exercise! diet! t break!

so I have gone through something of a lifestyle change recently. ive been running for cardio every day for the past month. to go along with it I also am currently on a t break day 9.

I started exercising cuz I need to get in shape and also because ive been planning a t break because my tolerance had got to a point where even 10 dabs in a row would not get me anywhere worth going. =[

so basically I want to make this a thread where we can come share our exercise and eating habits day to day or week to week. and in the process I hope we can stick to our goals by sharing our progress or new goals periodically and through building comraderie and focus. I think anyone who wants to take a t break should use the opportunity to also get off of all other vices and allow the body an extended period of idle repair instead of always preparing for the next battle.

I stopped junk food and added sugar day 1 of my exercise routine. so its been 1 months without processed foods and added sugar. I figured if I was going on a break, I might as well allow my body to live for a little while without any drugs at all legal or otherwise. sugar has been shown to wreck havoc on our dopamine response and carrier system as a whole. porn and masturbation is also a culprit. go figure.

DAY 36 (4 inches lost off my waist so far)
so today I ran for 26 minutes non stop 2.1 miles. this is a big deal for me. 36 days ago on day one, I felt like my heart was going to explode after just 3 or 4 minutes on the treadmill. I was almost sure that I had a lung issue. today though ive worked my stamina to a level where now my muscles give out before my breath. it is also easier now without processed foods to see how natural foods affect my mind and body. I can now actually increase or decrease my stamina depending how I eat a hour before I exercise. ive been under the American diet for soo long I had forgotten what real food tastes like. for example
I got up at 5am
drank some coffee at 6
ate some greek yogurt and had some green tea at 730
exercise at 9
followed directly by 6 eggwhites boiled (I hate veggies, they activate my gag reflex =[
shower and the a nice small serving of wild smoked salmon with organic oatmeal 1/4 cup topped with 1 tblspoon of ground flax seeds for omega 3 and fiber (the ala in omega 3 is not essential for your body) it is the precursor to omega 3 dha which is the one that the brain uses for repair. ala and epa omega 3 are utilized as precursors to form dha or for other functions like skin, hair, nails etc) I like to get my omega 3 naturally through the flax and let my body use it as it deems necessary

soo far I have lost a considerable amount of weight following this simple diet. I also have seen a lessening of my short term memory loss gradually since I started my t break. I believe the headaches I felt on the first few days on my t break were signs that my brain was hard at work after basically years without a t break and an entire lifetime on an American junk diet.

I used to eat easily 3000 cal per day, I am literally feeling no hunger at all and so far all the food I ate today has added up to less than 1000 calories. and my dinner will consist of a salad with lean protein or if my moms cooking, lentil soup and some other vegetarian dish.

the only issue I have come across since I have started exercising is that I have noticed that I wake up with a dry mouth every night. dry throat as well. I think I have sleep apnea, I think this because ive always had a stuffy nose and a football mishap also gave me a deviated septum so I cant breathe through only my right nostril.

heyNYC5IKH5jabi, i'm trying to put on weight, get fitter n increase my stamina while taking a month long customised t-break. i suck at consistency and so your thread came up at the right time for me as i am looking for some company on this customised t-break journey of mine, good stuff! congrats on your lifestyle plan, keep it up! *it's a customised t-break as i get to to vape once-a-week on march 1, 8, 15, 22

i dont eat junk food to excess, basically dont take sugar so my eating habits are relatively ok but have to upgrade the level somewhat with my plan. And in past times, i'd get a good exercise/diet/tbreak going and i'd feel fit, full of energy and then yeah u said it, porn & masturbation cause i feel really alert & super-horny ahhhh  but i understand better now that part of a lifestyle change is also confronting my own demons in a positive way, especially since a lot of my issues are mental. maybe this thread is therapy for me.:)

one thing i didn't see you mention was water, so i hope you're staying hydrated. sometimes i under-appreciate it so now, with my planned t-break, i have to consciously remind myself to drink water first thing in the morning (500ml) and throughout the day. i think it will make a +ve difference for me, esp in the long run.

DAY 1 for me starts on mar 2nd morning.

water is so key bro. all my life ive been overweight but it never stopped me from being active. I still remember one summer day it was scorching and I was delivering take out all summer that year to save money for a ipod. I remember how one particular day I was able to literally down 30 individual Poland spring water. and I wasn't pissing it all out rapidly. my body was just thirsty and working well. nowadays, I don't feel like drinking water and when I do I feel full after just a glass whereas everytime before I would need atleast 2 glasses to quench any moderate thirst. I have been drinking more water since exercising and I think just like food we need to wean back on with the water intake. add more and more until your drinking almost too much. that's when you know youre staying hydrated.

my mother always said a glass of water with a teaspoon of vinegar and a pinch of lemon juice was a jolt to the metabolism if taken first thing in the morning. I never tried it, cuz im friggin weird, no matter what I do I never have an appetite in the morning, I don't want to taste anything at all except for clean water. =[

DAY 3. feel like it's a mild form of discomfort not being able to vape. now that i can't do it everyday, i sure miss the fun aspect of vaporizing. feels different when i go traveling and choose to stop vaping versus making a conscious choice to limit my vaping days. missus got on me nerves somewhat, dad got on me nerves. please stay calm.

think good thoughts and plan my day, especially morning routine beforehand.

drank water, kept hydrated.

p/s - using this thread as my personal diary of sorts.

So last night I ran for 2.5 miles on the treadmill. For me 2 months ago, that would have been like a marathon.

Ive been falling off the water consumption requirements I had set
I have found my appetite and thirst decrease as the days go on.
And I seem to be dreaming again, every night I am having dreams I wake up from

so you've been "falling off the water consumption requirements" yet you're ok? i haven't reached that level yet. i need to drink more for my body to discover it's equilibrium.

when u awake after dreaming, do you feel more refreshed or less?

I feel the same when I wake up, but I wake up at the same time everyday. so in that regard I am a little more habitual with my sleep patterns and resting rhythms.

so yesterday I ran twice and it totaled out to 5.0 miles. for me it really is a massive accomplishment. although even now the first .5 mile is the hardest. I wonder why that is so. I ran 3.0 in the morning and 2.0 before dinner. and its still the first 5 minutes that feels like I cant get through it.

UPDATE the deck board floor of my treadmill just broke. =[ I hate going to the gym

fuck. i didn't last very long. combusted x2 on the 10th after a heated discussion with the wife. i was cranky the whole week thru, maybe the lack of vaping, sex and prohibition on masturbation was a factor in my angst buildup as well as underlying issues with the wife. NYC, i think i have a long way to go before i reach your level of discipline. take some time off first to analyse my attitude and to think wtf i'll do next.
