Discontinued Thermovape Cera

How much different does it look? I though TV were keeping the liquid and concentrate cores separate. I would recommend calling or emailing the company to ask.
Does anyone know if I can use the new Liquid core for wax ? I sent an old liquid core to get rebuilt into a EO and they sent me a new liquid core instead

First a little confused.
You sent them the old liquid core (the one that looks the same as the EO before they redesigned it) and they sent you back the new liquid core?

Or you sent them your liquid core and they just sent you it back?

If its the second scenario, its possible they just rebuilt your old liquid core to EO specs?

Test it with a dmm if its EO it should measure about 0.9 ohms

The first one. I paid for an old EL core to be rebuilt into an EO. Instead I got sent back the new design of liquid cores.

If I read the TE site correctly last night, the "new" liquid core is a 7V item, and the old liquid core (as well as the old/current oil and botanical cores) is rated at 3.7V.

So if I read things correctly, the new liquid core requires a two battery setup.

Thats just the luna liquid core i believe. I think if you get the cera liquid core its still 3.7V but i could be wrong

That blows. Im sure theyll sort it out for you. Just inconvenient

mud: Well, I went back and looked around some more in the TET site store, and it looks like you're right.

It appears there's a liquid core for the Cera line and a liquid core for the Luna line. I guess I'm a little confused in general though.

I asked here three or six times trying to find out what the difference between the original Cera liquid core and the newer Cera liquid core was. This long before the new 7V Luna liquid core was mentioned. There was a multi-month period where one couldn't buy the Cera liquid core because TET was reworking/redesigning it. Never got an answer from anyone.

Maybe the next time OF visits TET he can find out more specifically what the differences are between the currently available different cores.

I wonder if one could stack two 16350's into a Cera body and use new 7.4V liquid core...

I received my replacement EL core a few weeks back, it works quite nice. It looks quite different than the previous EL and EO cores. The hole down the center is deeper, and the upper body of the core looks like it's two pieces (inside and outside sections) press-fit together, that create a hollow wall that seemingly houses more porous ceramic in-between, that acts as a large reservoir. You can easily put 15-20 drops of e-liquid in it without leaking. The flavor is very nice, as well as the amount of vapor it produces. Also, the inner lip of the core is shaped differently now, and doesn't cut and fray the o-rings on my driptips like the original did.

Yeah I recall reading that it would be able to hold a bit more juice now? Dunno, I kind of stopped paying attention to most of the e-cig stuff once I got my RDA. It's nice to have a system that works but I love tinkering with my coils and stuff :science:

Is the new EL as harsh as the last one? The last one had way too much throat hit for me no matter which juice I tried.

Also, does anyone know if the EO core has the same sharp lip as before? I hated shredding the O-rings on my drip tips.

If you look at the last bit of my comment, I state that the lip is different and no longer tares up o-rings. The flavor is nice and smooth, with just a bit of throat-hit to it.

Thanks for your response. You mentioned that the new redesigned EL core has a smooth lip. I want to know if the EO core has a smooth lip now too.

Hi Airdru,

There were a limited number of EO cores (at the very beginning of CERA's launch) that had a sharp lip that could shred o-rings. The problem was identified and corrected early on (I believe within a month of launch?) and AFAIK with the exception of that limited batch - all EO cores (not referring to the EL core which I have seen but haven't used) have a smooth lip to help prevent shredded o-rings. Hope this helps.

That makes sense. I just replaced my oring on my smoothflow. Ive had it for over a year though and used it plenty with the dart. The new orings been on for a few weeks and looks good as new. I also bought my eo months after it launched

I purchased my Cera TIT EO in January 2014 and mine cuts up o-rings. So I have opted to no longer use the EO mouthpiece.

Hi notoriousLrg,

Sorry to hear that - perhaps a 'sharp-lipped' one that made its' way into inventory and was shipped by accident? I also had a TI EO core that would shred my o-rings no matter how carefully I attempted to install my smooth flow MP (or any other drip tip for that matter). Had it replaced (repair is not an option) - and like Mynameismud's experience - I haven't had any problems since. Maybe a call/email to TV for assistance? Good luck.

I appreciate the help NoName. Here is what I rcvd from Zeki "Twisting it in and twisting it off is the best method. If you just push it in, it will wear the o-ring much faster. "

But it still chews up my o-ring. Hopefully when I get the cart rebuilt, I'll see improvement. But right now, with the clouds produced by my Cera , no need for a rebuild anytime soon.

Hi notoriousLrg,

Clouds = NICE!! Just remember to be specific about the issue when you send it in for rebuild. Might not hurt to ask them to visually and tactilely compare the 'sharp lip' on your TI EO core - to the 'smooth lip' found on current production cores (you can really 'feel' the difference when you run your finger over the 'lip') lol.

Cheers,
NN

I just received my 2 LL carts back from TET and it was exactly that, OF, $25 per cart and well worth it. They blaze up like new and they even cleaned out the dark spot in the middle of the ceramic. Just a 7 day turnaround from shipping to TET and back in my mailbox. :D Zeki and the TET team are top notch over there. My luna is due tomorrow but for now I get to fall in love with my Cera LL all over again:love:! Anyone having issues with your LL cart, send it back! For $25 don't wait!

Not sure if everybody knows or not but there is a Luna thread under thread candidates.
I dont think it really justifies its own thread. Its just a new handle to use with cera cores...except the 7V EL but that just is a higher voltage cera EL

I've had some good luck with my cera while my firefly is getting replaced. Its a fickle mistress, but when it works it works well.
Mine works well all the time since i got it rebuilt! Unlike my FFs which have all been inconsistent or broken. I know you sent your cera back and they didnt do anything...but maybe when you get your FF back contact them and see if you can do the new $25 ground up rebuild. I would send your Cera, switch and a battery you use too just so they can test everything while its there.

Should get your cera working consistently and for longer time off a single battery
