlashVape yesterday! Wow, there is alot going on here at Ed's TnT, got a couple new vapes, new ideas, a shit pot load of exotic woods, just wishing I had more time! I did have enough time for a couple of quick sessions with the FV. I am gonna have to do some research on how to use it properly. I did combust one time but over all got some nice cloudy vapor once I figured I didnt have to hold the button more than about 3 sec. It gets hot quick! I was turning the Ascent stem above thinking about the FV and couldnt wait to make a stem for it also. I had just gotten all this African blackwood and thought it would make a really nice stem to match my black unit.

I found that the glass stems that comes with the FV are kinda loose. I used a small piece of silicone that came also to slide over one end of the glass and insert the other end of the silicone in the FV. This worked well and held the glass in place. Not sure if thats what your supposed to do with it or not. The blackwood stem is the same is the same length as a wooden LB stem but slightly thicker. It fits nice and snug. Been experimenting quite a bit and having a good time, I love my work!

@jambandphan03 glad you are getting some use out that stem one way or another, thanks for stopping by!

Really love all the woodwork here and would like to get one for my Ascent - but I'd even more love one for the E-Nano as it would be just a perfect match.. and I know people have asked here for it a couple of times and you have problems getting the needed info from Andy, but wouldn't it be good to get the measurements of current units from FC members?

Because imo it'd be quite easy, as there's a lot of space for the stem and the part fitting on the heating element doesn't need to be super precise..the glass parts sold by EV aren't neither and seem to vary a lot..

Sure it would be good to get the info however possible! I have one of the first Nanos, I am thinking I could make a stem for it and just see how it performs. Once we find out what some of the newest Nanos sizes are I could adjust to those dimensions. I am gonna think on it this morning and may even turn something up this afternoon. Hang in there with me and maybe I will have something to show and tell tomorrow!

The ascent really is a great vape, I've been enjoying it and using it daily since I first got it.. Cant wait for those stems, I dont really mind the SS screen because I still get bits of herbs in my mouth and I'm sure those SS screens should stop that.. it does take away the all glass factor but it makes it more durable at least, pretty cool to be able to have those two options like the Solo..

that gong piece looks nice too!

@Sonics420 Thanks for the kind words and the post bro, I am just as anxious to get em out there for you all. I do think they are a great accessory for the ascent and make it a hellova lot more durable. The wood species I am using is so dense it feels like glass to the touch. I think you will be surprised how hard the blackwood is. Hang in there with me a little longer and I will have em ready soon! I wish you well and all the best!

@KidFated. I am glad you made it back and hope you had a great time! I just checked the tracking info for your piece and show its close, you may have it today! I am just hoping it will fit your UD, I dont think I have ever made any specifically of the UD so am not a 100% it will fit. If it doesnt pls let me know ASAP and we will go from there. I hope it does fit and if so that it performs well for you. Pls let me know either way bro!

Alright, good afternoon everyone one, for all ya'll wanting me to do something for the Nano, I have done some looking into this. My Nano's heat port OD is just under .370" I have ordered some SS thin walled tubing and it should work on the old units as well as the newer ones. If anyone could pls let me know if you can what size your heat port is. I am not sure but think Andy has changed the OD of the tubing slightly from the older one I have. I didnt get very much SS, just enough for a handful of tips. I think this will give me a good idea of how well these will perform and where to go from there. I hope to have something made for you all to have a look at soon. Thanks for bearing with me, I ask that you all hang in there with me a little longer. I appreciate ya'lls encouragement and interest in my work.

After a cleaning accident left my PVHESGonG for my Solo with a sizable chunk of glass missing from the bowl section, I think I see a 2" Blackwood Solo stem for myself in the near future.

Has anyone had a chance to pick up the super-shorties Ed has in stock yet? I imagine it's nice not worrying about the piece breaking or the glass getting hot to the touch for my lips.
