Perfect, I won't give advise on whether a given unit is safe to use as Andy is better equipped than anyone in the world to tell you whether your Nano is ok :)

You will be fine soldering those joins man, just be careful to solder only those joins, don't get solder on the PCB outside of where the cable joins in question connect to it - you might inadvertently solder another component on the dimmer directly to the power cable wires - bad news!

Andy is indeed the best, enjoy the customer service with your Nano my friend, you'll be lucky to get this level of help anywhere else :)

Are you still waiting on your replacement dimmer switch? Since you seem pretty savvy with electrical, I would love it if you could post some pictures of the process of installing it, in case I do end up having to go that route.

I haven't got my new dimmer yet, but seriously man, the process is simple.

I will get some photos later today (my girlfriend doesn't like more attention paid to my vape than to her, who could blame her?). You will have no trouble at all though, I suggest finding some good closed end crimp terminals (you will need two to replace the ones you will need to cut up inside the unit to remove the old dimmer/cable).

There are two screws at the bottom of the unit on either side of the epicvape logo, underneath the cork sticky feet. Unscrew these with a Phillips head and the bottom cover will come of the main unit. From there, you will quickly see that the wires for the light bulb, the heater and the power cable are all terminated with small transparent nylon and metal crimp terminals.

Cut the terminals away with sidecutters from the top, leaving yourself as much remaining cable on the light bulb and heater as possible. This will disconnect the different components from each other, but remember which were paired with which for reconnection to the new cable/dimmer. Then simply run the new cable through the cable cavity in the bottom of the unit, connect the two wires from the cable/dimmer to the light bulb and heater respectively and crimp the new closed end terminals to connect the wires as they were originally, but to the new dimmer/cable.

Then simply screw the bottom cover back on, being careful that no wires are expose internally and all bare wire is completely covered by crimp terminals or wire insulation.

You'll be golden from there :)

Hey guys, future E-Nano owner here, I just have a few questions.

Are the grooves just aesthetic? can I specify how many I want?

Does the E-Nano work in a car, with the lighter slot thing?

How do exotic versions work? different exotic on sale every once in a while?

and the bottom plate. I've seen mixed pictures, some silver, some black. what color do the latest E-Nanos have?

Hmm, well I hope he gets some Bog Oak in soon. :)
and that's good to hear aswell, I didn't want to get any of the original 3 because they had the silver plates in the preview pictures.

^of course, <200 is perfect.

how do the 4 types of glass stems differ? I understand that the all glass needs no filters, but what is heavy glass?

Hello FC! As a long time lurker here and on several other threads, I have found this forum and everybody's input very useful. Now it is time for me to jump in.

I received my E-Nano from Andy about a month ago, and I absolutely love it. It has been put through its paces as my daily driver, and exceeded all of my expectations (which were high, based on everything I had read here).

I have only one small issue, which is that the connection between the main A/C wall plug and the dimmer switch seems to be a bit finicky, for lack of a better word. When picking up or setting down the Nano, the light bulb will occasionally flicker or momentarily go out. Wiggle or reposition the power cable a little bit and it goes back to normal. I have not been able to get the light bulb to stay off for long enough to test whether or not the heater is affected. Aside from being a little annoying, this issue hasn't affected the overall performance of the unit.

I was able to isolate it, I believe, to the dimmer switch, as when I set the unit down on a flat surface and wiggle the power chord immediately on either side of the dimmer switch, this is the only way I can recreate the flickering problem, and even then it is very intermittent. The connection between the Nano itself and the power cable is very solid and does not produce the flicker when agitated.

I took the back panel off of the dimmer switch in order to test the voltage throughput, which at level 10 came out to about 115v. Can somebody tell me if ~5v is a normal margin for error? I was using an older voltage meter which may not be of very good quality.

While I had the back panel off, I noticed that one of the 4 solder points on the back of the dimmer switch looks different than the other 3. I suspect this to be the source of the flickering problem, so I snapped a couple pictures. I'm hoping this may be as simple as either touching up the solder point or replacing the dimmer switch. I have checked on it several times over the course of the month of regular use, and it looks the same as it did the first time I looked at it, which indicates to me that it is not degrading from use and is safe to use.

I have seen that some of you are pretty knowledgeable about this stuff -- electrical, etc. I am not! Please chime in and let me know what you think. I have also e-mailed Andy, and will let you all know what he says when I hear back. Thanks in advance!

Pics: (The bum looking solder point is on the wall plug side of the dimmer switch, if it makes any difference)

Quick update: I touched up the offending solder point very carefully, and everything is working perfectly now. I am a very happy camper. :)

I have tested shaking the Nano around every which way and contorting the cable and dimmer switch around, and everything is super solid now, no flickering. That beautiful blue light glows without fail.

It will be nice not to have to move the unit around all gingerly and constantly keep an eye on the blue light anymore. Now I can just relax and vape.:tup:

Hi All, coming over from this thread.

As suggested by the very friendly folk over there, the nano seems a natural progression for me. So I'm currently investigating what the best complementary glass for the nano would be for me as I've never dealt with glass before and it's initially a bit intimidating. Not even sure what factors I should really be considering, yet. So, just saying hi for now. :)

Welcome!

Whats your budget for glass?

I believe @canj00digit? Has some very nice glass for sale in the Classifieds section here and hes in your neck of the woods.

Of course thats stepping into the big leagues as far as glass goes!

Thanks for the welcome and the local sale link.

Budget-wise, I'll happily pay for value. My key issue is I don't yet know what factors I should value for glass (particularly when combined with a nano) as I've only ever stem-free dry vaped with an mflb+pa. Hopefully I'll be able to "see the glass from the sand" soon. All help welcome of course. :)

All my days in a daze...
Think you need to get your nano on some glass and get the man some pics no?

Indeed.

I will take it up with him via PM when the time is right.

Only he will know when that is. Only he.

What is with me today? What is with today, today I say!

Right now I'm a little busy losing my mind.
Like for reals this time. lol.

Apologies for the double post, but I felt this thread was lacking in video content and milk. This will not stand.

As such, here is .05g of bud put through my Luke Wilson 15 arm tree at setting 10 (the only setting! lol)

Nice job, dude. That's what it's all about, sharing is caring. :)

This man @herbivore21 went through strife to make this vid using a one legged e-nano and a cracked bubbler.
This MFer does work!

I have found that without the dimmer, it is all about how you pack the bowl and how you grind or chop the herb. Coarsely chopping seems to prevent combustion completely. I have done 16 bowls without combusting. I am commensurately effected by these vapors as I type! The crack is nothing that will break, it is a hairline, will be sweet with some hxtal which is set to arrive in a day or two :) I just missed water cooling too much, level 10 is too harsh for a straight dry stem!

Chopped together an 18mm roasting chamber today, using some silicone, the all glass stem connected to an 18mm borosilicate activated carbon filter (no carbon, thoroughly cleaned before use), the nano and my Luke Wilson piece (what cracks!?) haha

This is my fave bubbler to use with the nano just a strait down stem and small bubbler could do with a lil longer down stem so I could use less water
