Although not good for a lot of weight, the ballon mouth piece does just about perfectly fit an 18mm adapter. (An O-ring would help a tad to keep the end from dropping entirely in.)

@nigel Is that a thermocouple? Can I ask if your reading are close the display temperature? I was thinking of doing this myself, but I need a higher temp thermocouple for Herbie.

Yup. But you'll note it is inserted at the point of the glass, NOT in the bowl where the product is. The latter is what one really wants to measure. I've run those tests before.

If it is inside the bowl, the measurement is right on point. When you draw, and therefore introduce foreign air (heated or not) into the bowl, the temp remains on point. Stop draw, on point. Turn on fan assist, on point.

I just have a digital multimeter, but I've seen output on live graphs before. The curve, once Herbie is turned on and up to temp, is surprisingly flat, despite activity. That's something you just don't see and one of the big selling points here regarding this device's accuracy.

In addition to being able to maintain a fixed temp across conditions, I'll add the that that each unit is individually calibrated by hand before it is put in it's box.

Great!!! I've been wondering if the display temperature reflected the temperature of the point under the bowl where its measured, or if they assume a small cooling effect for the air draw. I've been thinking if I want something at 310F, do I set for 310F, 315F or 320F, etc....

I did know about the individual calibration - so sounds like they calibrate so that the calibration point is inside the bowl not the point of the measurement. More reason to LOVE HERBIE!!!!

Wow. What a great read over the last few weeks. Thank you to all of you who have contributed to this thread and helped me make a great decision on the purchase of a herbie! Mine is enroute and I can't wait.

One thing I would like to know from the current owners..... I would like a bubbler to hook up to the herbie for use when I'm home..... I love the mobius ion matrix.... but it's sold out everywhere. Can someone recommend me a nice piece to accompany my herbie!

I think the on-board TC is right under the bowl, but the calibration is done with an entirely different TC in the bowl.

@mysterion Welcome to FC! I also am awaiting the arrival of my Herbie as patiently as I can. There are no mobius ions but, have you checked the classifieds thread? There are some really nice pieces of glass in there . Or maybe on ioffer. This seller has nice pieces at resonable prices, and on some of them you can haggle price.

I am so excited that my Herbie is shipping out tomorrow. I went and got some fresh test samples today for when he arrives. :science:

This cumulative packing of the bowl I am doing throughout the day is really kicking my ass like never before. And the high temp nightcap is so satisfying. I have yet to hit a fresh bowl before bed after I hit the high temp session.

The temp separation is so clear that it makes it very easy to save your low temp leftovers for the high temp nightcaps.

I just got the tracking number for Herbie! He is coming by next-day air so fingers crossed he will be here in 2 days or less. Party! To the Herbalizer team for getting him dispatched so quickly. I will update everyone upon arrival. Thanks

Quick question, has anyone ever opened the lid and had the screen remain dark? It was fixed by closing it and opening it again.

Almost there...
The bags on this thing are wrecking me. Maybe it's the thinner vapor compared to the first whip hits that gets me hitting more, but when I finish a bag I am glazed!

What temp do you start at Sticks?
Full blast from the start or do you work your way up from a lower temp?

I just wish the bags were not so noisy and crinkly!
The wife hates them and the noise they make!
I need a soft one for movie watching!

@lazylathe I hit the bags at 440 or 445...max them out. I think that's why they wreck me so much. I usually start with the whip or glass at 370 - 390 and finish off the night at the higher temps. But when I had that bag session with my family I was turning it up because they are smokers. All I can say is a full bowl on Herbie at high temps can compete with any bong out there...we were all wrecked.

I don't recall the noise being an issue for me. I'm used to the old, noisy Extreme bags that were very noisy, and so were the first Ion bags. The later Ion bags were nice and silent like these, comparatively speaking. My only issue with the bags is getting a good seal for filling and the one I have been using has a valve that doesn't close all the way when at rest. The seal is probably fine...I'm just anal about what I can't see at night.

In the end I have to make far fewer concessions for this vape to be perfect than any other. This thing is so great I just don't care about the one or two little things that could be better. I use it every day and take it with me when out of town. I haven't used another vape since I got it and I don't really care to. I haven't felt this way about a vape since my Cloud. I am also learning about what I have been vaping as far as temp, etc. Turns out I have been a high temp vaper even when I thought I wasn't.

I now have all three delivery methods down...whip, bag and glass. I find they each hit a little differently and I may end up changing delivery methods similar to how I switch up vapes to keep the tolerance in check...we'll see if that works for the long run.

Last night I would hit a bag and then turn on the aromatherapy for a little bit...than repeat. Kept the room nice and fresh instead of just dank. This thing is the shit!

I have nowhere near enough money to afford a Herbie anytime soon but I love coming to this thread, its so positive and filled with happy customers. How sturdy does the GonG feel with a hydrotube on it? looks a bit nerve wracking to me

Honestly, that specific HT is a bit big for it. A standard HT or even the PNWT are absolutely perfect. They stand on their own perfectly and offer an entirely different flavor spectrum. And I'm sure you all saw how much vapor I exhaled, this thing hits like a sherman tank!

I'm not a bag user, maybe someday if I ever plunk down for an Herbie, but make sure you read the whole thread that underdog posted, users report bag too small and issue with having to hold the bag up while it fills.

I use the whip when I fill up bags. Don't run into the issue with leakage.

They do leak if you don't hold the bag up, but since Ive started using the whip to fill them I don't see this anymore. Was actually thinking of trying a thin grommet on the outside on the top of the bowl to make a seal for the bag caps.
