Im thinking its not glue either. My initial thought was this...

When i clean my thermovape, hercules and other small vape parts that can soak i use a glass tube with a screw on lid. I let it soak for so long then when im ready to clean instead of dumping the iso and parts out i start adding water and rinsing the iso out of the vial with the parts still in there.

Anyway as soon as i add some water to the dirty iso, iso immediately turns a cloudy color. Not sure thats exactly what happened. I know theres some water in iso as its usually not 99% but that could have happened if you rinsed ur shot glass out and didnt dry it before use maybe? I dunno just grasping at straws here.

What color was the "glue" left over on the walls of ur cart?

Vito, Myn, I use 90% ethanol not iso and the cup was "clean" (not really cause it was a empty shatter container with oil sticked on the wall, I would to clean it with alcohol to don't waste and I used that as a bath to clean my atty), I'm actually making a test with clean alcohol in another cup built with the same plastic (it's not silicone) to check if there is a chemical interaction between plastic and alcohol.. i'll tell you soon.

The color of the "glue" is white and I can't clean it with water, I need solvent to clean the cup.

And I forgot to told you that the heater fall in the alcohol bath and was full of alcohol everywhere...

But if you told me that your attys are free of glue in your iso bath, I think I made a mistake or something is fallen in my alcohol, I don't know....

I completely took apart an old dabbler heater and found no glue anywhere.

There is another possibility.
Everclear has residual sugars.. it also does not always dissolve all "oils stuck to wall" in same clean manner .
Also everclear (ethanol) and it's concomitant sugars may be reacting to a solvent (whatever your original stuck to walls oil was made with.)

Ok, I don't know what exactly happened but I tell you sorry guys and Vaporbrothers to got doubts about your heater and I'm still a proud owner of the Dabbler!

No worries, @PPN. I haven't taken my heaters apart (one of each) but ISO washing them (91/99%) I did not notice anything alarming. I'm wondering if it wasn't the oil that was on the container that reacted with the ethanol and not specifically the heater itself? When doing ISO washes I've sometimes had my end-product come out white almost looking like glue as well. Keep us updated on if there was an interaction with the container and ethanol.

Funny I had an experience with a white cloudy thing happening last night. I soaked my two atomizers and mouthpiece in iso for about a half hour, then scrubbed them with an old toothbrush, after I was done I left the pieces out to dry and thought since my bong was due for a cleaning anyway I thought I'd reuse the iso alcohol I'd just used to soak the atomizers. So I dumped that into my bong. Then I added a little tap water to make it go a little further and as soon as I did that it was all cloudy white. I immediately flushed a million times with water because this was inside my bong! but quickly it was all rinsed out. I assumed it was all residue from the plastic yogurt container I"d soaked the atomizers in...I'm still not concerned at all that this is from the dabbler, I just wanted to throw my two cents in to potentially help solve the mystery of this white cloudy water/alcohol mix...

has anyone tested their glass wick atomizer with oil?

yes.
It works great... same as with wax/putty.
just drip one drop on the coil.
I reserve one heater just for oil to keep flavor pure.

No... he speaks of the original Dabbler Heater.
They had a discussion back on page 1 of this thread, and call the wick glass.

I just received my ceramic atomizer with the new mouth piece in the mail yesterday. I normally use flowers during the week and extracts on the weekends, but I had to test out the new gear. The atomizer worked great, amazing flavor, we'll see how it stands the test of time. The really awesome part worth mentioning imo is the new and improved mouthpiece. The hole connecting your mouth to the pen is larger so the air flow is already better there, but they've also drilled a hole in the side of the mouth piece which at first I thought was just for increased air flow but then I started using it as a carb and was able to pull amazing amazing hits. I am VERY happy about this new function and I think you will be too if you have this piece. Nice work vaporbrothers, I'm very satisfied.

I can see myself using the older mouth piece at shows where it's dark and I can't aptly explain to friends how to use the carb, but for most situations this is going to be my new go to.

I also cleaned out both of my older (glass wick?) atomizers and they work incredibly well again, in fact just like new, and the taste is unbeatable again.

To answer another question above, I've used oils on the glass wick it works great just do a little tiny bit at a time. Over time you'll need to clean but you can definitely vape oil in this thing.

Thanks for the input dudes, I've read 20 pages of the thread so far ! This is the vape for me, I know it's not recommended but I have a g pen battery I'm going to put it on to save money.

It's taken sometime to find this dabber, FB almost needs a voting area where people can see what the highest rated pen is, as it's a mine field !

These are like the K.I.S.S. carts?

They load and operate the same, but the OG Dabbler Carts have a glass wick inside the coils, while the newer ceramic carts have a ceramic rod inside the coils, much like the K.I.S.S. carts. The ceramic Dabbler cart is just more universal since it's 510 threading.

Of course, for you and your arsenal of UP Tech products, 510 threading might be an issue.

Just wanted to drop in and say I've had my Dabbler since Octobert of last year. Had a faulty battery initially which messed up my coil but VaporWarehouse got that squared away in a jiff!

Since the replacement, I have put about 5-6 gs through a single original glass-wick cartridge and I can say its still going strong, with better taste than any other pen I have hit while out and about. Others have commented as well at how much better it tastes than their on-the-go device. I have cleaned it about 4 times using it ISO soak/agitate w/ tooth brush, and each time its like-new again! Thanks again VB.

The dabbler is designed in California, and tested in the USA. The battery is probably made in China, of course. Not sure if Vape-Pen makes the carts here in the USA or not?

@VaporWarehouse @vaporbrothers can you clear this up for them?

Hey there everyone i was considering the Dabbler. I have only read this last page so far.

Can i buy the $35 3in1 Ceramic Core Heater and install on my own 510 battery?

What voltage is the battery that comes with the complete pen?

Thanks!!

Killer, im gonna hop on board.

Whats with the "improved electronics in the battery" that im reading on the vapor warehouse website regarding the Dabbler? Is that just the pass through charging option?

Also how does one decide between the Ceramic or Glass wick?

Finally is it better to just buy the $99 complete pen? Maybe for warranty reasons?

Thanks for any info. Im anxious to place this order now/tonight. I plan to start reading this thread to learn more in the future.

They say the improved electronics is a temperature sensor for the coil so it does not burn your oil. I believe it because of the taste is sooo goood.

That is the reason you want to buy the Dabbler package, apparently the battery and the cartridge are made for each other and you can only take advantage of the temperature sensor if you have a Dabbler battery w/ a Dabbler cartridge (again, apparently). Warranty is a plus as well.. I would just grab the whole pen package, as well as an extra ceramic cartridge so you can try them next to each other and decide which works for you and your type of concentrates.

Temp sensor? Talk to me man im not questioning you im just trying to understand. A temp sensor/regulator sounds amazing! But im guessing the battery might just shut off after a certain amount of time, not an actual temperature reading?

Yes there is an auto shut off of 10 seconds. The coil does not glow anywhere near as red as a previous pen of mine, which is even more evidence that there is power regulation going on.... I'm pretty sure its more of a power regulation than an actual temp-sensor per se.
